Ugggh. Oddly enough, hubs is perfectly rational about everything not trump or vaccine related. Talking to him about COVID makes my head asplody, so I have given up.
Some people are just so immature that they can’t deal with the possibility of being wrong; similar to a recent president. It’s mind boggling.
You’re a fucking imbecile.
Moreover, no vaccine is 100% effective, if some unvaccinated genius like don Hoogly gets infected and then infects me I could die through no fault of my own just because he’s an idiot.
There are a few people with legitimate reasons to refuse the vaccine. I accept the principle people can choose whether or not to receive the vaccine, but admittedly with some difficulty. The legal precedents in Canada are clear. But I am not fond of anti-vaccination in general.
The arguments tend to be weak and are sometime irrational. Putting others at risk is irresponsible. This is especially so for people who work in industries that should know and understand this. People are fairly poor at judging risk, but better at ignoring advice or even rationalizing fanciful alternatives if this somehow serves their purpose.
No one came up with a vaccine for SARS and it has not returned to my knowledge. Presumably, it just mutated into a benign form. It is not obvious the same thing would happen with Covid and my understanding is the variants could cause present and future damage. It is unclear if one has reached a peak with this - or if so, the effect of future pandemics. Hopefully we have learned the right lessons. High unvaccinated rates suggest many have not.
My new favorite word!
In other news:
[An Alabama doctor Dr. Brytney Cobia] went on to share some of the regrets her unvaccinated patients have shared while hospitalized battling COVID. According to Cobia, many of her patients have held different beliefs about the virus that appear to have derived from conspiracy theories.
“They cry. And they tell me they didn’t know. They thought it was a hoax. They thought it was political. They thought because they had a certain blood type or a certain skin color they wouldn’t get as sick. They thought it was ‘just the flu’. But they were wrong. And they wish they could go back. But they can’t. So they thank me and they go get the vaccine. And I go back to my office, write their death note, and say a small prayer that this loss will save more lives.”
I find it interesting that if you ask questions about ones fears about the vaccine, you are anti vaccine. There are many reasons someone MIGHT not get the vaccine. I got mine but I understand why someone won’t. There has been so much mixed messages about them. It’s confusing.
There really have not been mixed messages about covid vaccination. Unless one watches Faux News. Then, sure, mixed messages abound.
There have not been mixed messages about the value of vaccines. There has been considerable noise on which vaccine is best, their efficacy versus specific variants, supply issues and whether to mix different ones, side effect incidence… but it is largely noise. Get two shots of whichever ones are being offered. If you have a choice ask for advice.
You are, without a doubt, one of the most reprehensible pieces of ignorant shit that I have ever encountered on this board. It’s a good thing that your posts are marginally illiterate but you’re too stupid to know it. If you can’t write worth a shit, with your opinions I think it’s a safe bet that you also can’t speak worth a shit, and most of all, can’t think worth a shit.
Read this, if you can read, or if you can think, both of which I rather doubt. You are a plague on humanity.
I shared more of that article above.
I know exactly why they don’t want the vaccine. They’re stupid gullible cowards. Every single one.
Some are selfish assholes, who know the value of the vaccine, but are counting on everyone else to get one so they can be safe. I talked to one the other day. Just didn’t give a shit about anyone else - a true sociopath.
Like the people who were told covid killed as many young people as old and believed it?
Who told them that? Cite please.
There is only one reason for people not getting vaccinated if they have access to a vaccine, and it is that they are fucking morons. I could not care less what happens to them. (They’re mostly just fucking Republikans anyway. Good riddance.)
Lots of people wondered because they worry about a repeat of the Spanish flu, which killed huge numbers of people under 40. There is a difference.
Already explained in this very thread, several times, including in great detail:
We’ve answered the question over and over. It’s not our fault you’re too stupid to understand the answer.
You know - “them”. “They” are saying that.
Well, technically there are also a tiny minority who cannot get vaccinated for legitimate medical reasons. But being a “fucking moron” is not a legitimate medical reason.
