Shuffing off to Irk- A MMP

Wow! We slept in till after 6!! **FCD **is still trying to snooze, tho Higgs may not be helping.

Today may be the last day for a while that the house will stay open, so I think I’ll spot clean the carpets. It won’t take long to do the actual cleaning, but the prep, then disassembly of the steam cleaner is a pain in the butt. I’m tired of seeing the miscellaneous spots, so today, they shall be banished from my sight!!

I think I’ll take my sweetie out to breakfast this morning. We haven’t gone out for breakfast in a while - I think it’s time.

Other than that, who knows what the day will bring?? Happy Sunday!

Good morning, folks.

FCM, I love having the windows open, and letting the fresh air in. Enjoy it while you can!

It’s supposed to be a nice day around these parts, with a high of 86°, and humid. We’ve got a chance for rain late this afternoon, I guess. We can use it. Well, the gardens can, at least.

I’ll be going to Covington, Indiana later this morning, to meet my husband. He’ll be coming through the area, and I’ll bring him some home-cooked food, so he’ll survive through next week. He doesn’t care for fast food/truck stop food, which is bad for him (Or anyone, really!), anyhow. I love to cook, so I don’t mind at all. It’ll be nice to see him. I haven’t laid eyes on him since last Monday.

Have a nice Sunday, everyone. I hope you can all get some time to relax, and enjoy the day!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 70 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 85 for the day. A cool down! Also there’s the promise of rain. So far the weather PTB lie worse than a cheap toupee about rain. Not a drop yestiddy though we were told rain/tstorms/apocalypse would be upon us.

I suppose launchin’ fart blossoms would be about the only use for those little green balls of death.

flytrap ‘mater pie is nummy! I don’t make ‘em cause I can’t be bothered to go through the trouble but if’n I’m somewhere where it’s on the menu Ima get me a big ol’ helpin’. YUM!!!

Ok, now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence. It’s brunch Sunday which means big eats and I have ush duty this mornin’.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

I have squid on hand, frozen.

That’s…That’s cold, man.

Back from breakfasting followed by a quick stop at WalMart and Lowe’s. I’ve vacuumed, and I’m about to start cleaning the carpets. Woo and hoo!

**BBBobbio **- have you been thru Leonardtown lately? Did you know that Sakura is no longer exclusively Japanese food - they’ve added Italian to the menu. I’m afraid to go there… OK, mostly because the last couple of times we went, it was severely mediocre, which is sad, since they started off so well.

OK, off to play happy homemaker!

double post

What’s yer point? :dubious:

ETA: Moooooom, haven’t been to Sakura at all, just knew it opened. Think they do sushi spaghetti?

I would be, too.

There is a Sakura sushi joint here in North Little Rock, apparently no connection to yours.
Sakura is probably a Japanese word for “Take the Round Eye’s Money” or something.

Happy Sunday!
and I do mean Happy!
The male HFH took the hounds and left for a while. I don’t know for how long but he’s gone for a while. Too bad the female HFH didn’t go with him. Mom said he took a bunch of stuff with him too, they are starting to clean some of their junk out.
I wonder if my nasty little rant at them Monday had anything to do with it?

It’s a beautiful day, nice and cool, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the windows are open wide.

Apes You’re right, I shouldn’t want to dump the HFH on anyone.

Kopek you brought back an old memory. I’m thankful it didn’t require a trip to the ER.

Doggio and Alien it’s good to know I can count on you.

I’m here. Just blurfy

I has a blurf this morning. I woke up at 5:30 and could not go back to sleep, so I farmed on my virtual farm since there is nothing on tv on a Sunday morning that I care to watch/listen to. I weeded some in the front forty yesterday and even though I am paining I would like to get back out to it, but I promised my aunt that #2 and I would go over today and weed her garden and help her with any other garden chores she wants done. She is 70, although you wouldn’t know it to look at her, and a couple/few years ago she was in a car accident and broke her back (and some other bones as well) so I don’t mind. The week ahead looks to be sunny and in the 70’s, my favorite time of the year!

The OP for tomorrow is written, it’s hella long, I’m going to try and edit it down some, but it was a two day event and I have already left out tons of detail. I will post it around 11:00 pm Pacific time for you early birds over toward the other coast.

Oh, my #3’s boyfriend bought me a pink jasmine last year to go along with my star jasmine. It grew like crazy last year, but I had read that in my climate it would likely never bloom. Well, they were wrong! After an early start putting out new growth it is now popping out bud clusters all over, and some of them have opened. I have been training it to grow in front of my bedroom window to both block the sun (my room has both southern and western exposures, and it gets brutally hot in the summer) and give me a little camoflage in order to observe the hummingbirds without scaring them, and to discourage them from flying into the room!

Lastly, if you have netflix and are a woman of a certain age I highly recommend watching The Grumpy Old Women. omg, I laugh so hard at this, and my #3 and I have watched it several times, and it just gets funnier with each viewing . . . it’s on again now, so I’m going to have some coffee and get into a great grumpy mood for the day, and that is a great thing!

ace, western Indiana is pretty this time of year. The area around the river reminds me a little of some of the places around here.

I’m mostly caffeinated, breakfasted, have supper in the slow cooker and laundry ready to go downstairs. Think I’ll take it easy most of the day.

Howdy Y’all! I have deheathenated, ushed, brunched, and napped. Busy day. Today was kinda large at the church house. A young man from our congregation completed seminary this past week and yestiddy was ordained as a Transitional Deacon by our Bishop in Savannah where the Diocesan See is located and where he’ll be assigned the next six months before he is officially ordained as a Priest. Anywho, today he served at good old St. Pat’s in his first official duties as a Deacon. He also preached, as Deacons can and do bein’ as they are ordained ministers. Did a good job too. So, it was kind of large and in charge today. Lots o’ people showed up and kept showin’ up. This makes it hard to get an accurate count of folks but we ended up with an official count of a hunnert and thirty-five which is BIG for us!

Thus is life in swampland today. We’ve had a few sprinkles of rain and that’s it. So, weather PTB I say :dubious:.

I’ve emptied the dishwasher and cleared the front yard of large branches from the last few rounds of rain. Tomorrow morning, I’ll mow while **FCD **is at the doctor’s (normal visit - no biggie), since it’ll be cool in the morning. I should have mowed today, but after doing the carpets, I just didn’t care enough.

Poke will be the center of supper, sides TBD. **FCD **liked the strawberry pie, me, not so much. So I told him the pie is his. I’ve got butter pecan ice cream for my dessert.

Quiet, lazy day here. Sunny, low 70s, nice.

blurf

What was wrong with the pie Mmooommmm?

Lazy day here. Fried fish for dinner with cole slaw and hush puppies.

Back to irk tomorrow. The weekend goes entirely too fast.

Everyone have a great week.

**Butters **- there’s nothing wrong with it - I’m just not much for strawberry pie. It was like having a piece of bread with too much jelly on it.

Time to make supper.

Not even thinkin’ about dindin here even though what Butter’s is makin’ sounds nummy. Still stuffded from brunch over to the church house. As always there was plenty of nummy commestibles.

Evnin’

We had actual sun today, and my landlord worked out what was up with the strimmer (me, as it turned out), so I had a go at the allotment long grass. That thing’s terrifying with a brush cutter blade on; I’ve not tried that before, and I won’t rush to again.

It looks like we gave a new housemate- he’s a friend of the landlird, and his planned move fell through with about three day’s notice, so he’s just moved all his stuff into the empty room. Dunno how long he’s here for, I think it’s only a short-term thing, but he seems nice enough, and considerably less useless than the previous guy.

I think I’m about to get messed about at work again- I was told I’d be working every day bar Monday this week, them just got a text asking if I’d be able to do next weekend… I suspect the midweek work has vanished, never to be mentioned again. I admit I can hardly say I truly wanted to work six 12+ hour days in a row, but the money would really have come in handy…
