Shuffing off to Irk- A MMP

Ok you all. Tell me what symptoms you had with a gallbladder attack. All I have is pain that comes and goes but does get worse after eating. I have been having the pain off and on for a few months. Some times I can go days with no pain. I do not have a fever and only very slight to non existent nausea. Does that sound like what any of you had?

I had some pork baby back ribs to grill today.
It was raining cats and dogs, a veritable frog strangler, if I may Mix My Metaphors.
Alas, the charcoal would not light.
And so…gasp…I…I cooked them in the oven.
I feel so cheap…

Ruble, does this mean you’re gonna shoot me? :stuck_out_tongue:

Nuts, hows about a bare bear story?

The chicken stir fry from supper was good and all cleaned up. The sketch for next month’s bulletin board and the homework for it done. Now it’s time to surf.

I know, surfactants… Look out shampoo, here I come!

Worked, came home. I ate.

Aye!

Happy Hump Day!

If the dogs bladder isn’t waking me up too early then mine is.

It’s cool and wet outside. Supposed to get to 81 today and then the temps are supposed to drop for a few days. It’ll be good to open the window again. I know it’'s all in my head but I feel like I can’t breathe since I’ve closed the window.

I wish I could help you Butters but I still have my gall bladder. Sometimes I get pains in that area, but it’s nothing severe and they never last long.

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

Well, aren’t you the little wise-acre… :stuck_out_tongue:

We had a major toad-soaker of a t-storm last night, which means there are even more sticks and branches and leaves and crap down on the ground this morning. I may go out and clear the front yard as much as I can so that we can eventually mow. Altho we’re supposed to get more storms today, with showers tomorrow thru early Firday, so there won’t be any mowage any time soon.

**Butters **- when my gallbladder acted up, it was all of a sudden and really scary! I’d had a particularly greasy breakfast sammich and I felt this horrible pain on my right side behind the chest wall radiating to the front and back. I was afraid I was having a heart attack, as were the paramedics who picked me up at work. When they got me to the ER, they figured out it wasn’t my heart, and a month or so later, the evil GB was extracted. My understanding is that the reaction to greasy foods is a teller symptom for GB issues. Goodness knows, it was for me.

Today’s plans include laundry - I need to do a load of unders. Beyond that, I have no idea. **FCD **will be finishing the wire harness on his bike. Maybe I’ll play in clay - I have orders for some planters, and I may go ahead and make an extra one to sell. Altho I really should just clean my studio - it’s a mess. I’ve been less than diligent about keeping it tidy. Shame on me.

Happy Wednesday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 68 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 90 for the day. I’ll take it!

Butters IANAD but if this has been goin’ on for a few months, it’s worth gettin’ checked out. Just sayin’.

Spidey HEE!

Today I get to pull the files for the list of people I was given yestiddy for the audit. I’ll give 'em a quick look through (only ten out of a couple hunnert files!) to make sure stuff is in correct order even though I know it all is. I just want 'em to get here, do this, and leave. Of course the big fun will be late Firday afternoon.

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Hump Day Y’all! Just. Never. Gets. Old.

Petablurf.

Butters, my GB issue is related to sludge, not stones, so it may be different than what you experience. An attack starts with a backache below my right shoulder blade, which any type of movement will not give relief. It will intensify until I feel it up front. The fun begins when I get stabbing pain that radiates right to left, just below my ribs. On the pain scale, the backache is maybe 5/10, and the stabbing part is 8-9/10.

What is happening is that enough sludge builds up that the bile duct is blocked, and the GB can’t drain, getting hyperinflated. That’s the backache. The stabbing is from the GB contracting, forcing all the crap out the bile duct. This happens in about a 2 to 3 hour window of hell. I’ve never felt 10/10, and hope I never will.

The sludge issue is a side effect of the gastric bypass I had 9 years ago, FWIW. I will get serious about having it removed once I get the bills for my ER visits and the scopings paid down. Dammit.

Part Deux: I will experience pain-related nausea and vomiting while it happens, and as soon as my GB is empty, the nausea goes away. I will run a fever afterwards and feel like crap for about a day after. This is caused by the overall inflammation from the attack, and some nastiness with chemicals backing up into my liver.

The silver lining is I have 0 appetite for about 5 days, so it’s real easy to lose weight…

Morning all,

:shudder: at the gall bladder attack descriptions. Y’all have my deepest sympathies.

Hot today at 90 with a rapid cool down to 70 which I am sure will include massive T-storms. I have a case of the my-boss-is-on-vacation-and-I-don’t-want-to-do-anything-at-work-itis. I have a few things to occupy myself but nothing earth shattering. Blurf!

Now I’m awake for reals.
Not much to do today except irk.

Sah-son wants me to make tacos today. He didn’t like them the last time I made them but he wants to use up the taco shells.
I’ll try a different recipe.

I have an interview today. I don’t remember if I told you all about it, but it’s a second first interview. I interviewed for one position which I did not get but was invited to interview for a different position which is actually more to my liking. This makes me more nervous because the person that invited me to come back must have liked something about me. I just hope I don’t blow it.

Good Luck on the interview Sticky
They already like you so relax. I think it helps to remember that often the person conducting the interview is just as nervous as you are.

We’ve had 10" of rain at our house the last 3 days with more to come. Welcome relief but it does send these out to higher ground. Looks ferocious but it’s a Texas rat snake. This one was in my sister’s yard. This one was in my neighbor’s. One crawled in a lady’s car on TV the other day and I ran over a dead one on the way in (through the rain) this am. Can snakes have a hissy fit?

So we are on a conference call right now telling us that the credit card processor I work for just merged with another processor. Its a lot of executive to executive praise-a-thon and no info about what this means for me the little sales rep and my job. This sucks

I knew I should have offed myself when I had the chance

**lieu **- those snakes look ever-so-slightly miffed…

I’ve got a load of whites in the washer, and as soon as they go into the dryer, we’re heading to the grocery store. Yes, the life of a retiree is soooooooooo exciting. No, really, it is.

At least we don’t have snakes pestering us.

I know! I’m crossing miff snakes off my to do list.

12 or 20 ga.?

Thinking good thoughts about everyone’s gall bladders, interviews, mergers, trips, sick relatives, house hunting, finances… just the whole kitten kaboodle.
