Shower Before Bed Or In The Morning

In the morning, I don’t like going to bed with wet hair. If I’ve been doing something to get me dirty I might shower at night.

Morning shower to start the day. Other showers as needed.

Two showers a day: morning when I wake up, because my hair is sort of sweaty and gross after being slept on for 8 hours, and afternoon after the gym. It also helps wake me up, both in the morning when I am tired and annoyed because I am getting up too early for my body, and in the afternoon when my body wants to give out because it got up so early that morning.

I like to work out in the mornings so I shower after I get done. If I do something during the day that gets me dirty I’ll shower after that activity is done. On the weekends when I’m laying around doing nothing I don’t shower unless I plan on being around people.

Morning, because my hair looks like hell after I’ve slept on it. If I could get away with two showers a day I would because a good shower is relaxing, but my skin would fall off. I go through ridiculous quantities of lotion as it is.

First thing in the morning on weekdays. Weekends are a little more freewheeling.

Both. I like being all clean when I climb into bed, and yet I could never go to work in the am without a shower.

Whenever I get around to it – usually midday sometime. I work from home, so timing isn’t an issue. I don’t need it to wake up in the morning, and I generally don’t get grimy enough during the day to need that pre-bed hose-off.

Mostly in the morning, for the last 30 years that I’ve been white collar. Before that, working as a letter carrier or running a used diesel truck and equipment yard, I alway showered in the evening to scrape off all the crud.

I shower before bed.

Unless I have to be clean after work for some reason (I work from home) then I shower in the middle of the day.

My hair air-dries and it takes at least 3 hours so I can’t just shower up before I go somewhere, unless I want to go there with a wet head.

Anecdote: When I was in high school, I was in the jazz band. We took a 3-day trip around Ohio on a bus, playing 5 shows. The second day, we stayed in a hotel. Everyone was tired and grimey from playing shows and sitting on a bus. Out of the 18 kids on the trip, only myself and one other person took a shower before bed because everyone else was a “morning showerer.” When we woke up in the morning, there was no water in the hotel. All the other kids - and the chaperones - had to go across the street to the gas station and do a whore’s bath in the gas station bathroom. HA!

Put the coffee on, get in the shower & wash hair. Coffee’s done when I am. The perfect wake-up routine.

Back when I had to sweat for a living, I showered in the evening.

every morning. (some exceptions on weekends–afternoon perhaps then)

But a quick one before bed if I’m thinking sex might be happening. That’s just polite.

Morning, for multiple reasons:

  1. It wakes me up
  2. My hair gets messed up while I sleep, and getting it wet is the easiest way to fix it.
  3. I often get hot at night and sweat in my sleep
  4. Sometimes I have sex at night so I’d want to shower before work anyway.

Who can sleep all tacky when they could have showered in the evening?

Both

I do a quick shower in the morning to wake up (and my wife and kid use most of the hot water anyways!) and then I take a long hot shower before I go to bed and I have all that hot water to myself too! Don’t have to worry about my hair being wet as it is at most 1/8" long and I can towel dry it.

I shower in the morning, because it makes shaving more pleasant. Since I’m clean-shaven, I have to do it pretty much every day, so therefore I shower in the a.m.

Took the words right outta my mouth.

M-F, shower first thing in the morning. I get really crazy bed head and without a good shampoo, running a comb or brush through it doesn’t do jack squat. Plus I just feel the need to wash the nighttime off of me. Mon, Wed & Fri I work out at lunch and do a quickie shower before I head back to work- head/pits/crotch/feet, just the critical areas.

I sit at a desk all day so don’t really get “dirty”; I’m still fairly clean when I get between the sheets.

Saturdays, I’ll just get up and start working on whatever indoor or outdoor project I have lined up for the day, then shower around 5 pm. Then happy hour starts. Sundays, shower before church, then continue Saturday’s project, then shower again before dinner to wash the grime off. Then, of course, happy hour.

My evening routine is: Dinner, 30 minutes TV, 30-45 minutes Wii Fit, Shower, bed.

My morning routine is: Hit the snooze alarm. Hit the snooze alarm. Hit the snooze alarm. Roll out of bed and curse the world about being awake. Brush hair, brush teeth, potty, put on clothes, stumble to the train.

I couldn’t fit a shower into all the snooze alarming and cursing in the morning so it has to go into the evening routine. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sometimes one, sometimes the other, sometimes both.

Not much help, I know.

If I do a strenuous workout after I get home from my job (running, long ride) I really need a shower. I usually won’t take a shower the next morning (but I’ll wash my face - previous g/f described my skin as “self lotioning”).

If I didn’t do anything sweaty before going to bed I shower in the morning, unless I sleep through my alarm and wake up with ten minutes to clean up, dress, take care of the cat and get out the door on time. And then when I get home at the end of the day I think “I didn’t have a shower this morning, I ought to hop in right now”.

And sometimes I take a shower before bed and then “sleep hot” and wake up sweaty so I need a shower that morning.
