But really, the guy did used to be funny. Somewhere along the line Vinyl Turnip degenerated into telling “that time of the year again?” jokes. I’m surprised he didn’t post something about bringing up a lawn chair to a pit thread or begin his post with “In Soviet Russia…”

A Monkey with a Gun is cheating. He is pretending that VT’s post was a joke. It wasn’t a joke. It was a complaint. The complaint is that it’s dumb for folks to be still pitting the ‘regards’ thing.
It’s overdone, it’s old, it’s silly, who cares. It really is time to go into acceptance on this. Shodan has a thing. That’s his thing. It grates on some and he knows it and so sometimes it is meant as more of dig than other times, but nevertheless, it is a tiny two word expression and something that by now we should all have trained our eyes to gloss over.
So, that’s it. VT pointed that out, and you tried to paint it as if he was trying to post one of his gut busting ass funny posts that crack me up all the time. Nope. He wasn’t. He was just pointing out your silliness.

I’ve never understood why it bothers so many people that he signs off with ‘regards’ and his name. It’s just an idiosyncratic quirk, IMHO…like my own signature at the end of every post. I’ve been doing it so long that I don’t even know WHY I do it anymore…just habit at this point.

It bothers me how much hate the fact that I think so frequently about how much I hate people who complain about people that hate the people that complain with a semi-annual frequency about Shodan’s frequent sign-off.
