It occurs to me that people who sign off of every post with their own name are a bit like Donald Trump and his Vegas Hotel. They build a castle in the sand and the last thing they do is put their name on it in big letters just so everybody knows that it is their castle in the sand.
I just thought of a sig for myself. What do you guys think of seeing this at the end of every one of my posts?

I am completely illiterate. I do not know how to read or write. I also do not speak a word of English. Every post I make has been painstakingly memorized character by character without the slightest knowledge of what it actually says.

Not every post, just the OP. I know not everyone does it, but it just feels wrong somehow not to end it like that. Do I get a pass on that or is it somewhere in the texts and I just haven’t found it yet? Or worse yet, do I have to fork over the dough to get the updated edition (I think they’re up to six volumes, but I’m pretty sure the last few chapters are still being peer reviewed)?
I only ever sign off when I’m responding to Shodan. I generally use “With all due respect.”
What a wonderful set up line! Feeling rather generous and good natured at the moment, but confident someone will come along soon.
IF Monkey still cares (if he ever really did) and IF my memory is correct, this is sort of why Shodan signs his posts - habit from doing it in email. Originally anyway, he probably does it now to see how long it takes someone to start another one of these threads…
I halfway care. It’s not a serious issue to me, but I halfway cared when I wrote the OP and I still halfway care. It’s just an annoying behavior on his part, but I suspect the guy knows it’s an annoying behavior and does it for that very reason. It’s a mild for of trolling, and that irks me a bit.
I did send a PM to Shodan asking him why he does that, but he hasn’t responded as of yet. However, even if he does respond I am not going to post it here because, well, I’m just not going to post a private message.
