In the sixth season’s Halloween episode (middle segment), in which Homer travels back in time with the toaster, Homer says: “Wow. I’m the first non-Brazilian person to travel backward through time.”

He says this the first time he enters the time warp thingy, and soon after Mr. Peabody and the boy (what’s his name?) appear to correct him.

My question is: Who is this Brazilian person who was evidently the first to travel backward in time?

Homer’s comment about “non-Brazilian” time travelers:

Mark Johnson’s best guess is that Homer was referring to Carlos
Castaneda, “a Brazilian who wrote about his chemical-induced
`adventures’ about twenty years ago. A rather trendy (for the
college crowd) set of books from the late-60’s, early 70’s.”

So which is it–Sherman or Eric?

From this thread:

And the boy’s name is Sherman. His reply to Professor Peabody is contradictory. Someone will check in with the exact quote soon, I’m sure.

Ya’ know, it crossed my mind that someone might read it that way…

Let’s try this way:
**

Homer: Wow, I’m the first non-Brazillian person to travel through time.
(Mr. Peabody and Sherman appear)
Mr. Peabody: Not quite, Homer
Sherman: You tell him, Mr. Peabody
Mr. Peabody: Quiet you.

Homer: Wow, I’m the first non-Brazillian person to travel through time.
(Mr. Peabody and Sherman appear)
Mr. Peabody: Correction, Homer, you’re the second.
Sherman: You tell him, Mr. Peabody
Mr. Peabody: Quiet you.

Actually Sherman says, “That’s right Mr. Peabody!” and Peabody says, “Quiet you.”
