There was a thread last month about whether or not one cleans dishes before putting them into the washer.
Having worked on Mama’s dishwasher with the little hoses stopped up with gunk, I scrape and rinse dishes before they go in. I never wanted to clear tubes of “Dishwasher Stew” again.
Howdy from da cave! Ok, been here a while. Leftovers for dindin tonight. They got all et up. OYKW left to go back to his orifice for a bit and then to his place. I have decided that tomorrow’s dindin will be brekkie. Since there’s ham left from Moanday, I foresee hams, cheesey aigs, grits, and bizkits. YUM!
Taters that sucks re your dishwasher. I say call 'em. Seriously, it couldn’t hurt.

Diswasher Stew… it’s what’s for dinner! ![]()
Didn’t really look purple to me, and I suspect nephew-in-law-to-be would hate all the foo-foo frilly. Come to that, niece might very well not care for something that fussy. I know I wouldn’t, and neither would Princess Allie, because there really wouldn’t be a comfy kitty-curl-up spot.
I made the mistake of looking at Instant Messenger. Someone from work wanted to ask me just one question. I think that was at about 10am. I just finished. Because IM led to email led to phone calls. Aack. I iz stoopid.
I also managed to start re-reprogramming the AC but not finish. So it was set to “set” all day. I kept going by and checking the visible temp. Yes, it says the right number, but nothing is happening. I finally opened the door and realized that I hadn’t spun the little wheel back around. Harrumph. It works much better on “run”.
The cats have advanced to sneak attacks. They wait until the fluff is asleep. Then they cautiously tiptoe up to her. They sniff her. Hmmm. What is that thing? Then they slink off.
Worked, came home, got my new coffee maker from Amazon(the old one decided that fresh brewed coffee shold taste like it was sitting on a conveinece store hotplate for four hours). I’m off to the Bistro to watch the Stanley Cup game with some of my tailgate group.
So you like going to The Peking Moon?![]()
Cool.
Taters, that sucks. They ought to do something for you to make up for the wait.
Purple is one of the color options, and I wasn’t being serious. My niece and my daughter were both unimpressed and marginally terrified. Oh well…
**doggio **- I friended my new nephew and discovered he’s a hockey fanatic. Thought you’d like to know… ![]()
Supper was pretty yum - poke teriyaki, fresh 'maters, cuke, celery, plus corn muffins. We’s both stuffded.
I shall now go lie upon the bed and stare at mindless teevee programmin’ until sleepy time.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
My mother is apparently (finally) in the hospital. My dad’s with her. Not sure exactly what’s going on at the moment, but hopefully my mother can get some help.

I think it’s bed time for me also. I was up late last night, then there was all that mowing and fresh air and sunshine to kick my butt. So nitey-nite!!
MWAH!
Thanks, rosie.
As I always say (since I read it on a bumper sticker) “Help control the pet population - eat at a Chinese Buffet at least once a week”. ![]()
See everyone Monday.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) saw the African Queen on cable, G-d bless her, and we watched. I have seen it several times, and not understood the words to the song Bogart was singing, but we had sub titles on from watching Hannibal, and I understood enough to find it on google.
For your appreciation, There Was a Bold Fisherman.

Another cool morning teasing us before the heat and humidity overwhelm us. My mission today is to obtain a sheet of 3/4" plywood. I hope some nice worker at Lowe’s will help me load it in my truck. And since Lowe’s is close to WalMart, I can get another box of kitteh litter and some kitteh kibbles, since our supply is pretty low. I needed something else from there, but for the life of me, I can’t recall. I’m sure I’ll remember after I get home.
Other than that, no specific plans. I’m going to get these errands done early, before the HOT sets in. And I’ll probably run the vacuum cleaner. Something will come up no doubt.
But for now, I’ll caffeinate in peace.
Oh yeah, I remember now - a bottle of Nature’s Miracle. Must make a list.
Happy Thursday!!
Morning, mumpers! Happy Thorsday…it is all bright and shiny outside and I will be stuck in the office all day running reports for exam boards. Bah. Humbug. And of course I have to run around chasing up missing marks and things that are all for other departments so I will be sending snarky emails out later.
In other news, errr…nuffinks!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89 and maybe rain this afternoon/evenin’. We had a biiiiiiiiiiiig Tstorm last night around nine o’clock.
{{{Midget}}} sorry your mom’s in the hospital but glad she’s gettin’ the help she needs.
Boofae send PSWSLPNS out to round up the missin’ stuff.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Part of today shall be spent gettin’ on-line learnt. I believe that will catch me up. Rah.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Our credit union web page includes a program that tracks your income and spending by category. It learns, so it knows that our charges at WaWa are classified as gasoline, charges at Food Lion goes under groceries, etc. Last week I got my hair cut. The charge to Hair Cuttery came up as Health and Fitness. Not sure how it came up with that decision, but I guess it’s better than being called Home Improvement…
The data can be downloaded as a spreadsheet, which is pretty cool. I can sort by category and track our spending. It’s a more precise way of managing our budget. Instead of saying “I think our utilities run $XXX per month” I can go back 6 months, then compute an average. It’s helped us economize in our retirement. Wish it had been available years ago - it’s a great tool.
And on that note, I should probably shower, dress, and head to Lowe’s. The loverly coolness won’t last.
