SHOCKING NEWS: Sean Hannity is a Lying Douchebag!

I fail to see the “shocking” in this news.

Yes, but you can’t tell him to fuck himself. Go figure.

The “proud tradition” comment matters because the Fox reporter demanded Obama credit Democrats and Republicans with winning the Cold War. Obama did so, but Fox omitted it because it doesn’t fit their argument about Obama refusing to give Americans credit for their role.

No such demand was made. The reporter alluded to the fall of the iron curtin being the result of leadership from American Democratic and Republican presidents, not that Democratic and Republican presidents ‘won’ the Cold War.

Obama clearly struggled in coming up with even their last names, and seemed to struggle again in connecting them up with their respective countries. But that isn’t a big deal. Obama can’t know everything about everything, and the struggles of those two countries are several decades old. Still, Obama seems over-eager either to apologize for the U.S. or to downplay its role in positive developments around the world.

Again, the ‘credit’ he gave the U.S. (that he’s ‘proud of the traditions of Democratic and Republican presidents to lift the iron curtin’) is pretty lame, IMO, and not particularly noteworthy.

No, I don’t think they say the same thing at all. Obama merely made a weak-sounding comment about how he’s of course 'proud of the traditions of Democratic and Republican presidents to lift the iron curtin (in other words, appearing to expose life behind it but little else), vs. Walesa’s statement of outright gratitude to the U.S. and Ronald Reagan for Polish independence.

In other words, Obama’s statement was wishy-washy and still seemed reluctant to give credit where due when it came to the U.S.’ role in the fall of the iron curtin, where Walesa was bold and unflinching in stating his view that Poland’s freedom was due to the U.S. and Ronald Reagan.

Obama’s presidency so far has been marked by an attempt to either apologize for the U.S. or to downplay it’s influence around the world. I know why he’s doing it, and reasonable men of good will can disagree as to whether or not that’s a good thing to be doing right now, but facts are facts, and people are not lying when they point out Obama’s reluctance to give the U.S. credit where due.

You could, but then you’d be a lying douchebag.

You do know how pathetic this sounds, right?

Seeing as you aren’t smart enough to understand why Hannity did a bad thing, I don’t think I’ll take your criticism too harshly.

Seething, children like yourself are all that’s left of the republican party. The stupid, the angry and the ignorant. And it really seems like you’re pushing for the hat-trick.

See, there you go again.

Where did anyone say Reagan was the sole reason for the end of any of these things?

Nowhere, that’s where!

It sorely undermines your position when you can’t respond honestly to what someone else has said.

Irony!

Here’s another compilation:

The first and last examples are particularly egregious. The second is the one that prompted the OP.

Hannity is a fucking liar.

Hmmm…

Oh yeah, that’s not a demand, that’s an allusion. Silly me.

I don’t particularly care for Hannity. In fact, I almost actively dislike him.

But as I said upthread, facts is facts, and the fact is that the OP is wrong about virtually everything he said. Hannity did not make up some insane lie to make it look like Obama didn’t know history; Obama did not answer the question “quite well”; and Hannity most certainly did not cast aspersions to the effect that Obama HATES AMERICA!"

So there, put that in your smipe and poke it!

Once again…is this a joke? Reagan and the US had little to no role helping to free Poland from the Soviet regime. Surely you don’t actually believe that one pandering speech actually brought about the fall of the iron curtain?

What part of history did Obama fail to show knowledge of? What part of the question did he fail to answer?

Starving Artist, are you even aware of what you’re writing here? Are you aware that we can all view the clip in question and it’s absolutely, positively clear that you’re wrong?

You know, you don’t have to reflexively, automatically rail against every single point made by anyone to the left of Hannity.

Pace yourself. Choose your arguments. Otherwise, you end up looking like a… well you know.

As to the OP…I’m shocked, SHOCKED! And here I always thought Sean Hannity was a paragon of accurate, well informed and unbiased cable news! Sad…very sad…

:stuck_out_tongue:

I love this comic book stuff. Once again…surly you don’t believe that Reagan and the US’s sole action was ‘one pandering speech’, or that the Soviet Union just disintegrated all on it’s own…do you? Certainly there were a lot of factors, and a lot of players…but your comic book ‘Reagan and the US had little to no role’ is just about as stupid as the folks who say that Reagan and the US were solely responsible.

That “tear down this wall” speech has to be the biggest pile of post hoc fallacy bullshit in the history of American politics.

Disgusting, the fact that this guy is one of the most popular hosts on a “News” channel is utterly disgusting.

Only if I can watch.

“Silly you” is right. My answer was in response to Marley23’s contention that the reporter demanded that Obama admit that the Cold War was won by Democratic and Republican presidents, when in reality the reporter said that is was won due to the leadership of American presidents.

Let me see if I can put it in simpler terms that even you might understand. Let’s say a quarterback, through his leadership ability, leads his team to victory against a tough opponent. Would you say that the quarterback won the game or that the team won it, thanks in large part to the quarterback’s leadership?

The reporter alluded to the role of American presidents’ leadership in breaking down the iron curtin. He didn’t say that American presidents won it.

It’s the Iron Curtain, for fuck sakes! I thought once was a typo but every time! Come on!

Iron Curtain
Give up on the starving artist thing and feed your brain! Please!
