Six Feet Under - Series Finale - 8/21

I agree. Brenda gave birth to a preemie, who spent some serious time in neonatal ICU before going home. David went to his parent’s home while he combated his anxiety disorder, and stayed there long enough to make some serious progress. David and Keith not only bought Fisher and Sons, but redecorated from floor to ceiling before moving their family in.

It felt to me as if time were accelerating as the episode progressed. At first it was hours between scenes, then days, then weeks, then months. By the end of the montage, it was decades. As the camera cuts to Claire driving across the desert between shots of the future deaths, we see the road in the background speed up until the landscape is a blur.

Yes, and there was that shot of Claire getting something out of the fridge right before her big talk with Ruth, and we see a snapshots of Willa and Maya on the fridge. Willa looks to be a couple of months old. Add in the time for Rico to get his new place and for David and Keith to remodel the old house (“It’s a ‘gay’ kitchen!” ) and this episode had to cover at the very least six or more months.
