Severance Season 2 [OPEN SPOILERS]

New ep available now-owwww!

Bert didn’t give Irving his address.

Outie Irving had to find his way back from there?

After a few episodes that moved things along pretty fast not much really happened in this one. Although I enjoyed the dry comic relief of the performance review.

My WAG of Miss Huang being an innie is pretty much crossed out given her comment about innies.

Strange world where phone booths and open gay marriage coexist.

The file names Mark scrolled rhrough:

Yakama
Allentown
Astoria
Bellingham
Cairns
Cielo
Chicxulub
Cold Harbor

Cold Harbor has to relate to this somehow:

Chicxulub has obvious ominous connorations. Probably some Easter egg attached to all if them.

Outie Irving already had Burt’s address. That’s how Irving B was able to get there in the first place.

Maybe she doesn’t consider herself to be a real person. Milcheck doesn’t treat her like one. She’s Lumen’s perfected innie.

I read some speculation that Ricken will be revealed as a bad guy because he is the only character with an Android phone, and villains on Apple TV never use iPhones. He certainly isn’t looking too good in the last episode.

I don’t think we’ve seen anyone use a iPhone. They’ve all been pretty generic.

I do like to see the mask on Ricken slipping a bit.

Any guesses on the mystery man at the beginning and why he was whistling “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”? Things like that never seem random. It’s the second Great Lakes thing I’ve recognized, along with the Kier painting from S1.

“May I say a question?”

Miss Huang is probably 1st generation animatrons or whatever.

So oMark is now aware that Gemma exists in Lumon.

Can’t wait for the ham dinner with Burt, Fields and Irving. Awkward indeed.

Helly with the determined-stompy walk was a welcomed return for me. :joy:

Feel bad for Milichick. He’s gotta conform or help the innies it seems. I laughed at the unbelievably detailed review documents! Looked like a vacation pamphlet.

While that may be what clean slate is for, if Milchick kept to his word at the end of 2x04, Irving is dead. Milchick was quite explicit about Irv being “purged and destroyed” so that it would be as if he never existed.

But having said that, it must be a work in progress because they can still print Irv merch for the funeral. So perhaps his innie does live on in some Lumon hard drive that hasn’t been erased yet.

I loved how Irv’s “hang in there” hint was basically the Contra Code.

Ha! I was wondering where all the directions were being related to. Man, what a shitload of twists and turns in hallways.

Burt says he and Fields canceled their trip to Milwaukee thanks to Irv showing up at their house.

So, maybe that’s three?

That’s another thing. I wouldn’t be delaying a trip out of town if an unknown person shows up on my doorstep. I’d be trying to get away earlier! So Burt and Fields are (my guess) investigating on Lumon in the outie world like Irving and Mark.

I seriously can’t believe they don’t have Official Severance™ dot matrix style face mugs for sale IRL yet.

Hmm, you might have hit on the mystery man’s identity.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was registered in Milwaukee. Someone from Milwaukee might be more inclined to whistle that song. And why would Burt and Fields be going there…maybe Fields still has family there?

Too deep, man. They should have gone with “Schlemiel, Schlimazel, Hasenpfeffer Incorporated…”

Fantastic episode, so deeply unsettling. Burt subtly went from being a charming lovable old man to one of the scariest characters.

And maybe they’ve always done this and I haven’t noticed before, but there seemed to be a lot of scenes that were half lit - like only one side of someone’s face, or one side of a room. It makes sense as a severance metaphor, but I wonder if there’s some significance to it in this episode specifically.
