You’re an idiot. 24 people died yesterday here, the whole country, withing 30 days of getting covid. That number is so low it’s quite possible none of them died directly from covid. Keep being hysterical though, if it works for you.

The source for that number is certainly low, especially when you’re sitting down.

It’s fair that we demand of Mr_Hoogly that he explain the excess deaths during the pandemic (and he can look up what “excess deaths” means, just to avoid any ambiguity).

What’s needed is a vaccine that holds up really well and a variant that just wipes out the unvaccinated from the gene pool.

I remember when the idiots were arguing that COVID wasn’t a threat to them because most of the deaths were over-80. Recently I was told it wasn’t a threat because it mostly affected over-40s.

We will eventually get to where the US is overwhelmingly vaccinated. The unvaccinated are going to die off. As there are fewer of them, there will be more of us.
In the short-term, we will probably reach some level of herd immunity within the next 2-4 weeks.
It’s good that vaccination rates are apparently skyrocketing right now - much needed.
To get there will take many months if not a yesr, and hundreds of thousands more deaths.
We trust our lives daily to science we don’t understand. We consume things daily whose composition we don’t know. But suddenly, people get reluctant to get the vaccine? Sorry, I think vaccine deniers are stupid, lazy and self indulgent.
