So what happened to Nate’s wife? Not having had HBO for a long time, I’ve only seen the first two seasons in full. This season has been a bit spotty, I’m afraid. I know that Lisa disappeared, but

I haven’t seen the last episode of the last season yet. In that show, do we find out about Lisa’s disappearance?
Here’s what happens:
In the last episode of the season, Nate is informed by the police that they’ve found Lisa’s body, but we don’t learn any details. He goes on a bender, gets beat up in a bar, and ends up at Brenda’s. Here’s a synopsis from HBO, and one from Television Without Pity (very long)
When do the new shows start?
I missed the episodes where Lisa disappeared and where they found her car. Based on the episode where Nate plays out possible scenarios, that’s what I suspected happened.
There’s another episode towards the end, I think the next-to-last,
where there’s a scene in the kitchen where Ruth says something like, “Hey, this is one of Lisa’s Dr. Peppers in the fridge” and Nate says she doesn’t drink soda because she thinks its toxic, but everyone else (Ruth, Claire and David) all confirm that she did indeed drink Dr. Pepper, just not around him. The police had already found her car at the rest stop (in the previous episode), with Dr. Pepper cans in it, and Nate had wondered whose they were. This makes him play out odd scenarios in his head about what happened to her. The Dead Guy of the Week was a serial killer, and one of the scenarios was him (Dead Guy of the Week) approaching her and killing her; another was Lisa sitting in her car with some other guy, drinking Dr. Pepper and talking about getting away from Nate because she never really loved him, and going away with this other guy in the other guy’s car.
The final episode is where he gets the call that her body had been found, and he gets drunk, gets beat up, and ends up at Brenda’s. That’s how it all ended. We never really found out exactly how she died. I guess we’ll find out when the new shows start. Drowned, killed, suicide?
I saw the nest-to-last episode. Twice.
Normally I hate spoilers; but in this case, it’s my own fault for missing the last episode. (As opposed to reading spoilers for a new show that is showing the same night, and has already aired on the East Coast.)
Also in the last episode, Ruth and whats-his-name (James Cromwell) got married. I think there’s something suspicous about him. He’s been married several times before (his explanations for why they all broke up were a little off - a cuople of them died, and his divorces were strange), his book didn’t have his picture on it, and been published by a vanity press, and there was something else that seemed to raise a red flag.
There was a cute scene back at the house with David and Keith dancing, and Claire and Maya dancing.
Also, Claire had an abortion. SHe was pregnant by the Ben Foster character.
Yeah, and I heard that the Ben Foster character – who had been proclaiming his heterosexuality – slept with their art teacher.
More on the last episode:
Claire saw her dead father again, and they talked. She also saw the creepy boyfriend from the first season (Gabe?). He was dead, and was with his little brother who had killed himself accidentally with the gun in that one episode.
Then she went into a masoleum and saw Lisa. She chased after her and talked to her a bit and said something like, “If I knew you were going to die, I’d have
gotten to know you better (or been nicer to you).” Something along those lines.
Lisa then said, “You take care of Maya, and I’ll take care of him” and motioned to a tiny baby in a baby seat on the floor, which was supposed to be Claire’s aborted baby, I guess. It was rather creepy and morbid.
