Simple question, Hairy Porn or Shaved Porn ?

This would make a helluba porn series:

Hairy Porn and the Philosopher’s Stone
Hairy Porn and the Chamber of Secrets
Hairy Porn and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Hairy Porn and the Goblet of Fire
Hairy Porn and the Order of the Phoenix
Hairy Porn and the Half-Blood Prince
Hairy Porn and the Deathly Hallows

Exactly. I’m a 27 year old guy. Thinking about it, the “shaved-look-reminds-me-of-a-child” attitude doesn’t even make sense. My teen years were in the 90’s and 00’s, and the hairy bush look was already gone from the pictures of naked ladies that I surely never looked at on AOL late at night. My first exposure to naked pictures of sexually mature women consisted of women with shaved/trimmed pubic hair. The only way I would come to associate a bald nether region with a child would be if I were to:

a: actually look at underage porn - an experience I don’t have. Or,

b: have a child that’s a girl - again, nope.

The shaved/trimmed look is what I associate with adult women.

It doesn’t have to be a boolean. Just one hairstyle would be boring. If there’s one area of life that doesn’t need a dress code, it’s that one. You can find the full, 70’s style hairdo’s if that’s your thing. Or the more landscaped 80’s look, or the more modern streamlined model. Or the retro sixties full package. All are dear to my heart, or at least other associated parts.

As for ‘who decided,’ probably the market. Porn is driven by profit, not ideology.* If the majority of consumers cared enough to seek out the lush tropical jungles, there would be more of them.

In the end, this is a similar issue to music. What was most popular when you were a teenager is likely to be the style you’re most fond of. This does not however, make cool to imply anyone with different musical tastes is a pedophile.

What is it about women’s body hair that inspires such passion? (not the fun kind of passion, that’s understandable, the angry smiting kind) It’s not a badge of honor, an appropriate alternative to checking ID, or a political statement of any kind. It’s just there. Or not, as the lady prefers.

  • Admittedly, there is a small percentage of porn that IS driven at least partially by ideology. Not all that much of it, though, and if they care about body hair, it’s in the other direction.

Porn* while* being shaved.

Also known as Torture Porn.

The Onion weighs in on this critical issue.

IMO bushes look way better but shaved is more utilitarian. The best compromise is to keep the hair above a certain imaginary line so it doesn’t get in your mouth. But porn isn’t interactive, so leave the grass on the field.

Really? There’s probably more porn now than the rest of human history put together x 100, with hundreds of different fetishes and subcultures that most people have never heard of being well represented. Hairy girl sites are really damned mainstream. If you can’t find what you want in this era I don’t know what to say.

Even if you KNOW she’s an adult, the hairless look harkens back to childhood. BTW, hairy for me. (for the reasons I’ve mentioned)

Which ones are Cho in?

Same here I can’t remember hair ever being ‘normal’ in images of nude women. I don’t really care whether it is totally bald or neatly trimmed, as long as there is no bush. This also goes for us guys, by the way.

I thought this thread was a Harry Potter poll at first. Seriously.

Anyhoo, I vote trimmed as well. I like hair, but let’s take some pride in it.

I prefer shaved. But maybe it’s because I’m old and grew up on unshaved porn. I can remember when a picture of a shaved woman was very uncommon and therefore seemed extra dirty. Maybe the trend is reversing now and men who grew up on shaved porn get an extra thrill out of seeing pubic hair.

See, this is what I was talking about.

I could snarkily ask if you felt the same way about leg and armpit hair. I could point out that pubes show up in the early teens and are thus a poor tool for determining age of consent, perhaps with reference to such awful and possibly apocryphal saying as ‘If there’s grass on the field, you can damn well play ball,’ to imply that you’re sexually attracted to the Jr. high set. I could imply that you’re desperately trying to stop yourself from thinking about underage girls while looking at adult women.

But why make that kind of accusation over an aesthetic preference? Even if you find shaved pubes creepy, why not ‘I find the California beardless clam creepy, no thanks’ instead of ‘everyone who doesn’t find them creepy is a closet pedophile?’

That’s like calling someone a terrorist if they didn’t like Diet Cherry Coke. (Though the demise of Diet Cherry Coke and the rise of Al Qaeda do have a strong correlation)

I am, for the record, totally cool with unshaven legs and armpits. Or shaved. If my preference were sought, it would vary on a case-by-case basis.

My standard rile-'em-up response: “You must prefer (prepubescent girls / blow-up dolls / fleshlights) to real women.”

Hey, it’s not the first time life’s imitated art.

I understand where you are coming from, but I think this response is paralleled by the “Ewww! Bush is disgusting” attitude you often see on the other side. I think that a lot of people in your generation–the ones that have grown up seeing shaved pubes as normal as shaved armpits–really seem to think that anyone who doesn’t shave has a mat of stinking, blood-and-cervical mucus ridden hair wedged between their legs. It’s awfully easy to get defensive when someone thinks your own aesthetic preference is not merely quirky, but actively disgusting.

Might be a cultural difference there. Anyway the hygienist look has no appeal to me.

Can we at least agree that however utilitarian it may be that a guy shaving himself bald makes men’s already laughable equipment even more hilarious?

That’s why I went for the dreadlocks.

Shaved for me, or else just the landing strip.

We won’t call you gross if you won’t call us pedophiles! :stuck_out_tongue:

Understandable perhaps, and I don’t like THAT reaction, either. They’re not equivalent, however. Calling someone unhygienic is rude. Calling someone a pedophile is worse than that. Nor do I think it’s entirely unreasonable to expect more maturity at this particular date from a generation that grew up with drive-in porn than one that grew up with internet porn.

Can’t we just respond to either comment with some variant of ‘Are you actually complaining about vagina? What’s wrong with you?’

Can’t the full bush of the 70’s and the slickness of the modern age come together in the warm tribadism of mutual appreciation?

Kind of upset no one mention gay porn here. It is a real question for the porn actors…to stay natural or to shave every bit of hair off their bodies that is not growing out of the top or the head.

As a Man, interested in other men, I feel some body hair is masculine and lends a masculine feel to a guy, where as totally shaved, plucked and waxed thing makes me feel like i am looking at a women with a penis
