I never watched ER back in the day. I tend to lean toward SciFi/fantasy or at least a supernatural/paranormal element. I have binged The Pitt twice. It was fantabulous. Pulled in right away with some good characters and drama. Then they really showed some high drama late in the season.
I will say I don’t think I would have done that if I hadn’t been able to binge so I hope they drop full seasons at once.
Have to check out Haunted Hotel as we like Ghosts, although are behind on current season(s).
Have to catch up on Peacemaker. Glad it’s been good!
A fun reality show that had mostly nice people just trying to win the game. In the end, most people are able to even congratulate the winner, which I like to see. One or two little nasty moments, but mostly a fun show without a bunch of nasty people.
The contestants go to hotel and in each room, they have a box. One contains a million dollars, the rest are empty.
They proceed to play games and so forth to determine who has the money and how to get it.
I just finished the first season of Unforgotten, thanks to recommendations here. It really held my attention. I liked how everything was tied together and how everyone was affected. I’m looking forward to further seasons.
New Amazing Race. This time, it is all Big Brother- each team has at least one Big Brother cast member. And I despise Big Brother.
Man, what a bunch of morons, 12 out of 13 seemed to me to have room temperature IQs (the Fabulous Furry Sikh Brothers did seem pretty smart and competent, and maybe a couple more).
There’s a new Amazing Race? I just realized I never finished the last one. I think I got as far as the final four. I just couldn’t deal anymore with the guy who kept blaming his wife for everything he screwed up. So I’m not sure if I’ll watch this one or not…
Just started Wednesday. I hadn’t watched it because I heard some so-so reviews. My granddaughter made me watch the first episode and it hooked me. I’m now watching the second and so far, I like it.
Finished watching Zero Day on Netflix. Not terrible, but certainly not great. Decent premise, but should have been a lot better than it was. Wouldn’t recommend.
Season 3 of Alice in Borderland has dropped on Netflix. I watched the first episode and the real world stuff was kinda tedious as they attempted to explain how you get to Borderland and what might motivate people to go back. By the end of the first episode we are back and I hope that’s where we stay for the rest of the season.
I dod a double take last night when it came up as a recommendation on my Netflix. I was certain it had come to a natural conclusion, so I will be interested to see if s3 is any good.
House of Guinness last night. Left on a cliffhanger. At some point there will be a crossover with the Mitford series. Loved the costumes. Edward has the best clothes.
Yes, it ended. I was stunned a couple years ago when a 3rd season was announced. I’m two episodes in and it is about as good as it could be. It’s weird because of how it ended and their attempt to keep it going is forced, but it is mainly working.
For those who are interested, a new season of Silent Witness has started.
I think it’s on Britbox, but don’t hold me to that. We watched E1 on Prime last night, and our subscription includes Britbox, Acorn, and Masterpiece. .
Has anyone watched Wayward yet? It really only caught my attention because I noticed Mae Martin is in it as well as the Creator and Showrunner. The only thing I know Mae from is Taskmaster, but the name still caught my attention.
When I looked it up to see if it was related to Wayward Pines*, which it isn’t, I saw a bunch of “Wayward, the ending explained” type articles. I have a habit of skipping shows when I see articles like that. Even if they’re just clickbait headlines, it still makes me think I’m going into a show that I’m not going to understand.
*To be fair, the show is called Wayward and it takes place in Tall Pines, so it’s an easy mistake.
I’m still watching Orphan Black and completely forgot Nacho (Michael Mando) was in it. Also, and I don’t know if caught this last time I watched it, one of the other characters is played by Matt Frewer, AKA Russ, the next door neighbor from Honey I Shrunk The Kids and Max Headroom.
Not sure whether stand-up comedy goes in movies or TV shows.
Watched Gianmarco Soresi’s new special Thief of Joy. Definitely worth it. He’s one of the comedians I point to when people complain that comedy is too PC. He’s definitely on the riskier side with his material. What I didn’t pick up from watching his shorts on YouTube was how theatrical he is. He jokes at length about his background in theater, and his dysfunctional family, and it really felt like a good ‘‘get to know this person’’ sort of entrance into the arena. All very funny. Good for him!
My favorite joke is when they said, “Gianmarco, you’re 34, why are you still thinking about your dysfunctional childhood? Don’t you think you should have moved on by now?”
He said, “Look, if I’m in a building with a shaky foundation, I don’t feel safer when I move up to the 34th floor.”
I read an article about it this morning that said it was the movie needed to shake people up as we hurtle toward authoritarianism, so… I did not expect it to be funny.
