Simpletown Mafia the Third

I’m lurking and getting a feel for things. This set up is different from the other place I play. There’s one vote per person per round and that’s it. No unvoting and revoting.

And I have died EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Unfairly too, I might add.

I’ve only played a few times, and it seems just about everyone dies every single time. Although some more fairly than others.

I thought a plurality couldn’t also be a tie? I’m probably splitting hairs.

No.

unvote

Vote Prof. Pepperwinkle

Don’t lurk.

Unvote Prof. Pepperwinkle

Vote Fair Rarity

Vote Mahaloth

Boo. Explanation? And an explanation why you had to be asked for one?

The wording is not precise. I wasn’t able to think of better words to use without belaboring a minor point.

Plurality wins.
Ties are broken by random chance.
No lynch doesn’t count in ties.

Vote Fair Rarity

There is no “I” in T-O-W-N.

Even jokes and bad poetry can be revealing, if not now then later. You have to give us something to work with.

I will accept this. However, you are supposed to indicate who is being unvoted as a matter of record.

Just following your lead in brevity of justifying votes

Well I can’t really explain why you asked me for a explanation. I suspect it is because you are Ok with not giving explanation for votes, as you don’t want to leave any evidence out there, being scum, and you are happy to raise the issue when someone else votes with minimal explanation, in an effort to smudge etc .

Vote Kimble.

For lurking.

And conveniently making it a 2 - 2 tie with you .

But those, I hope, are joke votes.

Current votes:

3 - Prof. P.: TexCat [36], septimus [51], snfaulkner [53]
2 - Kimble: Johnny Bravo (44], Prof. P. [71]
2 -** Fair Rarity**: Mahaloth [64, Biotop [68]
1 - Precambrianmollusc: Kimble [37]
1 - Mahaloth: Precambrianmollusc [65]

Not voted yet: Fair Rarity

Ok I can’t count .

I can’t disagree that Mahaloth’s vote was brief. However he did at least point to the posts that caused him to vote. Your vote was completely naked; not even a cheese pun with it.

Fair Rarity, If you only get one unchangeable vote, do you use a lot of FOSing? (FingerOfSuspicion)? Or do you say who you are thinking of voting? I’m trying to figure out how that would work.

I a-Gruyère’s been an issue with me lurking; I apologize for that. (Personal and work stuff both came up; they’re somewhat better now and will be fine next week.)

Also, I hadn’t really seen anything good to comment on – until PCM’s naked vote on Mahaloth and his explanation thereof. It seems overly defensive to me, as TexCat mentioned above. I like my vote where it is for now.

To our humble narrator.

A quick question regarding your bolded points above. What would determine whether a late vote is valid or not?

I ask because it seems End of Day will occur like an hour before I usually come into the office and check in on the game. If 4pm EST is a hard deadline, I can arrange to have my vote locked in by Wed night before I leave the office. But if it is a soft/fuzzy end time, that could give me an extra 16 or so hours to decide and/or read up on everyone else’s final arguments…

4:00PM EST should be considered the deadline. No votes placed after this time are guaranteed to be valid.

The reason for this setup is to eliminate any attempts to game the end of Day or End of night. In my opinion is it unfair to game an advantage simply because one player can be online at 4:00PM and another can not. Should someone attempt to use the deadline to their advantage, there is a random amount of time after the deadline where others could thwart any gaming.

So yes, you could change your vote or delay your vote, but I wouldn’t guarantee it would be valid. I doubt the fuzzy end time will stretch 16 hours long.

Got it. Thank you, kind sir!

(Though the 16hrs part that I mentioned was the time between when I leave the office wed night until I got back into the office Thurs afternoon. The fuzziness for me would have been about an hour)
