Shaving Thighs

I’ve never bothered shaving my thighs. The hair there is super fine and blonde, so it’s barely noticeable and just waaaay too much trouble to bother with.

I shave my thighs but not nearly as often as I shave my lower legs. The hair on just doesn’t seem to grow as quickly on my thighs. It’s also very thin and fine. So thigh shaving isn’t required very often.

Same here. I have shaved the whole leg a few times, and have always gotten razor burn on my thighs. Just not worth the trouble or the pain.

I have found that I shave more in the winter than the summer… I have to use moisturizer when we have the furnace on, and without the exfoliation of shaving the lotion will irritate my dry skin.

What are the sandpaper thingies called? I’d like to try them out.

I have such fine, sparse thigh hair that it’s not worth it to me to shave there. The two times I tried, all I got for my trouble (besides the hair removal) was ingrown hairs. Yuck. I’m fortunate enough not to have much body hair, and what I do have is light and fine, but I make up for it by having excess hair where I definitely don’t want it. (Hurray for hot wax!)

Me too. I look at women who are still wearing bathing suits that fit like panties on the bum, and I feel sorry for them. I am sooooo much more comfortable with my upper thighs covered.

I’ve always shaved up to the knee. I don’t seem to have any noticeable hair on my thighs…I don’t like the bottom half of my legs to have any hair on them though. I actually asked my husband to shave my legs the other day because I’m pregnant and can’t even see my toes much less shave my legs (there’s no way I’m going into labor with hairy legs thank you  )

Another one checking in here–I shave up to the knees, and the rest is unnoticeable.

I shave from the kneecap down, but I could probably stop shaving my legs altogether, and nobody but me would notice. My body hair is very pale and scanty (one of the few advantages of being a redhead).

I actually have a hard time shaving my thighs - the hair doesn’t seem to grow in the same direction there, and it’s hard to get it off. Since it’s so fine and light anyway, I don’t always bother.

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a picture of you, but you’re pretty in my head (does that just make me sound loco?) so that makes me feel a lot better. I have fuzzy toes, and I am major self concious about them.

Also, I shave to about three inches above the kneecap.

I am pale with dark red hair. The hair on my calves has always been much darker than anything on my thighs, and I only need to shave my thighs once every few months. I love to feel soft and smooth all over, but the hair on my thighs is superfine, and literally takes months to grow back - at least to the point that I notice it. I’m the only one who ever notices when it is time to shave them. My husband has rubbed his hands over what I thought to be “stubbly” thighs (though my thigh “stubble” is still very soft and fine) and he laughs at me and says I’m paranoid, since they are baby-smooth to him, and he can’t see any hair at all. I know it it’s there, that’s all I care about! But one quick shave leaves me smooth again for three or four months.

I sometimes shave my thighs, but only about 3-4 times a summer when I’m going to be in shorts/short skirts/bathing suits and that part of my legs will show. Otherwise, that hair is pretty thin and fine and isn’t really a problem. I probably don’t need to shave it at all but I’m paranoid and have overheard too many catty women saying mean things so I make sure they can’t talk about my hairy legs.

I only have to shave to the knees, and even that not terribly often- my leg hair is fairly fine.

I wonder if I have my Native American heritage (1/32 Cherokee) to thank for my relative lack of leg hair.

It seems to me that my leg hair has gotten finer and slower-growing since I went on the Pill- has anyone else had a similar experience?

My hair is all soft and blonde as well, but I shave my thighs.

The thighs get done- maybe- once every 2 or 3 weeks. The calves get done- maybe- once every week or two.

I like the silky feeling on my sheets.

I have dark hair all the way from my toes to my ass, ergo it’s all removed.

Anne, probably the NA heritage has something to do with that. My grandmother has never had to shave her legs. She’s about 1/16th Mohican.

Yeah, me too. Oh, you said months, not hours.

Just for the record, this hairy, pale-skinned brunette hates all of you fine, invisible-haired ladies.

Me too! But I’m holding out hope; my grandma doesn’t need to shave anymore. Unfortunately, I have a lot of years to go before I get to that point and see if I don’t have to (she’s going to be 85 this year).

When I wasn’t dating anybody I let the hair go in the winter when I was wearing pants all the time, but I don’t want to inflict my hairiness on anybody else. I am waaaaaay hairy.

why shave the thighs? 'cause if you ever wear a bathing suit, shorts, or a skirt in the sunlight, all that light-colored hair just glistens in the sun. I still don’t shave them as often, but I sure as hell do when I know I’ll be outside.

btw, I’m a toe-shaver, too. it’s not real noticeable if I don’t, but having hair on my toes makes me feel like a hobbit.

None of my partners has ever been shaved above the knee, but if they had I would have happily done that area as well.

All this talk about women shaving thier legs is hot. Any of you ladies need a hand?
