Sleeping in, a sunriseless MMP

Well, Snowcopalis around here was a bust. We got about 2", which hung around for a couple of days and then Pfffft, it was gone. We might get some more this week, but we’re not too worried. We have the fridge and both freezers full of (mostly) edibles.
Some of the stuff in there may be from the Bush administration, I’m not sure. And then there’s the ground yak.

We do seem to have a new resident though. Gibbs has been going crazy running around Wifey’s studio out back, so yesterday, during a lull in the deluge, I spread out a tarp and laid down with a flashlight to have a look. A raccoon is in residence. Vinnie couldn’t care less. Neither do I.

I vaguely remember the 20 questions from my (misspent) youth, so I’m probably a turtle too, although I may be the only one around here. I’ll have to ask the next time I’m at a gathering of Ye Olde Pharts Society.

And ‘supper’ and ‘dinner’ are pretty much interchangeable around here, though, as previously noted, we only go out to ‘dinner’.

Yes you do.

I mentioned I’ve been wearing my N-2B parka. I bought it nearly a decade ago when I was heavier than I am now. It’s an X-Large. It fits well over a very heavy sweater, and there’s plenty of room to keep my hands inside. Today I tried on Mrs. L.A.'s N-2B. It’s a Large. It fits very nicely, though I did take off my sweater first.

Small world. My sister lived up that way for a while - she’s retired in Florida now. We grew up bottom of the Beltway - Glen Burnie.

The armpit, where I grew up.

oh, and we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner, although supper was interchangable with dinner, except we never went out for supper.
Breakfast was in the morning, lunch was around noon. Dinner was around 5 or 6, except on some Sundays and holidays when it was around 1, 2, maybe 3, depending on what we were having and what time company was expected.

Still raining.
My son carried the table in.
The dog is bringing me his toys one by one in exchange for a bit of cheese.
I wonder if I could get him to put his toys in the toy basket for some cheese.

Sorry you had a rough time on your b-day Doggio.

I thought I might go out and check the (124 gallon) propane tank. It’s under 5% full!

I’ve called the propane company, and they say they’ll have a truck round today.

No lying. Medicare is required at 65. My full retirement age is 66. I don’t intend to take SS till I hit FRA.

And my day is almost done. Gotta pick up Roxy, run to Food Lion, then go home and construct something supper-like. Rah.

This sounds cute/neat. I will mention it to my sister. She teaches 1st grade.

Is Bowie pronounced “Bow-ee” or “Boo-ee”? I’d never heard “Boo-ee” until I was at the Alamo. I hate to tell those folks, but they’re doing it wrong. :stuck_out_tongue:

Today the high is in the mid-thirties, which for these parts is darn near apocalyptic. Another storm is moving in, so we’re likely to see snow in the foothills and coastal range again. It’s purty, but I miss snow.

I’m off to order groceries for delivery. I am very grateful that’s an option!

Happy belated birthday doggio!

Just looked outside of work… my car is freaking buried. There’s probably at least 4" on my car since 7:00 this morning. Snowfall totals for this storm are around 8" since it started last night… and we’re not done.

I hate driving in the snow, but I love snow. It is so beautiful out there right now. Once I get home, I’ll be a happy camper, especially since Romeo will have taken care of the driveway!

They filled the tank. 102 gallons. (They never fill it completely. I think it’s usually 85%.)

Same here, 85%. Does it cost about the same as gasoline there? It used to be burned off as a waste product when making gasoline, I was told.

It’s Boo-ee
My son’s father was from there.

I saw a mess of feather on the front porch, on the neighbor’s side. I thought maybe Adam or his look-a-like caught a bird, but my son said he saw a hawk sitting there.
He just went out to shovel the snow and scraped up that mess as best he could.
I don’t know if the neighbor had to work today, but if she did she should be coming home soon.
He saw the next neighbor up out shoveling so he went up to help him, and actually talked with him!

Good for Sah-son!

Doggio wanted to join, right up until “composed of”; seems he doesn’t meet any of the remaining qualifications other than sometimes not cursing. :o

That’s snot funny.

Let me expand the geography of your brain-worm.

Is Dad’s desk okay?

Just curious, how long does that last? We do 15ish gallons an hour, but then your furnace isn’t getting up to the 12-15 million BTU range, either.

laundry is done, did a [del]Kessel[/del]Penzy’s Spice Run. Going out to the Pub in a bit.

Think about a chimmy-Chong-a, that will take your mind off of it.

Alos, you ain’t eating enough.:stuck_out_tongue:

I’m the only one who left the area. I’ve got a sister in Linthicum, a brother in Timonium, my mom and 2 other sisters live near BelAir, and my dad is buried in Dundalk. I lived in Brooklyn Park for a couple of years, but after living in Jacksonville, FL, and King George, VA, the closest I have gotten to Balto is St Mary’s County, where I am now. I love it here!

Roxy seemed to really love Food Lion - wide-eyed and looking at everything. When we got to the checkout aisle, she reached for the candy. They start young, don’t they?

Supper will be chickie, carrots, and instant smashed N.O.T.s (do not judge) and maybe some fruit - we shall see. Then I shall veg in front of TV. It was a long day.

Do not go skiing. Just do not ski. As of this time yesterday my sister, skiing in Colorado, hit some ice and went airborne. Tonight she is having a total hip replacement. How she will get home to Kansas we do not know, it will be rough if she has to sit up all the way. At least she is younger than my mom, and it was not her neck. I could have lost her.

Today it was $1.64/gallon.

Usually six weeks, but it’s been cold and Mrs. L.A. keeps turning the thermostat up. Seems like it only lasted a month this time.

I did bring some more wood in for the stove insert.

Were it not such a serious situation, I should say, “You click your heels.”
