I’m driving home from irk; I’m the first car stopped at a red light, in the right lane. There are no cars behind me & only 2 or 3 in the left lane. A car pulls up to my right, in the parking/curb lane & proceeds to jump the light. At the next light, he’s in the left lane & I’m in the right when I hear a “Roooprooooo”. Yup, every once in a while karma decides to bitchslap some a-hole & there really IS a cop around when you want one!
And he didn’t bust you for texting?

I worked, I came home, I ordered pizza. Delivery guy liked my Blackhawks jersey. I got some bad news. 3 of my friends in Detroit had their house robbed and firebombed. They lost everything, including both cats.

I had a “they’re around when you need one” experience today myself. As previously mentioned, my car broke down (yet again) today. While waiting for a bus, DH and I noted a man who was drunk, mentally ill, or both, wandering around the street, not only on the median divider, but in traffic lanes. I called 911, and while still on the phone with a dispatcher, a police car shows up and scoops up the subject in question. We concluded that probably either someone else had called this person in sooner than I did or that the officer happened to be in the area and spotted this situation.
Irk today was OK. A problematic customer apparently gave a co-worker a bad time (including profanity), but management is aware of the problem, so hopefully will decide we don’t need this “person’s” business that badly. I just flat ignored said customer (who seems to consider a friendly “good morning” obnoxious) while in my section.
F pulled a not-too-bright one today. Yeah, he’s an immigrant, but I know his English is at least good enough to read a work schedule. He tried to show up in our now-former department today, on tomorrow’s schedule in the new department, and wasn’t thrilled to find out that no, he couldn’t just work his scheduled hours several hours early, he needed to be there through closing as scheduled.
Sorry. Neither. (well, maybe one)

Did have one really sweet moment today. I was admiring a customer’s baby, and the little guy practically launched himself from his mother’s arms to mine, then snuggled his head down into my shoulder all content.

Jeez, I wish I could sleep more. It’s not even 5am, and I’ve got three pots of stock going on the stove. Pork, chicken, and turkey. Plus, I’ve got a batch of Summer Sausage in the oven. I wanted to smoke it, but it’s going to be warm and humid today, and I wasn’t about to sit out there, and babysit the smoker. I’ve got to run to the store later, too. At least I don’t have to get a lot of stuff. I’ll wait until it gets light before I do that. There is laundry that seems to breed, also. There really wasn’t that much there, the last time I looked. I don’t know where it comes from! There must be a wormhole in the laundry room, somewhere.
Currently, I’m taking a break from the vacuuming. I have to vacuum more than once a day. Even more now, since the dogs are shedding like crazy. Oh, the joy. I wouldn’t have it any other way, though. I lurves my dogs! Oh, and the cats, too.
This is the weekend my husband has to stay out on the road, so he’ll have been gone for two weeks by the time he gets home next Saturday. He has to do this once a month.

Up, fed, and caffeinating. Much laundry will be done today, but not at the moment. **FCD **is snoozing and the idiot animals have finally calmed down. The birds are singing like crazy - I love having the windows open!! A few more days, anyway… <sigh>
We’ve been watching season 3 of Scandal on Netflix, and we’ve got one more episode to go. I swear, that show gets more ridiculous the longer it goes on. And yet we’re hooked. This season reminded me of a time in FL at a party when a group of us were sitting around, drinking :eek: as we tried to come up with ideas for a future party. Each idea was more outrageous than the one before and we were laughing like idiots so much that I could hardly breathe. I’m wondering if that’s how they came up with all of the plot twists. That show is nuts!!!
We’re also rewatching Orange is the New Black in anticipation of next week’s release of season 2. And we’re hooked on House of Cards, another twisted program. I guess we balance that by watching The Big Bang Theory for silliness and all those science shows we like, but no “reality” shows. And spousal unit lurves L&O-SVU, which I got sick of watching years ago. If we were a Nielson family, we’d probably melt down their monitoring machine.
Thus beginneth the day at FairyChatEstates - I should probably put a load of towels in the washer.

Today’s plans include, well, not much. I need to do some laundry and make a pasta sallit and a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea for brunch tomorrow over to the church house. Ima grill up some chikin strips, cube 'em up and make the sallit with chikin (duh!), pasta (duh!), frozen peas ‘n carrots, cucumbers and dress it with a light Eyetalian dressin’. Makes a gooooooooood sallit!
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy is gettin’ hongry. Then, well, we’ll see how soon I get motivated.

(sobering) Up, fed, contemplating doing a food shop. It’s 109 outside so I’m in no hurry. I go back home in two weeks :D, looking forward to seeing the family, some home comforts and rain.
First load is on the lines, second in the washer, not sure how many more I can fit out there. We shall see. I also need to head to the post office in about an hour - I’ve got 3 boxes to mail. And I’m going to work in the yard a bit, too. Full day ahead.
I foresee doing the lawnmower tango today, probably with a big helping of herbological chemical warfare.

After two weeks of no work, it looks like next week will be solid crazy long shifts- I need the money, but 6 days of 12 to 14 hours is maybe a bit much… It may be including some overnights as well. Erk.
Anyway, better go try sort the allotment out if I’m not going to be able to make it down there much for a bit.
