Sitting on my front steps with the last G&T of summer

It’s a very mild October. Leaves are just starting to change, and it’s been 20 C most of the day.

Sitting on the front steps with what may be the last G&T of the summer; weather could change suddenly.

Tanqueray No. 10, FeverTree tonic (elderflower version), and limes.

Some sort of political demonstration seems to have been happening down the street in the park; people are walking back, chatting and carrying signs.

Off to make chili soon.

Here in California it’s unseasonably hot. It was nearly 100 F in the Sacramento area today. I think I’ll be drinking G&Ts for a few more weeks yet.

Margaritas in SoCal, but with you in spirit(s). Heck, I have Aviation, Fever Tree and limes off the tree in the back yard next door. Gimme a sec…

Right there with you!

Chin-chin!

My new favorite user name (from Jalopnik): Gin-and-panic.

We spent Sunday on our pontoon boat. It was an intensely beautiful day, yet we kept talking about how likely it is that it would be our last river day.

Tanq #10? And here I thought you were a man of discerning tastes. Color me mightily confused.

I spent the weekend in Las Vegas where the daily high was 102F / 39C and the locals were glad of the respite from the real heat. But even so it was unseasonably warm for there then. Very very pleasant sipping a cocktail by a pool.
