Are Mike Hunt and York Hunt related?
Today I talked to a woman named Wanna Cox.
This one would be trite, except I just heard in perfect context: a woman in charge of the school bus fleet, being interviewed by some news outlet on the subject of poorly maintained vehicles, named Anita Wright.
I mean, in real life, it does get better, but not by much.
Real names at the university where I work: Haozhi Wang, Haozhu Wang, Haohang Wang. There are a lot of Wangs here.
Long ago, there was a British silly-humorous radio show – a sort of sound-radio-only, gentler equivalent of Monty Python – which had a running gag involving, each week, a different imaginary festive ball, celebrating a particular occupation and those involved in it; and the ceremonious introductions of guests at same.
Examples: at the Pop Musicians’ Ball: Mr. and Mrs. V’syou-Yeah-Yeah-Yeah, and their daughter Sheila V’syou-Yeah-Yeah-Yeah. And at the Police Ball: Mr. and Mrs. T 'copper, and their very naughty son Ben T 'copper.

British silly-humorous radio show: I’m Sorry, I haven’t a Clue. (Mr and Mrs Taylor and their son Tim Brook:D)
That’s the one ! I loved it: pure malice-free, non-edgy daft foolery and fun.

When I worked in an office, telephone solicitors were asked to call back and ask for “Mr. Meoff. First name Jack.”
Some of them actually did it.
Real name I ran across in a government directory: Angela Threat.
When she travels on government business, I wonder how the TSA screeners react to an ID card that says “A. Threat.”
You made me think of one that’s not quite that direct. In the movie Jungle Fever (1991) Annabella Sciorra plays a character named **Angie Tucci ** and since the Wesley Snipes character engages her in some hanky-panky it was easy to see that the old expression “Fuckin’ A Toochee” might have been on the writers’ minds. ![]()
That reminded me of one of my favorites, Count Pointercount (from the P.D.Q Bach backstory).
He played for the Packers in the 1970s.
His career was cut short by injury, so I imagine that, at some point, an announcer said something like, “Mike Hunt took a hard one there.”
There was an Australian Rules footballer called Willie Dick.
I mean, what were his parents thinking?
