Sheldon could be attracted to someone who could best him intellectually and who would be understanding of his handicaps. His realizing that a particular woman is his intellectual equal, his realizing that he wants to be with her, her realizing how to deal with him and what his strengths and weaknesses are, could be fodder for showing something that actually occurs in the real world: character growth. Which would indeed keep out of the rut that they seem to be veering on the edge of.
So done right, yes. Done in a way inconsistent with who Sheldon is or in a way that merely makes fun of him? No. Boring.
That’s a bad picture. I saw her in an interview last year and she looked great.
You think casting Blossom is a ratings stunt? For real? If someone doesn’t watch BBT and they see a commercial saying “This week guest starring Blossom!”, what part of that is supposed to drive them in?
I think they should just bring back Danica McKellar. Every episode.
Specifically a very special episode featuring her, a hot tub, margaritas, and Penny.
I’m sure Raj would be thrilled.
Wow. That Blossom really blew up, huh?
Relax, you’re making a big deal out of nothing. Pon farr only happens once every seven years, so even if Sheldon does get his freak on, we won’t see it again until BBT is in its tenth season.
News regarding the season finale from a friend who managed* to get into the audience for the filming:
Do you really want to know? You can probably guess.Leonard and Penny break up.
*: Because it was the season finale, most of the seats had been reserved for VIPs. Out of ~215 seats, only 32 were available for normal, standing-in-line people, although a few VIPs didn’t show and a dozen people on stand-by got in.
Fucking lame.
My mom never loved me… but she loved you!!
Warning to anyone who hasn’t yet read garygnu’s spoiler: It does not pertain to Sheldon and his love interest, as might have been guessed from the context, but rather to a different plot development.
::Shudder:: I keep thinking back to Sheldon’s caffeine reaction. Sheldon finally, actually, getting turned on by someone? Be afraid; be very afraid!
Definately a ratings stunt. Why? Because there is no good reason to use Mayim Bialik, other than the fact this is a show about very intelligent people And in real life Bialik is one of these people that is “so smart she’s scary.”
The same way it’s for ratings when they bring on Laurie Metcalf as Sheldon’s mom. Both Metcalf and Johnny Galecki were Roseanne alumnus.
I’m not saying this is the only show to do this. It’s done quite often, but it’s always done for the sake of ratings. I love Laurie Metcalf. I think she is sorely underrated and watching *Roseanne *in reruns, one realizes that Roseanne Barr owes much of the success of her show to Metcalf. And Metcalf was one of the few people on “The Big Bang Theory” regular or guest star, that was really funny and deserved to be on it.
Nevertheless the casting was done for ratings.
Isn’t everything on a TV show done for ratings? Shouldn’t it be? You want to produce something that people will like, and the ratings are a measure of what people like.
Next thing you know, restaurants will starting charging people for food!
And then watching to see if they* like* it!
So now she’s free to hook up with Sheldon? Or Leonard is, I’m not fussy.
