Wiki, you’re late; last week was a bear MMP!
You really think you need to wait until next week to hijack a MMP? You’ve been around long enough to know the rules - there are pretty much no rules!
Well I spent 30+ minutes on hold only to find out I called the wrong number. They connected me to the correct number but I hung up after a few minutes. I couldn’t take it anymore.
Poor Sah-dog. I got him to go out on the deck with me for a good brushing but I had a good ear cleaning planned. So he got a little brushing, saw the bottle of peroxide and took off. I got him corned and cleaned his ear.
I don’t know why he does that because once I have him cornered he stands there and seems to like it.
Now he is snubbing me.
Y’all crack me up spidey! lieu I love watching anything about Kodiak, mostly just to see my “home”. I missed that episode, fortunately they will be re-run! So, while I could hijack this week, it’s a long-ish story, more suited for an OP. After I get home I will come up with something to entertain you, village style!
I HATES the new smilies, yes I do!
**kai **- I say go for it, and ignore Spidey. I wanna hear your bear story.
I just finished the last of the glazing and prepping for the kiln. I’m going to let everything sit overnight to ensure it’s all completely dry, then load the kiln and fire it Weds night. That should allow me to take stuff to the store on Firday.
**FCD **has headed to the wilds of Waldork to get a special plug for his bike to connect to the trailer wire harness. I’ve got a couple of chickie tits out for supper, and I need to decide on sides.
And I think just about all of the arrangements for the cruise with my mom have been set. I’m just waiting to hear back from her travel agent about one charge. She claims the $54 is to get us from our hotel to the airport - all of 2 miles. I think she meant to say it’s the bus fare to get us from Heathrow to Southampton. Because I found a shuttle bus that will get us from the airport to our hotel and back the next morning for £7 each - and I’m pretty sure that’s lots less than $54. I’m also awaiting an email from the bus company at Heathrow to answer a couple of questions. I don’t want to have to enlist **BooFae **to personally escort her Spider Corps to persuade them to answer me.
92 days till we sail. I need to buy a black skirt - I could shop for that right now. I think I will.
wiki, I can’t wait until Monday to hear the story. Tell it now, please.
Howdy from da cave! I survived the first day back at irk. Go Me!
If we’re bein’ desserts, I am a Tasty Kake. I had a Tasty Kake cupcake a little while ago.
Sean I do not understand the concept of leftover tiramisu. Please enlighten me.
Speakin’ of leftovers, that’s what dindin shall consist us with the addition of some fresh corn on the cob. I got some today cause it looked good. Also, I bought a watermelon.
Ok, I got more to say but I need to get commestibles goin’ for dindin. I shall return with more stories of the day later.
lol, okay, here’s the deal; I can tell THE bear story tonight, or I can tell you a couple of bear stories to tide you over until Monday. Remember, I was in the village for five years, on the island for a total of twenty two years. I have a plethora of tales, both of the ursine variety as well as tales of other beasts and fowl, and some of just the awesomeness (in the literal sense of the word) as well.
I have seen the aurora borealis dance among the stars, and I have heard it sing.
Seal is delicious, as are seagull eggs.
Humpback whales are really big, and their breath is most foul.
I get seasick once the boat/skiff enters the Shelikov Straite.
On the run, back later mmper buds!
Bear stories are always good- bare stories vary
You’re a bit more organised than my family travelling Moooom, we just book a flight, and maaybe the first night in a hotel. None of us have got dedded or permanently stranded in forn parts, so it seems to work. I’m always fascinated by the people who plan stuff…
Was planning on doing gardeningy stuff today, but it was all wet, so I just went and bought some more plants, because I obviously don’t have enough plants
I’m baaaaaaaaack!
Ok, first things first
We have a motion on the floor.
All in favor of Wiki aka kai startin’ us off next week with a tale of the bear story say “Aye.”
AYE!!!
All those opposed [del]like we care[/del] say “Nay”
::crickets::
The “Ayes” have it. wiki aka kai shall be our hostess with the mostest next week and regale us with a tale of the bear story. Personally, I always like tales of my kith and kin.
Meanwhile, wiki aka kai can tide us over with a couple other bear stories.
Thus mote it be.
Ok, now, da bear, in addition to delain’ with an audit he ain’t too worried about this week, will have to fire somebody on Firday. Firday is the end of the current pay period so it’s as good a time as any, I reckon. Anywho, after much counselin’, corrective action, and come to Jesus sessions with this person, nuttin’ has changed. She still cannot or will not perform assigned duties even when they are spelled out step by step by teeney weeney step. Doesn’t seem to matter what I say, she is just oblivious and continuously messes up. I have ample written documentation and the blessin’ of TPTB to do this, so I shall. Mind y’all, I do not like this one bit. However, enough is enough. Sigh. Now I get to advertise, interview, hire, and train a new assistant. In the meantime my other assistant and I get to pick up the slack. Rah. Fortunately the other assistant is great. Matter of fact I’m buckin’ for a raise for her as she deserves a raise. Never a problem from her. What I need is to clone her, but since that technology does not exactly exist as of yet, and if it were, it’d probably be at best unethical, through the interview, hire, and train process I shall go. Hi ho! Hi ho!
Do I win longest post of the day?
**Nut **- we’ve got to catch the motor coach to the cruise ship at a specific place and time, and that requires planning. Other times, specifically when it was just the spousal unit and me, we’d have a general idea of what we were going to do, but we’d adjust as we went along. Unfortunately, one time we went to Key West with another couple, and the male portion of that couple was obsessed with planning!! He drove us crazy, and we never vacationed with them again.
Supper was yum and we’s stuffded. Ice cream later. Rain later, too, if the weather forecasters are to be believed. I hope so. Otherwise, I’ll have to get out and water my azaleas tomorrow. We shall see.
Wonder what the chances are that I’ll have another 8 hours of sleep tonight??
Hey, swampy! Can I have her job? I’d love to work from home! And I have excellent office skills and a kick-ass work ethic.
I’ve got a bear story. There was this silly [del]ole[/del] old bear who showed up bright & early on a Thursday to cast his vote; he was first in line. However, voting day is Tuesday, so the polls were already closed; even the crickets had voted on Tuesday, which is why they were being so quiet. :o
Thus we shall get to rejoice in black/brown/grizzly/polar bear stories tonight! Yipee!!! ::[del]flings[/del] shoots confetti from confetti cannon::
Howdy Mumpers. Irked and the day actually went by fast. Plus I left irk a touch early. Hubby made it home over the weekend. He is cooking supper as i write. We are having sketties.
I have a new person hired at irk but we are still waiting on her background check. I don’t know how long that will take. I am still doing double duty. I just hope business does not slow down just in time for new lady to start. I need it busy so she can get trained. It will take at least a month to have her where I can leave her alone. If not longer.
I saw my first baby Key Deer this morning. It was spotted and probably weighed about 10 pounds. Much smaller than the average dog. June is foal month. There will be many new babies. Last year I saw triplets. Twins are quite common.
My gall bladder is aching me again. I really must get to the Dr. And see what he has to say. I am not even certain that is what it is but that’s what I think it is.
Ok off to do some laundry. Remake the bed and have supper. I think it will be an early night as I tossed and turned most of last night so hopefully I Can sleep better tonight.
**mmmooooommmmm. **i sent you a PM re my pottery purchases.
Thunderbooming here.
It rained a tiny bit earlier when I was cleaning Sah-dogs ear. Now it is pouring.
According to most recent food intake, I’m a Farrell’s Caramel Apple Blossom with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Spider Corps, hell.
Komodo dragons!
Mom: (Brings Komodo dragon in on a leash.) We need to settle this, or…
Brit: Or what, your lizard will defecate on my floor?
Mom: No, my lizard will defecate YOU onto your floor.
Spidey it’s Tuesday. FTR, last Tuesday was primary election day at least here in Jawja and I voted then as well. Bright and early even.
Y’all remember me mentionin’ “engine kitty” a couple weeks ago? “Engine Kitty” is finally gone. A very large part of “engine kitty” fell out and the rest was pressure washed/steam cleaned out of the engine. ICK !
Time to recline. MWAH!!
Ooh, I see why the Heathrow people aren’t replying- you’re expecting a motor coach, not a horse drawn one. This isn’t America you know!
Bah, I wish my brain would stop being a silly- at 9pm I was all sleepy and about ready to go to bed, but still was finishing off some stuff and thought it was a bit too early. Now it’s 1am, and I’m not tired at all!
It was a metaphor, Swampy. You do know what is a metaphor…
…it’s a big field where cows like to graze & sometimes bears go to relax & sunbathe.
Your other comment reminded me of Ya know, there’s a reason I spoiler things!
This song.
