I’ve had a sort of similar problem. One of my Business guys who gets the heli leaves for work at 10 AM. (I can’t remember if I had the helicopter when he went to work at 9 AM) His sister-in-law also goes to work in Medicine at 10 AM. She will get on the helicopter, but some of the time it’s too loud for her (she walks away with her hands over her ears) so I have to make sure that I’m watching her closely so that she doesn’t miss work.
Even though they’re in different career tracks, and it’s the Business guy’s helicopter in theory, anyone with any job with the same start time will take it, provided I can actually get them to get it.
Has anyone else had this happen with the Broke family?
When I started playing, Dustin Broke and Angela Pleasant were already going steady.
I played the Pleasant family until the teen girls, Angela and Lilith, reached adulthood.
I then moved Lilith out of the house to live with (now) adult Darrin Dreamer.
Lilith still shows in the Pleasant family member screen for some reason.
Anyways, back to the Brokes.
Dustin never has any homework, yet his grades keep going up.
Angel Pleasant (now an adult) will call the house and ask Dustin if he wants to sneak out! The first time I selected “yes” thinking it had to be a glitch (the incident with harmless and Snoop should’ve made me think twice about that, though :smack: ) but sure enough, she showed up in a limo to pick him up and everything happened as normal after that.
First off, I thought you the player had to initiate that.
Secondly, I thought it was only teen-to-teen, not Adult-to-teen.
So, is my Angela a pedophile or did I just read the guide wrong?
I’m at work and the guide is at the house, but regardless, anyone else have this happen?
I had a really weird glitch the other day. One of my Sims invited a pregnant male Sim to move in with him. I had plans for raising the alien hybrid to childhood and kicking out the roommate. However, this was not to be, for the baby wasn’t ever going to grow up. This kid was a baby for seven straight Sim days; the “help with birthday” option never showed up, and it didn’t autonomously grow up either. I experimented with the baby, trying to get the social worker to pick it up by putting it in its own enclosed shed in the backyard, but it didn’t work. I tried more gruesome deaths by putting it in an enclosed space with a fire, but it somehow found its way out.
So I kicked out both the roommate and the baby (via the “find own place” option) and married him to the maid instead. She has an ambition to have ten kids, which I plan to fill. The only problem is that now I can’t call the former roommate, so the relationship is going to degrade.
When I played the Broke family, they both died of the flu. Since they both had really low aspiration scores when they died, they’re very active ghosts, who like to terrorize the elderly couple that now lives in their house.
That is very odd.
You didn’t happen to have ever put in an “aging off” cheat on that lot, did you?
Even if it was before the current family? Apparently it saves to the lot.
I noticed last night that a brand new sim my brother made wasn’t aging and then I remembered on the previous resident (harold harsh from above post) I had turned off the aging before he moved in with the Pleasants. Turning it back on set it right.
I finally killed of a Sim, but not one of my own. One of my Sims’ aspiration is to see a ghost, but I liked all the Sims in my family too much to kill one so I killed off Amin(?) instead. Sucker took FOUR DAYS to die! I had finally given up on checking on him (had just built a wall around him, which I guess is why it took so long) when I noticed one of my Sims going towards Amin, with “Sigh” as her action. Sure enough, the Grim Reaper was there and took poor Amin away. I took down the walls, leaving a nice little tombstone behind, and directed one of my Sims (the one who’d originally brought him home from work one day) to mourn. My Sim gives this phony-ass sob, then shrugs and makes this sound like “Eh, whatever” and goes off to dance with someone.
It was great! But next time, I kill via pool. Too bad you can’t drop the food processor in the pool and get it over with quick.
He retired the next day. That’s not suspicious, is it?
Also, I have been playing this family for about a week, after taking a break from the first family (actually, the original plan was to have Family B churn out a teenage girl worth dating the son from the first family, but I got sidetracked.) At any rate, Family A was a nice, happy, successful family. Family B was much the same, with 5 friggin kids to boot - hell to manage. After getting Family B’s father to the top of his career track, and churning out several successful teens (and 1 successful teen-to-adult) I went back to Family A. And what is Family A’s mom’s four aspirations? ALL of them are related to flirting/kissing/admiring with Family B’s dad, despite the fact that I carefully avoided having him engage in romantic interactions with anyone but his wife.
Yeah. I played the Pleasants and Dreamers until Angela, Lilith, and Dirk became adults, then had Lilith move in with Darren & Dirk to get her away from the rest of her family. I’ve moved on to the Brokes and guess who Dustin is brining home from school? Angela the Adult! She’s also asked him to sneak out.
Hmmm… and one of the Brandi’s last names is Letourneau… Coincidence?
Which, by the way, reminds me, I apparently have TWO townies named Marylena Hamilton. It kept telling me she wasn’t a family friend anymore, but every time I looked, she was. Then I actually paid attention, and it was showing me a different Sim - there’s two with the same name. Odd.
If it happened again you might could try deleting the baby with the “moveobjects on” cheat.
I think I read someone saying that in this game, when you delete them they stay gone.
Version one would reset their needs to full and their skills to the last saved amount so it was kind of like cheating.
Has anyone else noticed how jittery the coffe makes them? I thought my sim was about to explode at first until I realized what was making him shake.
TellMeI’mNotCrazy - Ah! I know who you’re talking about now.
I just never paid attention to her name before.
I started a new family: The Trash’s. Janice, Michael and their 4 kids, and Janice’s brother Jimmy and his toddler, who recently grew up to kid. I made everyone sloppy, playful and outgoing, and they’ve managed to destroy the house. Everyone had the flu when roaches overtook the house, one of the kids has already been taken by the social worker for not doing his homework, another is pretty close to that, and I suspect they’ll all be gone before reaching adulthood. Time for Janice and Michael to pop out a few more. I’ve tried to be as hands-off as possible to see how they handle things on their own.
Joey Vernal, after knocking up his roommate’s wife and daughter, decided to move out. As he was walking to the taxi, the phone started ringing. One of the Vernals picked it up and a message box came up asking if Joey was available to talk. Without thinking, I hit ‘yes’. He didn’t go to the phone or to the cab, and his control button disappeared. He just stood there and the end of the walk talking with the neighbors. As time went on he started complaining, but still wouldn’t go anywhere. He got stinky, passed out a couple of times, and finally died right next to the mailbox.
Now the weird part: I switched to the town view and Joey was still available, so I moved him into a new house and played him for a while. The next time I started up the game and selected him, however, he was a ghost, but I could still direct his actions. This went on for a few minutes until a dialog box came up saying that Joey had died on another lot, so his spirit would be transferred there. He then vanished, leaving the TV on and no way to shut it off. Strange.
Is his spirit at the old lot now? That would almost come in handy for those sims with the knowledge aspiration who want to see a ghost. I can never find a handy ghost when I need one to boost that meter.
Although I’m thinking I might have more ghosts soon, I need some of these elders to die off to make more room in the houses. My system is dragging a little on the lots with 7 or 8 family members, and throw the maid and the gardener and whatever random strangers the kids bring home from school, and it’s REALLY dragging.
