Now I’m all for equality, and I know that real, serious sexual harrassment does exist and cases of it have to be dealt with. However, I think it has all gone waaaayyyy too far.
Men can’t even look at an attractive woman in an office or something for fear of some ultra feminist dyke lawyer shoving a lawsuit up his ass. It’s happening everywhere. I don’t know if you know this but a good example of where this whole equality thing has gone so over the top it’s not even amusing is in Sweden. Sweden is supposed to be a very sexually liberated country but there has recently been a law passed saying that men cannot stand up to take a piss in a public urinal! The reason, the physical gesture of standing up and peeing is too dominant and offensive to women!!
I SHIT YOU NOT!!!!
This has actually happened, tiolets are being rebuilt all over Sweden because of a bunch of crazy ultra feminist zealots were offended by men standing up to pee!!
Now no matter how masculine some of these ultra feminists are, I can safely assume that they have never gone and taken a whizz in a male public toilet.
This whole sexual harrassment thing has gone right over the edge of sanity and into new, uncharted territories of stupidity. Men are so terrified by the prospect of a sexual harrassment case ( and lets face it, any judge presiding over a sexual harrassment case will always side with the woman for fear of looking like a chauvanist pig otherwise.)
they can’t even look women in the eye at their places of work. IT HAS TO STOP!!!
What do you think?
Link! Give us a link to the story!
If that is true, that really is some fucked up shit!! It is getting so I can’t ask my coworkers for a fucking blowjob during lunch break anymore without everyone raising hell about it. What the fuck!
I can’t find a link to the story. It wouldn’t be on many curret events sites because it happened a few months ago. Just trust me on this. All over Sweden these poor, brow beaten guys are sitting down on dirty lavatories taking a piss because a bunch of pushy, angry ultra feminists are (supposedly)intimidated and offended by guys standing up to take a leak.
Women can stand up and pee, too. I won’t complain, unless they get it on me.
Okay, joking aside… supposedly, there’s a technique for women to pee, without soiling themselves, while standing up. A friend of mine claims to have mastered the ability, though she never lets me watch to verify (not that I find peeing to be much of an attraction). However, I’ll do my best to find the link to the website that she used as a reference, and once I post it up here, I’ll be personally responsible for liberating all of Sweden from the vile clutches of the CUFZ’s.
Gomez, what the fuck, men in Sweden don’t vote? Or is the country run by some evil Queen?
How are laws passed there? How are they enforced? Do the piss police monitor all public restrooms? How about in the privacy of your own home? Are all private restrooms wired for video cams? What is the punishment for violating this law? Penis amputation?
Is there anything you will not believe? Or am I just feeding a fucking troll?
Hmmm. This happened just a few months ago and already the whole country is complying with this new law? Man, things sure happen fast there. It took us years to legislate ramps for wheelchairs.
Your lawmakers passed a bill that outlawed a natural fact of nature (men piss standing up) and the UP missed it, not to mention that the swedish folks here never posted in the pit to complain?
I think the OP is full of shit, unless he can come up with a cite.
I just finished searching the Dow Jones Interactive database of publications. First I searched the entire database for two years using the English words “Sweden,” “toilet” “urinate” and “law,” all 4 and in various combinations. Nothing relating to any such law came up.
Then I searched back two years, using the Swedish words “toa,” “toalett,” “kissar” and “urinerar,” in the Swedish publications Affarsvarlden, Dagens Industri, Dagens Nyheter, Finanstidningen, Nordic Business Report, Reuters Swedish News Service, and Svenska Dagbladet. Again, nothing.
As you are a newbie, Gomez, let me give you some advice. [ul]
[li]If you don’t have a cite, don’t bother.[/li][li]“My friend said so” or “I read it somewhere” doesn’t count as a cite.[/li][li]Don’t fucking entitle a thread something as offensive as the one you did unless you are ready to bend over and experiance a sexual harrassment of a kind you have only had nightmares about.[/li]Go back to lurking for a while until you learn your way around here. You don’t have a cite? You don’t have a thread. [/ul]
What, are all restrooms in Sweden co-ed? How would any of those ultrafeminist pushy dyke women lawyers know in which position men urinate? Or are public urinals out in the wide-open spaces in Sweden, just plopped down in the middle of everything, for all to see?
Oh, and ALL lawyers who represent anyone in a sexual harassment suit are always ultrafeminist pushy dykes, right? No straight women or male lawyers ever have anything to do with lawsuits on this subject. (That’s sarcasm, in case you don’t understand.)
Gomez, grow up. Your OP is a crock of shit, no pardon for the pun.
I’m sure that the many women who have lost sexual harassment cases would disagree with you there. Maybe you should open up a real newspaper once in a while and read something. No, not the comics pages.
Oh god, I can’t help but laugh. Now I’m actually from Sweden and let me tell you something… This guy is full of shit (or piss if you like). There is no law forbidding men to pee standing up. In fact, a recent little invetion (by a woman) makes it possible for women to pee standing up too. It’s a cone shaped device, which a woman in need places under the stream so to speak and voilà! she’s able to point the pee in whatever direction she pleases. Now that’s what I call equality. Here’s a picture of it.
However, a couple in Germany sued their neighbor, and asked that he sit down while peeing at night because it was just too much noise. The court turned down their request… (I couldn’t find a link in English for this one, sorry.)
As for the OP, I can’t believe that something as efficient as the basic urinal would be banned for “sexual harrassment” reasons. How the heck would that keep men from peeing standing up anyway? I don’t have a urinal in my apartment, and I pee standing up all the time.
The OP did not make up the story, but he got the details seriously wrong (see below).
They don’t have a website, so I can’t provide a link, but there was a lengthy article about this in The Spectator, a right-wing British political weekly magazine, at the end of May / beginning of June. This was picked up in some of the other British press (mostly tabloids and presumably has now found its way overseas.
The article suggested that some Swedish women insist on their boyfriends sitting down to pee at home, and that the practice was being encouraged on some university campuses. There was some bullshit about the “aggression” involved in standing up to pee, but I got the impression that it was just a continuation of the old seat up / seat down / don’t pee on the floor debate which has been going on for decades and occasionally graces these boards. I also got the impression that the people concerned were basically your Bohemian student-types rather than the mainstream of Swedish society (not that there’s anything wrong with Bohemian student-types).
There is no law. How on earth would you enforce it? It would be like trying to police sexual activity between consenting adults in private …err… bad example, but you get the point.
Toilets are not being rebuilt all over Sweden.
The article did not say anything about it being enforced in workplaces.
In other words, some Swedish women prefer their men to pee sitting down because it means they don’t leave the seat up and don’t pee on the carpet. Some Swedish men are happy to accede to this request. Big, fat, hairy deal.
Ok I’ll come clean. The story I posted about the Swedish laws wasn’t…well lets just say I wasn’t being 100% truthful. It does have a tiny element of truth, however (I think). I read in a newspaper that there was some sociology professor in Sweden who was of the opinion that the gesture of men standing up to pee was overly dominant, but people just laughed at her a bit and forgot about her. That much is (as far as I know, 100% accurate). I thought it was funny so I dressed it up a little and put it up here. I didn’t know you were all going to take it so seriously so I apologise.
However I do think that I have inadvertently raised a semi-serious point through all this which is that constant prosecutions for sexual harrassment are getting a bit too much for me. Sexual Harrassment Claims have almost tripled in recent years even though the laws have been getting tighter and men have been made more enlightened. Also I recall a case when a little boy (1st grade)was suspended from school for kissing a little girl (also first grade) on the cheek.
I’m not lying about this one. I don’t know how to do links (total technophobe) but if you enter this
into your browser you should find something on it.
Scroll down to the article entitled;
"GOVERNMENT FEMINISTS ON THE TRAIL OF DANGEROUS
THREE-FOOT-TALL
"HARASSERS"
I won’t say any more about it because the person who wrote the article in question says pretty much what I would.
BTW I also apologise if anyone was offended by the title of my thread. I do acknowledge that there is lots of real sexual discrimination which must be dealt with. In fact, I think that’s the very first line of this thread. when I said it was a crock of shit I meant cases like the little kid in the article I mentioned.
