Fynbo me
It’s a fair cop. I had it coming.
MafiaScum indicates RVS = Random Voting Stage. Yeah, we do that.
Driving home later today, but I am here. Not sure about all this “we” nonsense.
vote Kimble.
You bleau it, then, as this is Day 1 and it takes very little for me to find something gouda 'nough to vote for.
Vote snfaulkner
VOTE Mahaloth
Obviously for breaking my completely unenforceable rule about cheese puns. Tho PCM is now on my short list too.
I looked up the original [thread=461435]Simpletown Mafia (2008)[/thread] and the follow-up [thread=509422]not-so-Simpletown Mafia (2009)[/thread]. It turns out the directions for our game and the first two are pretty much the same, though we have fewer players. I didn’t read through the entire games (both were quite long), but the second game seemed to involve multiple factions (Masons, Cabalists, Assassins, Wolves) while the first game had only two (Town and Assassins).
With fewer players and the “simple with basic power roles” comment from sachertorte, I tend to agree that there is not a lot of room for anything too off-the-wall. I guess we will see.
I note none of our current crop of players were involved in those other games… but it has been seven years since the last one.
Pre-Game Analysis:
Biotop: has the same number of letters in his name as Hitler, probably Scum.
Fair Rarity: Scum are rarer than Town, probably Scum.
Johnny Bravo: says he’s traveling, probably to cover up his lurking, probably Scum.
Kimble: bussing PCM, obviously Scum.
Mahaloth: bussing snfaulkner, obviously Scum.
Precambrianmollusc: bussing Kimble, obviously Scum.
Prof. Pepperwinkle: a friend to all and a decided Simpleton, must be Town.
septimus: was Town in the last game, so slight Scum lean.
snfaulkner: bussing Mahaloth AND against cheese puns, very obviously Scum.
TexCat: has the same number of letters in her name as Gandhi, probably Town.
All results subject to change without notice. Void where prohibited by law. Patent applied for.
Not a vote yet…
But,
Prof. P, when I was Scum, my first thought on being voted against during Day 1 was to agree with the voter. “Yes, I had it coming. Ha ha. See how good-natured and reasonable I am about it.” Whereas, as Town, I am quite ready to argue against whomever votes against me because dammit the voter is wrong.
But we are in the early joking phase. TexCat’s response was a straightforward answer to my Shakespereanism.
SLENDER. Marry, sir, I have matter in my head against you; and against your cony-catching rascals, Bardolph, Nym, and Pistol. They carried me to the tavern, and made me drunk, and afterwards pick’d my pocket.
BARDOLPH. You Banbury cheese!
SLENDER. Ay, it is no matter.
PISTOL. How now, Mephostophilus!
SLENDER. Ay, it is no matter.

'Tis time I were chok’d with a piece of toasted cheese.
Unvote snfaulkner
Vote Prof. Pepperwinkle
To vote or not to vote, that is the question.
Let me be that I am and seek not to alter me. I’ll bide my time yet, and see who promises a villain.
Blatant snuggle attempt. Extremely wolfen.
UNVOTE Mahaloth
**VOTE Prof. Pepperwinkle **
Why the reluctance to vote?
Can somebody tell me what an “uncontested plurality of votes” means?
Nobody looks any more suspicious than anybody else yet.
Hey, three votes on me. Yeah, enough kidding around, this could get serious.
I took that to mean “not a tie”
I was waiting to at least hear from everyone before voting. **Fair Rarity **has posted nothing to this point. My early read on **Prof. Pepperwinkle **is just that —an early read from a single post that earned a negative comment in my journal. I felt it worth commenting on to get a response, but not so telling as to warrant a vote.
I presume it means not a tie. If NoLynch is tied for the plurality, different rules apply than if two players were tied for the plurality.
