We just started Season 2 of Resident Alien. I was just about to cancel the cable, so I need to figure out how to stream it. It’s sort of quirky, about an alien who is sent to destroy all humans (a galactic hitman) but crash-lands instead. Shenanigans ensue.
Now we’re watching Breaking Bad. I know, I’m many years behind the rest of the world. So far, I like it.
I had a brain fart and thought that Corner Gas was a series I had seen a couple of times on PBS years ago and liked, so I started watching that and like it okay. I quickly remembered, though, that what I had watched on PBS was The Red Green Show. It turns out that all 15(!) seasons are on Archive.org, so I tried watching the first episode, and it was literally one of the worst things I had ever seen in my life.
I’ve been watching NewsRadio. I’ve never seen it before, and it’s really fun. I’m about halfway through Season 4, and I’m feeling pretty bad for the actors because I know that Phil Hartman was murdered only days after this season’s final episode aired.
I’ve watched it twice, plus both follow-on series about Jesse and Saul Goodman. Loved it both times. It just seems to get better and better as it goes along.
Watched the first episode of Bel-Air. It is about a young man from Philadelphia who has his life flipped turned upside down when some trouble in his neighborhood leads to his moving across the country to live with his aunt and uncle.
It is kind of…bland. I think it really worked better as just a joke trailer on Youtube.
Heh. Your description sucked me in. Had I not read your post, I would have stopped watching midway through the first episode, but I stuck it out and watched the eight thirty minute episodes last night. I’m still not sure if that was a good thing …
Started the second season of Dollface, with Kat Denning and Brenda Song, among others. They are very close to overusing the Imaginary Cat Lady, but otherwise I’m enjoying it.
Still watching Single Drunk Female. And, yes, How I Met Your Father.
We’re enjoying Somebody Somewhere on HBO Max. It’s gently funny with a distinct hint of moroseness lurking in the background. Full of quirky but true-to-life characters. I recommend it.
We watched it more slowly; just finished last night.
I’ll say one thing - it rarely goes where you think it will, which isn’t necessarily good or bad, but in this case kept me engaged.
I’m not going to unconditionally recommend it, but it was interesting and thought-provoking at the very least.

I agree.
ETA: I’ll also point out that I was glad I had no clue where things were headed from the start.
I stumbled accidentally on something called Repair Shop, on the Discovery Channel.
In each episode, somebody comes in to an English establishment with an antique gizmo, doodad, or three-cornered thingamabob that belonged to their beloved grandfather but has fallen into a sad state of disrepair. The artisans and craftspeople of the shop work magic and get it back to the delighted owner.
I find it fascinating, watching people working with tools and skills that I had no idea existed. It’s something you can just set your DVR to record every episode, and spend a nice hour (fast forwarding through the too-many commercials) and unwind.
Without spoiling the show, is Forever a light comedy type show or something darker and more depressing?
We often pick shows based on our mood, and I’d like to be on point with this one if it’s worth starting.

I wouldn’t characterize it as either of these, or even in between. It’s kind of its own thing.
There’s a good deal of humor, but it’s not a laugh-out-loud comedy. And there are some serious themes, but it’s not morose or depressing. I’m sure that helps you not at all.

something darker and more depressing?
And yet not.
I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again, that the only thing that would make me watch that show would be to find out that these guys we’re the ones up to no good.
I’m watching “You”. I’m in the first season, and it’s not bad, but I’m having trouble seeing how this is going to go three seasons without getting tiresome.
Oh gad yes. Sam in *Somebody Somewhere * reminds me of a handful of coworkers who are bigger sized than you usually see in movies, but are really interesting to get to know.
The first few episodes of Locke & Key on Netflix were interesting, but it went on way too long at 10 episodes and ended on a cliffhanger for a second season, which I have no interesting in watching.
I’ve been binge watching the original Mission: Impossible series on Pluto TV. I was not allowed to stay up that late during its early seasons, so I never saw those episodes. SO many Star Trek guests were guests in this series too (thank you Desilu).
