Six Degrees of Mumpers – a connectivity MMP

There’s an Olympics going on? :dubious: I’m caffeinated, and getting ready for work. I cleaned the bathroom. Thrak stabbed me in the finger. I think he needs Mellowkat brand cat food, with extra vitamin Q(uaalude).

Soapy cats with opposable thumbs would be a bad thing.

Good morning everyone.

Bobbio, I avoid the Olympics too. They’re boooooorrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiing.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m kind of sad it’s Friday. That means I only have today, tomorrow and Sunday, and then I have to head back to work. These last two weeks off have been extremely nice, if not incredibly busy.

I have to call a friend today and see about going to lunch with her. I never did call to see about getting my hair done, so I’m sure that won’t be happening this week.

Tomorrow, I take my daughter down to the University for her math placement test, and after that we’re going to our neighbor’s parents’ house on the lake to wakeboard, hangout, and generally have a good time.

Sunday, we’re taking my Dad out for dinner since his birthday is tomorrow.

I need to make some coffee so I can fully wake up.

::shakes hips at Nooner::

I’d really like more caffination right now. Could someone please arrange for us to have decent coffee at work? Thanks.

If cats had opposable thumbs, they could do it.

If my boxers could understand English, they’d bite me daily for insulting them.

Morning, all. *Blurf * indeed. Lucky me, today the headache is back. Oh well, it’s still better than the all-over body aches I had three days ago. Kind of.

If my cat had opposable thumbs, she would have taken out the dogs a long time ago. Not to mention Papa Tigs; she gets annoyed that he insists on getting in bed and sleeping on her pillows every night. I think I prefer her not to be quite that dexterous, thank you very much!

I’d rather hang out and yak, but alas, my usually favorite job turned job from hell still awaits. I am determined to get the first big chunk of it done today. So that means working instead of goofing off. What is wrong with this picture? And why can’t I be independently wealthy so I could just goof off all the time?

There was a certain magic to the Olympics when ABC had the coverage, but that’s ancient history now.

The last I watched with interest was the 1980 Winter Games, and the Greatest Hockey Win Of All Time[sup]tm[/sup].

Hahaha!

Despite how scary cats with opposable thumbs would be, if Lily could make me GOOD coffee and bring it to work, I think I’d be willing to take my chances!

Taxi, we have a fancy coffee maker here at work with lots of choices, I sent something through the CD drive for you. Did you get it yet?

MT, I’m sorry to read you’re still feeling poorly.

Bobbio, I’ve never found the Summer Olympics interesting. I’ve always found the Winter Olympics more interesting.

I guess we’re going going out to brekkies. Hubby went into work, but his truck was still being worked on for B service and they didn’t have another for him to drive. So, he came home. Yesterday, he was home by 11:30 because his truck needed the service. I can’t believe they didn’t have his truck done. He doesn’t mind being off, in fact, he’s happy about it.

I’ll bet my dog wishes he had opposable thumbs. He does know how to unwrap Christmas presents though. It’s funny to watch him Christmas morning. I guess we’re easily amused.

We got the home entertainment system working yesterday. Yes, now we can watch and hear movies and TV in booming surround sound. I have to admit, though, watching Blue Ray discs is a huge improvement from regular discs or even HD.

That’s it. I’m sleeping all weekend, and woe be to anyone who tries to change my mind on that.

Maybe when I wake up on Monday, people will have developed some common sense and the ability to actually use their words to express what they want, instead of expecting me to read their minds. It would be nice if I could learn to be telepathic and if it could rain marshmallows… but I’m not holding my breath.

I think today is an angry music day.

I’m really really scared of what the cats would do to me if they grew opposable thumbs. Probably pinch my feet until I fed them, because they’d still be too lazy to actually feed themselves.

Mahna, I just saw your post regarding the subway incident. ::shudder::

You know what I tell people who expect me to be a mind reader? I tell them that I left my swami hat at home and they’ll have to tell me what they actually want.

Temps are supposed to hit 95 today.

I took 4 hours off - hardly worth going in today, except my team lead told me what my next project would be - sounds interesting. I took the long way home, via Waldorf, so I could drop off some paperwork I forgot to mail. I just finished a couple of 'mater sammiches, and in a little bit, I’m going to run the vacuum all over the scattered dog hair on the carpet. Then I’ll don grubbies and go have some clay play. I’ve got 2 craft shows lined up - one in Sep and one in Oct - so I need some new stock. Plus I need to do something fun.

Today, summer camp is over. The counselors go out for a party tonight, then my baby comes home tomorrow. First thing in the morning, FCD, SIL and I get to go to the dump, followed by loading all the sheetrock on the trailer, driving it around to the back, and unloading it before the rain arrives. After lunch, we’ll go to the rental place to get the panel lift, and by the time the weekend is over, we’ll have pretty much all the sheetrock installed. yay!

Count me among the Olympic ignorers. But I’m not much into sports anyway, and when you add international politics, it becomes a bigger meh. What little I see is when my surfing spousal unit stops for a few minutes. Like last night when the bikini-clad jocks were playing volleyball…

And if Taz had thumbs, he’d open the front door and explore the world beyond. Lucky for the world, he’s an inside feline.

Perfect! Thanks!

As much as I love my job, I think my company’s doing something wrong. The 3rd person in a couple months from one group (not mine) left the company yesterday. And completely without notice. One of my group members left back in the spring, too, without notice. I’m not sure what it is that we’re doing that inspires people to burn bridges, but it can’t be good! Strangely, it’s the best job I’ve had.

 Now that’s crazy talk, woman! It’s not enough, the havoc they wreak already?

**Muppet **-- why the bad mood? :frowning: And I cringed at your subway experience too.

**Cutie **-- hope you’re felling better!

**Haze **-- Hi! Long time no see

::Ogles appreciatively:: So, how you doin’ today?

Bad for us, not something I’d want, but they’d be happier!

I was typing, watching my cat (who was lying on my desk) desperately try to pick up the string to a stopwatch, that inspired my feelings on cats and thumbs.

The CO just gave us liberty. w00t!

I’ze goin’ home early. Neener neener!

Gave you liberty? Do they chain you to your desk at work?

:stuck_out_tongue:

I’s all finished with the work pile! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! Think I’ll celebrate poolside for a while.

Even worse than cats with thumbs SFW

Where the hell do you people find these things???

(It was really funny)

Gotta fly (so to speak)- I’m off to the bank!
