Me. I’m sick, been this way the whole weekend. Had a temperature of 99.1° yesterday. I’m at work today and feeling miserable. It wouldn’t be so bad if my sinuses would stop playing the Conga.
Why am I at work? I don’t want to mess up anyone’s vacation plans, least of all my own. There always has to be at least half-coverage here and with me out that could mean someone else has to cover. I’m mainly staying in my cubicle so I don’t present a risk to those that are here.
I’m sick too. I have been up at least three times a night since Friday attempting to clear my nose/sinuses so I can breathe. Thats WITH Tylenol Cold & Sinus and a heafty shot of Vicks 44. Because of having to be a mouth breather, my throat is raw so I’ve been sucking down the Hall’s and the orange vitamin C lozenges.
Luckily I’m working from home today, so I don’t have to bother other people with my sniffles, throat clearing, and hacking. I am, however, phones today so my clients get to hear it!
I’m supposed to be in office tomorrow, but management has been coming down hard on those who come to work sick. They want us to stay home if possible. We’ll see if I make it in.
I’ve been battling a cold since last week. I can hear it chuckling and rubbing its little virus-y hands in delight, so I have a feeling it has a surprise in store.
What are your symptoms? My wife is recovering from some sort of virus. It began with a horrible sore throat that lasted about 48 hours. That was followed by a fever, fatigue, achiness, a runny nose, and a cough. She was down and out for about three days. I appear to have made it through unscathed.
Me Too! I slept until 3 PM today. Am feeling better than I was in the middle of the night, when I had chills and a throat so sore I could not swallow, but I am still not a happy camper. Am hoping that I’ll be better for work tomorrow. Sleep was good, and has always been the best medicine for me.
We’ve been plague-stricken since Labour Day weekend. I’ve gotten more colds in the past three months than I normally do over a five year period. I don’t understand. We’re both just recovering from the current hacking-cough-with-phlegm one, and I had a dry cough most of October.
Mr. Lissar finally slept all through last night. He’s spent the last week waking up at 4 or 5 to spend a couple of hours coughing. And I mean bad, scary coughing, sometimes untl it activates the gag reflex.
I’ve had a bad dry cough and a tightness in my chest for going on two weeks now. No runny nose, just a cough hard enough to vomit. (Once, but that was enough.)
Hey, all. I’m feeling better today - clearing the gunk out of my chest is always a good sign. Still having a bit of sinus pressure though but at least the drumming has stopped.
Here’s hoping the rest of you under the weather get better soon, too.
I posted a thread about my own illness, but I’m not going to link it. Why have explosive diarrhea on the front page? In a nutshell: Old, bad salsa on Thusday; hellish Thursday night and Friday; feeling better on Saturday; chilled Saturday afternoon; ‘blah’ on Sunday; back to work, still a bit rocky, on Monday. My sustnance was dry toast or toast with marmalade from Friday through Monday, and very little of that. A cube steak on Saturday, then another disastrous attempt at cube steak Saturday night.
Monday evening I was ravenous. I had a ‘spoonful’ of chicken gorgonzola pasta (so that’s a serving spoon from the deli) for lunch, and it stayed down. Monday night called for more meat. Hey, I feel better! Yesterday was better still, and I had a BLT and some potato sald.
