You have three options:
a) Present a reasoned answer to this simple question.
b) Give the kind of flip non-answer you seem to be specializing in here.
c) Ignore the question completely.

I got a lot of hits on Google when searching the board for Shagnasty + gene + African,but this thread (Shag doesn’t appear until page 2, post #60) has some of his genetic arguments in it.

As a white person living in the South, I’m on board with this pitting of nevadexile. Shagnasty didn’t say anything wrong in the links provided by the OP - if only we all treated our enemies with the same amount of civility and courtesy.
Racism is not the “default setting” for southerners any more than it is for anyone else. It has to be taught. It sounds like nevadexile learned the lesson.
Oh, I know how to Google search the boards specifically, but in theory if this site’s search function weren’t so awful, it’d be a lot easier to search for posts specifically by Shags than to Google certain terms plus his username and pull up anything that contains those terms and also happens his name in it, and then go sifting through the threads. I couldn’t be bothered, but thankfully you and jsgoddess did the dirty work for me, so thanks for that!

Shags, don’t play with me. Are you going to equate what you’ve more or less admitted was a joke (according to you, my comment is racist only if taken literally - which no one in their right mind would, of course) with your 100% serious claims of “race realism”?
This NevadaExile person is clearly a complete fucking assclown. I’m surprised he’s (?) been around for close to three years, I’ve only noticed his assclownery recently. Is this a new username of someone who spent a lot of time assclowning under a different username?
Just to play Devil’s Advocate here, there seems to me to be a difference between what Shagnasty is saying and “traditional” racism. What he’s saying isn’t impossible or illogical, and it need not be based on bias or prejudice. In fact, it seems entirely likely to me that there could be small mental differences between races. I don’t see why we should assume that’s automatically incorrect except that it would be inconvenient and unpleasant if it were true.
What is it that’s disagreeable about Shagnasty’s post? Is he wrong, or is he correct but saying uncomfortable things? Does it make a difference?
Welcome to “scientific racism.” You can play Devil’s Advocate all you want, but saying that one race is smarter than another is racism. If you want to continue to fight that fight, you’ll have to find someone willing to have it with you. That person ain’t me.
Mr. Shagnasty’s Hogan’s Heroes comparison was just stupid and did not support his point. Other than that, Shagnasty comes off here looking like he knows what he is talking about and Chacoguy comes off looking like an ignoramus. Draftees do not Nazis make. SS volunteers (and all SS were volunteers) were members of the Nazi party. A Nazi is a member of the Nazi party.
I’m not interested in fighting any fight on this subject, and my hope is that the answer is that Shagnasty is wrong. As of yet, though, the prosecution against Shagnasty isn’t making a great case beyond the emotional one, which is useless to me.
If you can’t look at the words I’ve quoted and see racism, there is no case to be made for you. So-called scientific racism appeals to some people. You appear to be one of them. So, congratulations?
It isn’t technically racism simply because I know enough to realize there is no such thing as strictly delineated race especially when it comes to sub-Saharan Africans. Many of them are less related to each other than they are to most other people in the world. A better term would be ‘Populationist’. I do believe that much of the evidence supports that there are differences among populations both large and small.
However, there is no hate or malicious involved. I am just as happy to see some populations of Kenyans and Ethiopians consistently win marathons as I am when Jews rack up a statistically unlikely number of Nobel prizes in science. The difference could be genetic or biological or strictly environmental but the differences clearly exist today. I haven’t won anything remotely similar and probably never will but they are all welcome at a party at my house.
It’s actually this kind of reaction that led me to post in this thread. I’ve said nothing to lead you to the conclusion that scientific racism appeals to me. In fact, I’ve heavily implied the opposite:
And yet the fact that I even ask for a refutation beyond “racism is bad” is enough to put me in the “potentially racist; do not engage” pile. I would genuinely like to see a reasoned case against the post by Shagnasty that you quoted (or at least a relative authority on the subject to assure me he is wrong). Maybe it makes me a complete weirdo, but I like to know that my feelings are justified.
