Shower every day?

Twice a day at least. Over here, you’re generally covered in sweat day and night year-round as soon as you step outside of air-conditioning, so you really need to. Very often, 10 minutes after you’ve showered, you’re all sticky again.

Twice a day whether I need it or not. Water is at a premium in Las Vegas but as I don’t have a lawn and it’s hot and dusty 8 months out of the year, it’s a little treat for myself.(and my wife)

I used to shower every morning because my hair needs it (very fine, and has to be washed and blow-dried in order to look presentable enough to go out in public).

However, I noticed a couple years ago that my skin was getting a lot drier (especially in our very dry, cold prairie winters). So much so that I had to use moisturizer a couple times per day, using a very thick “body butter”-type lotion after showering. But all that moisturizing (even with “light” lotions) often gave me zits, especially on the face.

So I switched to taking a full shower every second day (or sometimes every third) and still washing my hair every morning.

Of course, if I’m exercising heavily or otherwise stinky I’ll take a full shower more often - I’m pretty paranoid about having BO and I always use antiperspirant. Like WhyNot, I’ve found that it also works well to prevent cleavage chafing, and sometimes in the summer I’ll use a spray antiperspirant on my feet to prevent excessively sweaty feet when I’m wearing certain sandals that make my feet sweaty and stinky.

I invariably wake up in the morning with greazy hair, oily face, smelly pits, and reeky groinal area. If I don’t shower, I am not fit to be around other human beings.

Thanks, Doc! Now I know how to describe myself on Day 2 without bathing.

I shower every weekday morning. On weekends I’m usually working on or outside the house so I wait until the end of the day and rejuvenate by washing all the grime and nasties off. Also, in the morning when I get out of bed I often feel like I resemble a Picasso painting- face all sort of out of whack. After a shower, I’m all tightened up and back to normal.

Once in the morning, each day. One day this week, I woke up late for class (my 12 o’ clock class :o) and didn’t have time to shower, and then had a concert, and then didn’t get home until about 10PM, so I felt really gross. It’s a perception thing, I guess, because I know that my body isn’t absolutely disgusting, but I have oily skin and don’t like how it feels.

Every morning. I’m not a morning person and I spend the extra 20 minutes in the shower trying to wake up. Sometimes I’ll have a bath before bed too, just because I like it.

I usually shower every other day, but I wash my hair every day.

Like others have said, my hair is really fine and gets greasy real quick. About 24 hours after washing, my hair feels greasy but presentable enough. Thing is if I don’t wash it before I go out (at the greasy but presentable ppoint) and am out all day my hair is looks horrible and lanky as if I haven’t showered in a week (and I know this from times when I couldn’t shower for 5 days straight… my hair looks the same on days 2 through 5, with slight variation).

As long as I put on deoderant, or do a swipe with the face cloth, two to three days are the max I can go before I start to smell or feel really skanky. The only time I don’t shower by day 3 is when I’m out camping. There’s not usually showers around and most everyone stinks anyway, so I just wait until I get home.

I usually shower at night, because in the mornings in the winter it is too cold (rumour is that they are installing new windows this summer… I hope so, it’ll be much warmer) and in the summer, I’m hot and sweaty by the time I get home and want to cool down. I’d do two showers a day in the summer but if I do more than one a day my skin dries out horribly (except where it’s oily of course).

Every morning, but I only actually soap up groin, pits, face, and hair (generally in opposite order, though).
I take a full shower where I actually soap and scrub every part of me once or twice a week at most, unless I’ve been sweating heavily or I’ve otherwise become actually dirty.

I find I either need to shower every day or like once a week. Showering removes a lot of skin enzymes, and it dries your skin out in the short term if you go the next day without showering, but the oils replenish over a couple of days and it’s not as bad. I’ve noticed this from going camping.

I shower every morning. I don’t get particularly stinky or greasy - I just don’t feel dressed if I don’t, even if I put on clothes.

Add to this the incredible amounts of fresh water all this over-zealous bathing wastes. We each have our own hygenic requirements, and if your requirement is daily (or twice daily) bathing, I have no comment on that, but we all need to think about how much fresh water we waste on a daily basis. The abundant fresh water we have isn’t going to last forever, but nobody seems very concerned about that.

My husband and I bathe about every other day or as needed when getting sweaty and dirty (I do a lot of yard work - installing drought-tolerant plants). I don’t think we’re particularly stinky or greasy.

Only if I’m going outside of the house, or having company that day.

I shower every weekday before work ‘cause I like feeling fresh and having freshly styled hair. On weekends, I generally work out in the mornings and if I have something planned outdoors, I’ll wait to shower but if I’m doing something like going shopping, I’ll take a shower. Some weekends I won’t shower at all (if I dont’ get too grubby) 'cause I think a break is good for your hair and skin. But I’ll only do that if I’m not planning on going out in public.

Every day. In the morning. Sometimes I will take a quick shower at night too, but that’s kinda rare. If I have nowhere to go on a particular day, I might skip it - but never for more than one day. My hair is very fine and gets oily quickly.

I shower every day except sometimes on Saturday if I won’t be leaving the house. My hair gets smushed overnight and I feel greasy if I don’t shower. I’m sure I wouldn’t smell quite right either.

Alas, I have no shower. But I take a quick bath every workday morning. Might not shampoo every day.

Maybe a quick rinse in the afternoon. This is Houston, Texas!

I shower every day once I get home and don’t plan on going anywhere else that day. In the summer, sometimes twice. If I’m feeling particularly homebodyish and don’t go anywhere at all, I’ll skip showering a day or even, occasionally, two. Three days, though, my scalp starts itching and I generally feel way too grubby so I haven’t waited that long in a long time.

There’s that too. Often if Mr. S and I are going to be bathing at the same time (OK, not necessarily both in the tub at the same time, but say we’re getting ready to go out), we share the same water.
