I have to second Zenster here, a potluck just isn’t right with out lumpia (is that really how it’s spelled?).
I’m there. I’ll bring my Double Chocolate Grand Marinier with Chocolate Genache sauce Brownies.
Oh nooooo! I tried to reserve the rec room and movie room for Dec. 2 and it’s taken. What is the next best date for everyone? I went ahead and reserved the room for the 9th just in case (unfortunately, the big kitchen is unavailable for that date), but if a different date is better, please let me know ASAP so I can check availability.
A couple of other things:
If we want to go all out on the drinking and festivities (and I, for one, think we should), there are a few hotels a couple of blocks away. I can start getting rates and reservations for those interested.
I’m assuming this will be a pretty casual thing, but if anyone is eager to show off just how nicely they clean up, chime on in.
Looking forward to having everyone over!
I forgot to add that since Dec 9th might be cutting it a little to close to the holidays for some people, I would not be at all opposed to having it sooner than later. Just let me know what the best option is.
Where the hell are my manners? Thanks a million to everyone that has graciously volunteered to bring food and drink.
What about the third SeaDiver? I was sooooo afraid this was going to happen.
We may want to consider renting a hall or hitting a place that has the capacity. What about a church or lodge somewhere out there? Wherever it is we need to be close to BART or some form of public transportation.
Everybody, let’s put our brains together on this one.
SeaDiver, since you’re the one who is out there check around. Otherwise we may have to relocate this entirely to another place.
Oldscratch, I seem to recall you knowing of some places.
Somewhere on the penninsula might work better for the majority involved. Demo got any suggestions?
I am NOT making lumpia! That takes so long to cook for big groups. You can bring it and cook it, but I aint :). Besides, it’s not that good unless fried practically before it’s served, and I am not spending all day at the party over a pan of oil cooking them ;).
If you guys make it on a Sunday, I am so there!
Everyone wants Pat to be there, right?

Well, atleast the crickets like me. They are a funny bunch, plus they can dance like nobody’s business.

I’m good with a Sunday. At this point my schedule’s pretty much open accept for Thanksgiving weekend. I don’t know of any good and reasonably priced places to go. All I can think of is the hotels and restaurants around Jack London Square.
I just called again and asked about the 3rd. The kitchen is already spoken for and they can only officially reserve the game room on Wednesdays and Saturdays. That’s not to say I couldn’t get in there early in the day and start setting up to establish occupancy. Of course, having it on a Sunday kind of limits the excessive drinking, but we can get an early start.
Good news!!!
A personal friend is in the consideration phase of opening her house on the December 2nd date for the dopefest. She lives in Pleasanton, only one mile from BART and barely a mile or two from SeaDiver’s original location!!!
I will confirm with her tomorrow about this. I want her to have an ample opportunity to decide without any pressure.
If any of you want to assist in the process, please check back in at this thread and post a blurb about why you will make an intrigueing guest at her house. I have already assured her of some outstanding conversation, a potluck, some of my killer barbecue plus SeaDiver’s Playstation II and digital camera.
So, everybody say hi to my friend Cameran, and let her know what a Goddess she is to consider opening her house for us.
Please check this thread.
