In normal society, if I have a kid he goes to school at some point, and out in public. That way, if they’re getting beaten or diddled, they have access to people who can help them, or someone can see the signs and report me. And if I as a normal person don’t send my kid to school and someone gets wind of it, someone will come to my house and check on it. If you chose to not follow the rules of normal society, and you have minors, normal society must be alowed to make sure you aren’t harming them.
Can you name one of these crazy cults where pyshical and sexual abuse did not go on? As for muslims with multiple wives in the US- there’s a difference between multiple adult wives and multiple child wives, no?
With the Jeffs group and other polygamist sects, there is ample probable cause. Testimonies from literally hundreds of people who have been expelled from or voluntarily fled from the compounds or are related to those who have indicate the amount of pedophilia and sexual abuse going on as well as gross financial improprieties and all manner of intimidation. This isn’t just the same as sending Rambo Reno to break through the door of a lesbian couple’s home (though it probably wouldn’t be the first time- just the first time without the rightful ownership of a microwave and certain Egyptian cotton bath towels being in dispute) but a response to a mountain of evidence and testimony about real crimes being committed.
