Shuffing off to Irk- A MMP

We got just under 3 hours of fresh air, sunshine, and exercise. Time to quit! Actually, we quit about half an hour ago, and we’ve since showered, donned clean, non-sweaty clothes, and had lunch. The temp is creeping up and, alas, we’ll have to close the house and turn on the air. Dammit.

But we moved 3 azaleas, then I transplanted half a dozen hostas and several clumps of mondo grass. I’ve got the sprinkler going, and I’m about to go out and move it. It’s been a good, productive day. Now I’ll be a bum. Yay!

Happy Monday! I’ve got the day off - woohoo!

I’m slackin’ today - cleaned the shed and planted a tree and did laundry and housecleaning all weekend so that I could have a lazy day today. I found my old beach cruiser bicycle in the shed when I cleaned and discovered - once I fixed the flat tires - that it was still in usable condition after sitting hidden in there for 10 years. This morning I took it out for a ride - and promptly realized that the old saying about “You never forget how to ride a bike” is, at least in my case, woefully untrue.

I wobbled unsteadily down the street, trying to hold a straight line and hoping not to fall over. One of my neighbors was backing out of his drive and stopped dead to stare at me and allow me to pass - even though I was several drives away from him - apparently he thought I might veer across the street and crash into him. I might have. I finally got to the end of the street and discovered that turning a corner was reeeeeeeally tricky, but I managed to stay upright.

Next thing I knew, I had about 12 - 13 neighborhood kids zooming all around me on their bikes, laughing and screeching. “Are you learning to ride a bike?” “It’s really easy - c’mon we’ll show you” “Yeah we’ll teach you how to ride a bike!” So now I’d acquired a mobile cheering section, oh man I can’t fall over now or I’ll squish a kid! All the way around the block we went, the kids laughing the whole way at my wobbling motion. I did make it back to my yard in one piece - and then promptly fell down because I forgot how to brake. :smack: The kids LOVED that. The kids have promised me they will ride with me EVERY TIME I GO OUT! - I’m not sure if that’s a promise or a threat. :stuck_out_tongue:

Now I’m staying inside and recovering from my bike ride. I can’t believe I forgot how to ride a bike. I can’t believe how much I hurt from a one-block ride. I knew I was out of shape - but not this out of shape.:frowning:
I might have to order a pizza later to console myself with.

**PickleS **- pizza is the perfect consolation! And, nothing personal, but I giggled at your story. Wonder if any of your neighbors will post it on YouTube??

On Friday, I’m moving from apartment A to apartment B.

I have fewer than 10 boxes packed right now. I am in full-on denial mode. (Why, yes, I do believe that the packing fairies will come if I only leave a bowl of beer and some pizza out for them.)

Og help me.

Today is going to be pizza day for us as well.

Sah-dog was acting weird and we couldn’t figure out what is wrong with him. Sah-son finally figured it out, Sah-dog wanted a pizza crust and they were all gone. So Sah-son asked if we cold have pizza today so we can have some crusts for the dog.
Yeah, I know, my dog is spoiled. Too bad you can’t buy a bag of pizza crust treats.

I finally closed my window, I hate it but it was getting warm in here.

I also giggled at PickleS **
Happy packing
Phouka**

I’ve been up since 5am, I think I need a nap.

PickleS, you owe me a new keyboard!

I’m off today, but at the same time, I’m not really off today because I’ve been keeping quite busy. Got some grocery shopping done, and practiced my clarinets, and did some laundry.

I’ll save ours up and trade you for some of Fairy Chat’s strawberry jam.

Did you have cheesy eggs and grits? With a side of bacon AND raisin toast? Cuz that’s the perfect Waffle House breakfast.

I went to 9am yoga. It was already getting hot and hoomid. My birthday is later this week (the day after the real Memorial Day) and it was always cold and rainy.

Had a filet and mushrooms for lunch, which I will call dinner. Spending the rest of the day watching the French Open and idly packing for my London vacay!!! Elebentyone!11!!!

The ditzes should start video taping these beatings.

Spousal unit is watching the Falling Skies marathon. That is such a stupid show!! Then again, most of the alien invasion/end of life as we know it shows are stupid. I was afghaning, but I couldn’t take any more of that stoopit show!!! <headdesk>

Sketties for supper, since I thawed the sauce yesterday. I’m thinking of running to the store for ice cream for dessert. It’ll get me away from the stoopit TV.

The house is closed and the a/c is on. :frowning:

Slept late, do need to take care of some laundry and putting together a new storage thingie for the living room. Otherwise planning to totally goof off, including some Atari time.

hmmm
So I buy some chocolate, drive to southern Merrylande to trade the chocolate for strawberry jam, and then drive to Arkansas to trade the jam for pizza crusts?

What kind of pizza?

We have ice cream! And I’ve decided that we’re having ravioli with sketty sauce instead of sketties.

**FCD **is still watching his stoopit space alien marathon. I can’t wait for 5PM and the news.

Pizza has been delivered.
The dog is happy.

PickleS, I laughed my butt off. :stuck_out_tongue: Riding with the neighborkid posse could be your summer challenge.

Mooom there’s a pot of sketti sauce on my stove right now, but it will go over linguine.

Went to my niece’s for a cookout for lunch and sat around with the kids and a couple of guitars until around three. This time I remembered to reapply the sunscreen and the aloe gel. The burn is lightening up now, so it shouldn’t be too miserable at irk tomorrow.

Supper was OK - I made too many raviolis, so someone will get leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

Ice cream later. That pretty much sums up our afternoon and evening.

And now it’s time to log off and do some serious reclining. MWAH!

Howdy Y’all! Today I have brekkied, napped, spent time at the cee-mint pond and made dindin. Go Me!

WetOne that is indeed what I had at WH. It’s my favorite WH brekkie.

I made beastloaf, scalloped N.O.T., green beans, steamed squish, cornbread muffins, and even brownies for dindin. Plus, leftovers for tomorrow’s dindin, so score!

Ima shut down this here computin’ machine and go lie upon the bed and watch teevee until sleepy time cause I feel tahrd.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

I worked. My relief showed up an hour late. I went to the laundromat. The washer that was supposed to run for 24 minutes, ran for 75. I got home at 7, instead of 5. You my refer to me as the late dogbutler.

swampy, when I go to WaffleHouse, I like steak and eggs, with hashbrowns smothered, chunked and peppered, and a side order of brawl.

FCM, I like Falling Skies.:stuck_out_tongue: FCD and I can watch together and drink beer.

Nettie, Atari time? I still got my 2600.

PickleS, Hee! reminds me of when I go ice skating.

Flytrap, I expect nothing else out of you.:stuck_out_tongue:
