Shriekers here - MrDibble, Der Trihs

That’s a stupid fucking statement right there. Using a commonly understood communicative construct without verbose caveats makes you a racist?

Shrieker.

That’s, ah… not exactly what happened there, magellan.

Coward. Stay here and take your licks, don’t let magellan flail on his own!

You pitted me, remember? Least you owe me is some actual, you know, vitriol.

OMG punctuategasm!?!!?? /dies

Sob. I got the name of a restaurant in a TV show wrong by one letter.

Win: Marley. (But keep in mind he gets to eat there with Jerry Seinfeld. I’ve never been.

And if you think you should be fair to other posters, arguing against what they actually say; claim they said what they actually said, care about honesty, and think it behooves one to admit when they make an error, look to Marley and do the opposite of that.

Oh, well in that case…

To be fair, I do know what it means in a casual American context. But that wasn’t the context that particular discussion was happening in.

No. Stubbornly clinging to using a discredited, outmoded, pseudoscientific concept willfully, in a context where it has been proven and acknowledged to be bad science, makes you a racist.

Violet Fungus.

I thought it was going to be a thread warning MrDibble and Der Trihs about the shriekers.

Yeah, I expected you do, and I didn’t mean to imply that you didn’t, although my post could easily have been read that way.

Mainly, though, I object to the use of “in this country” as if everyone who posts here is an American with an American view of things. Shouldn’t be surprising that our small-minded OP just assume that.

Reported for forum change.

Real restaurant. Kinda famous. Do go on…

And then our intrepid heroes found themselves in the part of the thread where magellan01 acts shocked and outraged and says things like “unbelievable” over and over again. For lo, magellan01 failed to understand that his performance is not very effective because he pulls it about once a week and thus looks less like a stunned person and more like an attention whore who enjoys acting outraged.

Please! Could you not shriek so loudly?

Appropriately enough, shriekers attract the attention of wandering monsters. Kobolds, goblins, orcs, gnolls, you get the idea.

You’re still wrong. You’re still dishonest. And you are of low character.

But you know that the restaurant mentioned in a TV show was a real one. I’m so happy for you.

Just so you know, I think most people on the board would take those kind of insults as a compliment, coming from you.

I said I wanted to see what the context is, so I want a link to the post. Obviously we can’t rely on your interpretation of it. (And I’m not going to take your word that it was “precisely the post” until you demonstrate it.)

Ah, and now we get the totally useless poster dropping by. How soon before you run away this time, dummy?

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words. I honestly feel better if that’s your judge of my character.

Someday, not today but someday, someone will have to explain to me how thinking someone is a racist makes me a racist. Someday.

Not today.

For the love of god, not today.
