Yikes, what is up with Taz?! Maybe you should start calling him Scarf, to go with LiLi’s Mittens and Slippers, FCM! I’m guessing that he didn’t have anything physically wrong with him. That behavior is well beyond bratty, unfortunately.
In other news, the weather right now is wonderful - I’ve got my patio door open letting the cool, natural breeze in. Beautiful! No real plans for this weekend. I’m trying to learn how to crochet the granny square. laughs Trying being the operative word in that sentence, btw. I did find one video on youtube that seems to work for me, though–in so many, the teacher would just do the stitches but not explain what they were doing. I did find one person, though, who explained in an understandable fashion exactly what they were doing, and showed the stitching at a slow enough speed that I could actually follow. Yes, my poor addled brain needs to be explained to in slow speed.
GT, you’re a better person than I - up and ready to paint so early. Hope the weather is nice in your area too; it will definitely make the painting more tolerable. Good luck!
FCM, we could do the lovely Mittens and Hat thing. That would be nice. Cat fur’s really soft.
This is weird. The guys (big one and little one) are still asleep. Maybe I’ll go back to bed. What am I doijng up?
Other Quasi-Daughter was supposed to let me know when they’re coming this weekend. She has not given me any sort of info, so I assume that they’re not coming, and if she calls to give me a time I plan on being unaccomadating. Which looks wrong but I just woke and I’m back to bed. Bye!
Well, I’ll be off to Joann Fabric earlier this morning. I’ve only got the waistband and the hem left on my skirt. However, last night when the bobbin ran out of thread, somehow that little foot that holds the fabric in place fell off and while I was adding thread to the bobbin the needle was jamming into the foot and snapped in two places. Of course it was my last needle. I think while I’m there I’m going to look at patterns for hats. I made a really cool hat once, but I measured it wrong and when I wore the thing it felt way too tight. But I think I’d like to try again.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. I slept in til 7:45 which is pretty late for me. Ol’ y’all know who is still snoozin’ it up. It’s cloudy out but I’m thinkin’ it’ll clear up by afternoon. No big plans today. Yay!
Tummy is rumbly. Maybe I’ll make bacon and aigs. That’ll get somebody stirred up and out of bed!
If it’s the kind with a sketchy label in a glass jar, it’ll probably be okay. There are some packaged brands that are decent as well.
Still trying to recover from last night. I woke up an hour and 10 minutes before I had to be at work - the commute is usually a little over an hour. My dad had to drive me. Perks of living with parents.
Ohhh, hope this is a trend, LiLi. Of course, now that he has you used to an ungodly early schedule, you’ll be the Mom who gets up early and gets stuff done before anyone else can interrupt. No?
We bought a bunch of school supplies for kids who are bein’ raised by their grandmothers. It’s one of our church’s outreach projects. It was fun. Especially the look on the cashier’s face in Big Lots when we wheeled a waaaaaaaay loaded up buggy up to checkout full of nuttin’ but school supplies. It looked like we have twenty kids at home.
Okay, so my plan to sleep all weekend has been foiled by a combination of gamboling cats, gorgeous sunshine, and friends who are coming by soon to pick us up for some vegetarian dim sum.
All in all, I suppose there are worse ways to have my plans foiled.
On that note… off I go to put some clothes on and get myself purtified.*
*Ahem. Minds out of gutters please… I’m wearing PJs. Eeeesh.
I don’t know why you all hate your kittehs so. Sure, Smokey hornks in stategic places all the time, several in places I walk. But I would never dream of tunring her into accessories. Shame on you. Don’t Thrak and Taz purr and cuddle enough to make up for the messes? Smokey is on my shoulder right now, purring away.
snerk I wonder if the person who wrote the last letter held off on calling anyone until after Abby answered his question. “Hello, police? My elderly roommate died six weeks ago and I didn’t know who to call until the paper came this morning.” Haze, do you need a do-over on today?
No - go to yesterday’s column. (he posted last night) That one is snark worthy. I was thinking of a few myself as I reda it. But I’d never presume to out snark you
Up after weird dreams about France and painting what looked like sets inside a house. Don’t ask me–no idea, it’s just my brain.
I am riding my bike up to the library today. Ever since we spread that mulch, I’ve been feeling a bit winded and tend to get slightly short of breath easily. Every morning I have a cough that sometimes brings up stuff. Ack. Me no wantee pneumonia again. I have no temp or anything and I’m not tired like I was with pneumonia, so I’m monitoring myself.
If Simon ever pees ON me, he goes straight to the pound. Sorry, but that’s my limit. Any way to lock them in the basement or similar at night? (with food and water and box–I’m not cruel). We do it every night (well, when we remember). Simon gets me up at about 0500 every day that I don’t remember to put him downstairs.
Good luck on the caulking, GT. I don’t mind caulking; it’s sanding I can’t stand.
Eh well, it’s nearing midnight over here. All I really need is some sleep.
Work was amusing; many were hungover and grumpy. :: points to self :: I’m not thrilled with my work schedule - I got two half-days AGAIN, but at least I have two full days off this time. One of them is Saturday too. Awesome.
Today I take my daughter to the University for math placement test. After that, it’s off to the lake for hubby and I. But between that, I’ll have to drop my daughter off at work. They just called her and asked her to come in for a 5-9 shift. Grrrrr…she was supposed to be off today. Her test runs from 2-4, so we’ll basically be rushing her to work right after the test. Hopefully, she’ll finish her test a little early and will be able to leave.
It was so damn hot yesterday and today promises to be more of the same. It’s supposed to start cooling down a bit tomorrow, though.
