Got the eye treatment over with , the new battery for the truck (it tested low this oil change), and half the groceries bought. The rim will be in Monday. It’s going from a drizzly day to the beginning of sleet, so I’m going to stay in and fix supper.
That’s what ya do with the three French hens come January. 
Did a 9 hour shift today just to see if I could survive it. I surprised myself by not only doing well but pretty much cranking packages around at the same speed at the end of the day as I started. I’m old, fat and out of shape but not as badly so as I thought. I can see though why the standard is 4-6 hours; doing this all the time would break even healthy people sooner or later.
howdy all! TGIF even though I am irking a half day tomorrow. New girl starts next Friday so about a month after that I hope I can have my weekends back.
My network computer was finally fixed around 10 am so I stayed an hour after closing trying to get caught up on accounts payable I was not able to do without SAP.
I got my W2 today. It was hand delivered by personnel instead of mailed. I have decided I don’t make enough money. Even with my recent pitiful raise. I also checked leave balances when doing payroll today. We are only allowed to carry over 240 hours. Last pay period I was at 248 so I took a day off. I earn 6 each period. I am at 240 right now so I lost 6 hours :(. Not at all happy to lose leave because I was not able to use it due to being short of staff. I am going to ask the director to reinstate it. We shall see.
I am going to training in March for a week to Disneyworld. They are putting us up at the animal kingdom lodge which will be cool. There is another training in May in Orlando but I told my lead she could do that one. It’s only fair. Besides that these are not vacations. Work from 0800 to bedtime.
We are supposed to have rain tomorrow and wind as a little cold front comes through. I hope it rains all day. I need a quiet day at irk.

My life is so exciting, sitting inside on a Friday night watching it snow.
There was a time I’d been out partying, snow or no snow, weather was a challenge not a deterrent.
No snow here - just some rain. Which is good because I don’t have a son to shovel. For a short time, I had a daughter and a son-in-law to shovel, but he was a pretty lazy lump and I could out-shovel him, even at my advanced age and lousy physical condition.
Speaking of my daughter - brag time! She got the highest category rating for her assessment last year and this year, and she’ll be getting a raise! Plus a bonus! Apparently her county does merit pay. Needless to say, she’s happy, what with having to get a root canal and a crown. She’s also got a temporary extra bit of pay for being the mentor to a new teacher. The new guy is in his 40s, and not only is this his first teaching job, but back when he was in school, it was a private prep school. He knows nothing of public schools! So my baby girl is going to get him up to speed. And it confirms what I already knew - she’s a darn good teacher. So yay!
**FCD **got an email from a guy he interviewed with in Nov 2013 looking for a part time drafter. He forwarded it to me and I replied with my resume. I may have committed a faux pas, but I told the guy right off that I wouldn’t come to work for less than a specific amount. I don’t want to waste his time and mine if he’s trying to get a super-low level drafter. I’m not desperate for work so I’ve decided what my time is worth. So we shall see what happens come Monday. It would require me to drive back to Dahlgren, crossing the stoopit Nice Bridge again. On the other hand, I might get to meet with some former coworkers for lunch while there. We shall see…
No plans for the weekend. I see a lot of crocheting and TV watching, since the weather is supposed to be crap. They’re talking up to 3" of snow on Monday. How much longer till spring??

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinated so no YAWN. ‘Tis 46 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 54 and sunny for the day, though somewhat windy out right now. The weather in Ye Olde Home Towne is about the same which is good since that’s where we’re headin’ in a little while.
I shall soon get myself purtified. OYKW is in the midst of his purtification as I post. We shall grab a bizkit from Hardees since we can pull into a drive through on the way in large and in charge Dawson, Jawja. I’m plannin’ on bein’ back by dark time this evenin’. A nice day visit with tolerable weather. Always a good thing.
Ok, I reckon I should commence with the purtification. Y’all behave today! Yeah, like that’ll happen.

It’s one degree above freezing. It snowed a bit more this am but it didn’t last long nor amount to much. Sah-son went out at 4am and shoveled our sidewalk and the neighbors walk as well.
It’s supposed to get up to 39 so any residue should melt and the walks should be clear.
Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 40s and then the temps drop to way below freezing with more snow.

I wonder if I should say something to my neighbor.
I never see her though and it seems like she is never home. I noticed she had plastic in one of her back windows upstairs. I thought it was plastic over a glass window but the plastic has been shredded and there is NO window.
As the plastic blows around you can see clothes hanging near the window.
I would think she would know, there has to be a tremendous amount of cold air coming in but it’s been that way for a least a week and nothing has been done to fix it.
I’m always torn between minding my own business and feeling like I should say something.

So, would you call it a good morning or a bad morning when the ceiling tile above RT’s head (which is below the upstairs bathroom) crashed onto the bed along with some, uh, water, after we got up? :eek:
We will be buying a new mattress.
I’d see about getting the ceiling patched first. 
Might want to find that leak in the bathroom, too.
