Severance Season 2 [OPEN SPOILERS]

Ive been wondering about this scene. They’re moving or disposing of what look like dental tools to me, but I’m guessing are used for the severance brain surgery. I’m presuming that, given the timing and the fact that there are numerous sets, these are the specific tools used for Irving, but why move or dispose of them? And the whistiing of “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” must be symbolic of something, unless they’re just playing with us.

The time passage seems so out of whack. Helena tells Mark the incident was within the past week or so, the innies say it’s been months… Are the episodes we’re watching in chronological order? Can we be sure?

The innies have no idea how much time has past outside of what they’re told.

Did they specifically indicate that it was the immediately followimg Monday?

Natalie: So, who are you bringing into MDR?

Milchick: I’ve got a floater from overseas and a pair who were laid off from 5X.

Drummond: 5X? Really?

Milchick: I had 48 hours to pull this together.

A PSA for those who may be interested: although the official release day for new episodes is Fridays, it actually seems to drop on Thursdays at 6pm Pacific/9pm Eastern. Thursday evening works much better for our viewing schedule, so my wife and I were tickled to discover it! (But also, beware of spoilers getting out there before you thought the episode had aired!)

So maybe 5 months passed then they decided to bring back Mark with a new team then gave Milchick 48 hours to pull it together. Unlikely but possible.
What would be the point in lying and saying 5 months?

In “Woe’s Hollow” when Milchick fires Irv, he sends him off with a dire speech that indicates Irv is going to be deleted all the way out of the system so he can never come back. This scene might have been part of the process. I found myself wondering why Lumon would send one guy with a cart all the way to O&D just to pick up one set of tools. It’s not a very efficient way to move stuff around. But if it was the Irv set and they were making it disappear permanently, that now makes more sense to me.

But why have a special set if tools for each person? Aren’t surgical tools normally sterilized and reused?

Then again, these are for brain surgery, so maybe prion diseases are a concern since such things are apparently difficult to sterilize against.

To give innie Mark the impression that the OTP was a huge news making event that led to Lumen revamping the whole severance program from the top down.

Mr. Milkshake has made the point several times this season that he is not Cobel and he thought her methods were too harsh and therefore less than optimal. He had a rebellion on his hands, and he made up the “inner reform” as well as the new and better treatment as a way to convince Mark to get back on the job.

Dylan apparently only.came back because failed job interviews left him unable to support his family. How.many job interviews happen over a weekend?

Misleading Dylan’s innie to believe that 5 months had passed when it had only been a weekend but then allowing him to meet with his wife seems ridiculously risky.

It’s already been mentioned, but Irv noted to Felicia in O&D that the hadn’t visited O&D in a long time, but to her his last visit had only been a couple of days or so.

Mark returned after a weekend, but it took longer to get the others back. I think it was either suggested or stated that they were out an additional week.

I think you’re on the wrong track suggesting that months passed. Mark’s conversations with his sister and Irving’s with Bert all implied the OTC was a recent event.

Mark W only worked there for three days. He broke a fucking lease in Grand Rapids, and people fucking touching him would have given him another reason to sue.

Well, I for one was not expecting a Sandra Bernhard appearance, but it wasn’t unwelcome.

We got some decent answers to some big questions, but one of the biggest ones is still open.

Way more questions than answers.

“If you would listen–”

“NOPE!” - Devon

Best chair-clobber goes to Gemma! At least we now know she’s alive.

Who the hell is this doctor, for real? Did he (Lumon) purposely cause the miscarriage? For a minute, I thought he was a younger Kier Eagan.

Why the ugly Xmas sweater and are the doctor and Drummond brothers??

We learned that a person can have multiple severed personalities, each triggered to a different location.

I didn’t immediately catch that Dr. Mauer, the one experimenting on Gemma, was also the fertility doctor in the flashbacks. And the clinic is named Butzemann, which is German for bogeyman.

And were the people in the control room monitoring MDR their “doubles” from the Woe’s Hollow episode?
