Sleeping in in the MMP

Beautiful day today.

I propped the back door open.
At first Ripple was a bit confused, but then he decided it was a good thing. He had fun running in and out, and I was able to get some stuff done without interruption.

Chili has been made.
Laundry is laundering.
Grocery list has been made, athough not yet ordered. I think we are going to get groceries on Toosday.
Sah-son has three tests this week. I think he is planning on taking them M,W,F.
So will be a busy week for running.

I tried Lapsang Souchong once, and I put right up there with Earl Grey, a guy with whom I would dearly like to discuss how tea is supposed to taste.

Midget I’m sorry about your theatre group director. It’s hard to lose an integral member like that (or anyone really). Take care of yourself.

You make the poor celery exercise before you cook it? :( I agree with you on lapsang whosiwhatsit tea, btw, allow hubby drinks. It’s way to smoky for me.

I take my ham heated too Swampy!

I have finally caught the [del]plague[/del] flu from my husband and son. I have threatened to follow them around next time with a bottle of Lysol. A cough or sneeze will be met with a face full of spray. :stuck_out_tongue: They don’t believe me. Humph.

Today shall accordingly be somewhat quiet. Perhaps some laundry.

If the can(n)on is giving you problems, fire it. Ruble would love to help.
Next stop is mine. Only got one thing at the camera sto’, which was the thing I needed. Stayed away from the optional stuff. :frowning:

I suspended my slothfulness long enough to rake out the garden beds along the back of the house. Then I drove the mower over the leaves till they were reduced to teensy little bits. The better to decompose!

If it’s not rainy next weekend, I’ll do the front garden. I was thinking, this time next year, I’ll have **RoxStar **out there in her stroller while I futz in my yard. That will be nice. I hope.

We et, we laughed, we talked and in general made merriment. I sent JDD and Partner home with ham, N.O.T. sallit, and deviled aigs. Tomorrow we all partake of fine Presbyterian church lady vittles. JDD is in real good spirits. I can understand that as that’s how I was last year when my mom died. Sad, but glad she is not sufferin’ anymore. Now we chillax!

ETA: GrandMOOOOOOM I am sure RoxStar will make a fine supervisor.

AC units are in the windows that get them.

Trade-stock is packed for the coming trip and adventures.

Guns are cleaned and stowed. Don’t ask.

Brewed and stored several pots of tea to ice.

Cleaned some general things around the house and garage.

Saw a great bad movie on Comet (Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow) and ordered a copy from eBay.

Over-achievement will end shortly while dinner simmers.

Went to the laundromat ,and the Sto. Watching the Flyers/Pens game.

Read that as “dinner sinners.” :dubious: Must be someone who uses Miracle Whip instead of Duke’s in deviled aigs.

I just fed Cleo some wet food with her chill meds. She’ll be dosed daily for a week or so till she seems more relaxed. Tho I’m not sure how I could tell. She doesn’t like other furry critters.

Supper will be grab whatever.

Back to work tomorrow. Thus endeth my vacation-of-a-sort.

If it is ever dry enough to mow, I shall call you as a witness when I mow over the rotten leaves I didn’t rake.
Kopek, what is this about guns being cleaned and stowed away? :dubious:

The enchiladas are difinitely going in the menu rotation. They would even be a good potluck dish.

Laundry is put away, bed made, puppy crate cleaned and breakfasts/lunches prepped for irk this week. A friend stopped by to collaberate on a volunteer project for a bit Friday. I got the legos out for the two kids she had with her. They picked them up before they left, but today, when I walked Nelson, there was a LegoMan head in the dookie. I’m just glad it was a rounded piece.

The island I live is is on fire. I can see and smell smoke from my house. We just borrowed gas from a neighbor for the generator. The power has been out since three pm. I just took a cold shower. We are being told to be ready to go if it becomes necessary. What to do, what to do?

Set up a go bag and get the cat shut in a room where you can grab her. Hopefully it won’t really happen. Good luck Butters. Keep us posted when you can.

butters, I hope you don’t have to bug out, but you know you have a whole buncha Mumpers who wouldn’t turn you out.

Wishing the best for you, Butters.

Dinner is poke chops with sweet **N.O.T.**s and green beans with pepper and ham. Watching the Nashville game. Refs suck.

Do what Sunny says. And stay safe.

Be safe Butters; saw your pictures on facebook and  Second Sunny’s advice. Hurricane and now fire; at least you don’t get earthquakes (I hope).

Still raining here in North Ali-bama and no signs of it stopping anytime soon. Oh joy.

Church was different this morning. As the service was supposed to start the dean came out and said he’d just found out some info he hadnt known before, since his Sunday morning class had run late.

See, our music director is out of town. Then, before service time, there was a call from the assistant music director. She was in the ER, with gall bladder issues. It was too late to arrange a substitute, although I’m sure there were a few folks who could play the organ. So we didn’t sing the listed hymns, even though I thought we could have tried. The choir sang a cappella, but there was no other music. Kind of strange.

Butters, I went online to look at the news, and damn! It looks really ugly. I hope you don’t have to evacuate, but we all also want you to stay safe.

I’ve sometimes been the replacement musician at my mother’s church, though I’m only the backup person they get if they can’t get their regular musician or their other backup musician. Haven’t been back there for a while though.
