I don’t like that at all. It look dated. It’s the Joan Jett hairstyle.
Another yes vote. Influenced by Demi Moore in Ghost, I had a pixie in the early '90s (or whenever it was) and loved it. Of course that was cough*several pounds ago.
But dated is in right now, as weird as that sounds.
But I agree that she looks best in pic #4. How much work is that? And I agree that pixie cuts are hard to pull off. It doesn’t work unless you have a fairly tall face, otherwise your face looks squished.
I’d go with the second option. The curls really, really make it work. With straight hair (as in #2), you wind up looking like every other Asian girl, and you are too pretty for that.
I vote no, I almost universally prefer longer hair on women.
ETA: you’d still look good either way, it’s just my personal preference…
I’m also going to vote no on the pixie. You have a face shape similar to mine and I’ve been told by three stylists that really short hair would only make my face look wider and rounder. Like BigT says, it’s a style best carried off by the narrow of face.
I’m going to pimp my favorite website for haircut ideas – voila!. The links on the left side of the page will take you to sections of the website for long, medium, short (and updo styles) hair. The site is great because most of the pages for each cut show the hair from front, side, and back, so your stylist can get a solid idea of the shape. Plus, the models are so varied in terms of face shape that you can get a good sense of what would work on you and what wouldn’t.
even then, I’m not sure I care for it… Emma Watson is a knockout with long hair, now she looks sorta like Justin goddamn Bieber.
I’ll echo some others in saying that any of them would look great, but #3 seems to be the least flattering cut of them (and, incidently, the one that made me go “how did she photograph herself from inside a wastebasket? oh…”)
I think a pixie might be a very hard look for you. If you are looking to set a more aggressive mood, then great, go for it! You are lovely enough to get away with just about anything you want to try.
I really like this one though: http://www.beauty-box.jp/style/short/li136.html
Shorter than you’ve tried before, but just enough left to let you go with a softer look when you want it.
Either way, I have to say that I absolutely love having my hair short. I had elbow-length hair for most of my life. When I went short, it was a real education in just how much more time other people have in their day. Washing, rinsing, drying styling - all in about five minutes. I figured out that I had saved two weeks per year. Never again. Long hair is pretty, but ti’s not worth that.
And in the end, it turns out that hair can still frame the face exactly yhte way we want it to do, without its having to be long.
Do it! You can definitely pull it off - I love pic #2. Women with short hair radiate a lot more confidence to me.
Go for curls.
What have you decided “HazelNutCoffee?” The more I think of it for me - by mid summer i think, it’s coming off.
I’m still on the fence. The pixie cut is a lot cheaper than getting curls, which will set me back a hundred bucks or so (cut costs around 30). I usually wouldn’t care about the cost (I splurge on my hair once or twice a year) but I’ve had some unexpected expenses recently so I might wait until next month before making a decision.
I’ll post pictures once I actually do the deed.
Damn Hazel! You could go with medusa cut and still look good!
I love you in pictures #1 and #2. I think you’d probably look absolutely adorable in a pixie, and if not, it’ll grow back to #2 in no time. How about trying it first virtually on one of those websites where you upload your picture with your hair pulled back and try on a hairstyle? I’d do it for you myself using photo #1, but it’s late and I’m going to bed. And I forgot the name of the website.
I’m a guy and my general advice to all women is don’t cut your hair. I’d say the first picture you posted (shoulder length) is best, followed by “Even longer hair with curls.”
You’re a babe by the way.
