The morning, always.
I’ve gone back and forth over the years, but in the four months since I’ve moved to my current residence, I’ve been exclusively a morning showerer. Generally, I’ve just been too tired/lazy at night by the time I’m going to bed to hop in the shower, even though I generally sleep better after a shower.
I’ve always showered in the evening. I hate getting into bed without feeling clean.
I need my morning shower, to avoid looking like a tramp.
However if I go swimming or if I feel particularly greasy I have a quick shower at night too.
If some action is expected, I do shower before sleeping. But unfortunately I haven’t done that in a long time…
Umm…well, both, really. I don’t really have a set showering schedule. I prefer doing it in the morning because my hair ends up looking better, but if I’m feeling really grody I’ll shower at night.
People who shower before bed puzzle me exactly like people who brush their teeth before eating breakfast.
…Maybe they are the same
Before bed, because I am very impatient when it comes to grooming, and I do NOT want to wait hours for my hair to dry before I can even wrestle it into submission. Shower in the evening, and if I wait too long and I go to bed with it damp, oh well…it still beats getting up two hours early every day when I could be SLEEPING. <no, hair dryers are not an option, ugh>
I am a big fat sponge.
It would seem that no matter how thoroughly I try to dry myself off, my skin retains water very well. So if I shower in the morning and get dressed pretty quickly (which tends to be the norm as AM time is short), I tend to get my undershirts damp by the time I get to work. This also contributes to a very sweaty morning if it is humid at all.
Therefore, I try to shower at night before I go to bed. I understand that this doesn’t make me cleaner, as our beds are full of buggies and junk more than I’d like to admit, but it does well in my mind. Also, I can get out of the shower and “air-dry” before I actually hit the bed and watch late night TV.
Excellent username/post combo!
I’ve been going with nights lately, because it’s so relaxing. Back when I could get out of the house more often, I was always a morning showerer because I thought I sweated too much at night. I have to have it really warm to sleep.
What is this ‘shower’ whereof you speak?
I like to have a bath in the evening. A nice long soak. And I have a quick bath in the morning.
Shower in the morning and evening.
I got into the habit of showering in the evening when I had hair down to my butt. It’s thick and would take 8+ hours to fully dry. I hate being out and about with wet hair all day, so I’d shower at night so it’d at least be mostly dry when I woke up.
After I cut it to shoulder-length I ended up with jobs that got me all grungy. Taking a shower after work was necessary and just felt amazing. I have an office job now, but still prefer showers at night. I’ll take one in the morning if I need it, but I still hate going to work with wet hair.
In the morning for me. I sometimes jump in to the shower before bedtime but only because there’s already somebody in there showering.
Early evening. I have a TV in my bathroom so I can listen to News Hour while I shower.
Since I’ve been a working adult, I shower in the morning… helps wake me up, lets me get my hair styled (if I’m bothering). Before then, back in college, I always showered later in the day, when I was, yanno, actually dirty.
Since I work in an office, I’m not terribly grungy at the end of the day.
Well, when I lived in Texas, BOTH (and sometimes again during the sweltering day).
Nowadays, I sometimes take a BATH at night, just to relax, but ALWAYS shower in the morning. May be a 5 minute shower if I’ve bathed the night before, but I do it, just to feel/smell fresh and wake up.
Every morning. If I don’t I feel like shit most of the day.
I shower after I get home.
It’s gotta be when I wake up.
My hair simply does not cooperate after I have slept on it without soap and hot water.
I don’t even have a fancy style - I’m a man with shortish hair. This isn’t a bad approximation of my current haircut (I have a bit more length on top, and my color is dark brown), though of course I’m far more handsome.
kidding, and mine has a lot more gray through it. I blame my mother. I finally got her to admit she went gray in her early 20s, just like I have.
But when I wake up, it’s literally going in 17 different directions. A simple combing or brushing does nothing, it will pop right back into a crazy ass bed-head look.
Even fully wetting it is insufficient. I need a shower, shampoo, hot water to tame the beast that is my hair.
Yeah, this. If I went to bed with wet hair, not only would I be uncomfortable, I’d have to take another shower in the morning to get it looking normal again.
