Oh, good, some boys stumbled in here. Why the heck is shaving legs hot? I just don’t get it. I don’t find my husband shaving his face hot - interesting, sure, but not hot. Shaving legs is a nuisance that I’ll put up with when the occasion calls for it - much like makeup and pantyhose, and it does feel nice to have cool-to-the-touch, smooth legs, but I just don’t get the “hot” thing.
None?! I had no idea that many women didn’t shave above the knee. I thought we pretty much all did.
I never did, because I never needed to. I had no idea that anyone did need to shave above the knee.
I don’t get why leg shaving would be considered hot, either. When I do it, I’m sure my efforts to keep my balance look really awkward.
Is that a turn-off for most men??? I have pale, fine hair on my forearms, too, and I don’t shave them. I know some women shave absolutely everything from the neck down, but is that really what men prefer to see?
It never occured to me to shave my thighs until one of my roommates berated me for it. The hair is so light that it really isnt noticeable most of the time, but if I am going out in a swimsuit then I shave them. Other than that, the lower leg is kept smooth while the thigh is pretty much ignored.
Anyways, the hair grows in all different directions, so it takes a long time to shave. I also tend to get razor burn up there, so shaving thighs is a rare and wonderful thing!
I never heard of anyone shaving just calves. Since you’re shaving anyway, why stop at knee?
OK, then. Men, why stop at the face if you’re shaving? Why not shave everything else?
Excuse me while I am mildly creeped out by my own suggestion.
You mean like the whole bathroom?
Bleah.
I shaved one once, and couldn’t tell the difference between the shaved and the unshaved thigh unless I took a piece of white paper and held the edge against my leg and held my face 4 inches away. Then, I could see the hairs. Couldn’t feel or see the difference between my thighs in any other way.
And I thought, how frequently is someone going to hold paper against my leg and look for hair from four inches away? So - I decided not to do that again.
The calf hair, OTOH, is visible and tangible. It needs to go.
It’s a pain in the ass to shave your thighs, but even if I can’t see it, I can feel it. I hate the feel of stubbily thighs while wearing shorts, so I shave them all summer. The rest of the year I can go weeks without shaving my thighs, since it really does seem to grow slower, then and slower than the hair on the calves too. Does leg hair actually grow faster during the warmer months in general? It really seems to.
The apricoty-blond hairs on my arms are very noticable, so I’m surprised that people with blond leg hair think people don’t notice. OTOH, my aunt asked me once years ago if Mom and I shave our legs, since she didn’t think redheads “need to.” hmm.
