Good luck to you, anyrose. SSDI can be a real PITA to get approved, even if it seems obvious to everyone!
It’s 30-something. Caffeinating ongoing, feeding the bunny complete. Now I have to get clothes on and remove snow from SUV. And then in just a day or so, a boatload more snow will be dumped on my SUV. Well, at least I don’t drive a Smart car – I think 24" of snow would bury those!
Oh, and I have to take all the garbage from my balcony to the dumpster (Cue “Alice’s Restaurant”). When I had the flu/asthma combo, I literally couldn’t manage getting the trash out of the apartment – stairs, no elevator – so I put it on the balcony where it turned into garbage-cicles. :p:D Well, at least it doesn’t smell. But I gotta move it before 24" of snow is dumped on the area.
Boo-hoo says the one in the age bracket to have to hold off full social security until 67.
wabbit, I’m in a walk up too. Whenever I go down for something else, if I’m not carrying anything and there’s trash or something else needing to go down, I grab it. I’ve even been known to put a visiting friend or two to work that way.
I’ll be doing laundry today and fixingsupper/freezer rotation meals. The rest of the day will be spent surfing, playing in the studio and napping.
Gravity is your friend! Just drop them over the railing, then go downstairs and haul them to the dumpster! What could possibly go wrong with that plan??
We went to Golden Corral to try their breakfast buffet. It was OK, but they’ve removed a lot of items since the last time I went to one of their locations. Off the top of my head, I remember they used to have breakfast casseroles. Not now, at least not in the one near us. But they had french toast made with banana nut bread, and that was quite tasty!
We ran into the prez of the last company **FCD **worked for before retiring (and the first temp job I had) - their business has really fallen off, and a lot of folks either quit or were fired. (like the supposed business guy who was hired to bid on all new contracts. They were paying him an ass-load and he didn’t bring in any business at all!!) Anyway, I found out I’m still on-call with them and they bid me on contracts as an engineer. Dunno what I’d do if they won a contract based on my resume. I don’t know if I want to work for them again. But it’s probably not an issue.
On the way home, we stopped at WalMart so I could get a little more black yarn to finish the latest lap robe. Then we ran by Tractor Supply because **FCD **was looking for some tool accessory. They’re getting ready for spring already! Seeds and tillers and riding mowers are all on display! Ah, dreams…
I just tidied the kitchen. Beyond that, no plans for today.
My sister went to college uppa your way many years ago. She took a picture of a 2" piece of wire in the snow. It was the car antenna, the only visible part of the car.
Home from deheathenization. We had sammiches for N.O.L. OYKW is at his place now to do laundry and such. I am in possession of a coupon for buy one, get one free at Sonny’s so we shall dine upon bbq this evenin’. YUM!
I have some boneless chikin boobs and thighs simmerin’ away as I post. They shall become chikin ‘n dumplin’s for tomorrow night’s dindin. YUM! I froze some cooked collard greens that we didn’t finish off week before last. They shall be a good side for chikin’ 'n dumplin’s.
That’s the way mine’ll be. There will be no retirement for people my age. It’ll be one of those fairy tales we’ll tell our grandchildren at bedtime.
I have six clementine boxes. Three of them are being used for craft stuff. One is holding onions. (Well, **an **onion.) The other two are still full of clementines. When those are empty, I’ll have to find something to stuff in them and a place to put them (I’m thinking under the sink). Also, I may have a seasonal addiction to clementines.
I took a break from Netflix’in’ and crocheting to clean the pellet stove, since it burned out its last load of pellets. It has been de-ashed and I cleaned the glass and refilled the hopper. Soon, it will be blowing out warm air against the onslaught of stoopit, stoopit winter.
Which means I can get back to Netflix and my crochet. I’m rewatching The Tudors. Them were some sick, manipulative folkses back then. Kinda like today, only in fancier clothes.
That’s my normal process, too, but I seriously couldn’t walk across the apartment without stopping to catch my breath for about two weeks. Taking stuff out, throwing it on top of my vehicle, and then off the vehicle and to the dumpster…couldn’t do it. It sucked.
But I’m able to drop the garbage off the balcony and onto the pile of snow beneath. I did that today – got everything cleaned off!
Me, too. I left the box on the floor until the feline overlords tired of playing in/around/on it.
Skirt steak was yummy; lots of leftovers for fajitas for lunch. Today’s pork chop was delicious, and quite large; lots of leftovers for Vietnamese/Thai/something spicy lettuce rolls for lunch. I even have fresh cilantro! Everybody’s favorite! I’m soaking beans to simmer for dinner, forgetting that I pulled some of my mom’s homemade black beans out of the freezer to thaw a coupe of days ago. Oops. Oh, well, I’ll take it for lunch.
Noticing a pattern? If I gotta be at that office working my purplehorsetail off I might as well have yummy leftovers for lunch.
And apparently, fart up a storm. That’s gonna be a lotta beans.
I have some fallow pots, and I have some cacti that need homing, and I have some paint. As 'tis sunny (but WINDY) today I shall slather up a bit of a painting project out on Ye Olde Balcony to cheer up the pots a bit, but probably procrastinate on the actual replanting, and then go back to my beading. I am determined to teach myself to make a cuff out of seed beads.
Oh, and luckily he took the “it’s not you its’s me” graciously.
