Simpsons: Deep-Space Homer Quote Origin

I just saw the Deep Space Homer episode from Season Five; when the family is watching the space shuttle take off, Lisa comments:

“How doth the hero strong and brave
A celestial path in the heavens pave.”

Does anybody know where that is from? Or is it a Simpson writer’s idea?

“Go, dad, go.”

I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s the Simpsons writers’ invention, because The Simpsons Archive says nothing about it, and they’re totally obsessive about tracing homages, references and quotes.

Best. Episode. Ever.

(well top 5 for sure)

Since my own looks at SNPP (I should’ve noted what I’d already covered, I guess…apologies) and googling the phrase came up blank as well, I guess I’ll agree. Seems just like the kind of thing that would’ve been a quote…oh well, I guess if they can write comedy, they can write verse as well.
