Single Favorite Beatles Song?

“Something” Abbey Road

Wavering between Blackbird and Here Comes The Sun.

“For No One” has been in my final four to, strange that this not so well known song is so popular. Yet, too depressing to be an all time favorite. So:

Sexy Sadie

Wavering all the time between a large pool of songs though…

in the spirit of jsc1953;

early – Hold Me Tight
early mid – You’re Going to Loose That Girl
mid – Hey Bulldog
late mid – I Am the Walrus
early late – Hey Jude
late – I Want You/She’s So Heavy
very late – Real Love

Can’t choose one, although “Taxman” is resonating with me this week.

Needs an update:

Let me tell you how it will be…

Two.

“Across the Universe,” because a good friend of mine sang it backstage at a school play once and it was so beautiful that it just stuck with me.

“While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” for no real reason.

Definitely Let it Be. I get chills when I hear it. Does Paul McCartney have the best male singing voice ever? Maybe.

The runners up would be Hey Jude, Come Together, and Blackbird.

“Here Comes the Sun”

Across The Universe

“Here Comes the Sun”

Another one for Across the Universe.

You know, if you break my heart I’ll go,
But I’ll Be Back again.

I might take up the guitar if I thought I’d ever be able to play the chords in that song even passably well.

Penny Lane.

Because every band writes songs of lust, loss, heartbreak, angry young men and all the rest of it, but how many capture the sheer joy of being alive?

This is hard to answer!

Let’s see…I have a soft spot for Michelle because it takes me back to childhood when my dad would play the Beatles. It’s the song I best remember hearing as a kid.

However, a few years ago I dug out my dad’s old records and heard I’ve Just Seen A Face for the first time. My immediate reaction was “How come I’ve never heard this one before??!”.

Sooo… if someone was holding a gun to my head, I’d say I’ve Just Seen A Face because I will never ever get tired of hearing it.

Certainly it is “Hey Bulldog” tucked away on Yellow Submarine.

Unless, of course, it is “Good Morning, Good Morning” from Sgt. Pepper’s.

Why Don’t We Do It In The Road

Tough question!

I’m going to have to say Golden Slumbers

“In My Life”…I love you more.

‘octopus’ garden’ (why doesn’t anyone like this one?) or ‘i me mine’

Toughie, for sure.
At other times I might say “Blackbird” or “Rocky Racoon” or “For No One” or “Good Day Sunshine” … all for personal reasons.
(as much of a Lennon fan I am, I admit, I think McCartney was a much more talented songwiter)

But for overall goodness, I suppose I’d have to go with “A Day In The Life” as well.
