Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Closing shift tonight. I’m cutting the cord today and going to a [del]boomstick[/del]FireStick. I can get hockey and Food Network, so I’m good with it.
More stamps than a human can Lyft.
If you need that many plungers, you might want to cut back on the Taco Bell bean burritos.:p;)
Howdy all. Irking of course. So tahred. Roofing noise continues so my sweet Lucky Louie took the day off and will be off until the noise if over.
The POTUS visit is a big deal. Our little daily paper said there will be peaceful protesters. Lots of groups with one being named Drinking Liberally Key West. This is a drinking town. Only in Key Weird .
Blurf x one million.
RoxStar had a little fluid in her lungs and her blood sugar was low. They wanted all her numbers in the right range before cutting her loose - and that happened early yesterday. She’s nursing like a little piggy and my daughter has taken to motherhood like a pro.
As for the move - they’re both sick of Fl. SIL’s mom lives in the same county we do. I volunteered to be their daycare if they wanted to move back north. They’ll be staying with us till they get jobs and decide where they want to live. And as of a few minutes ago, their move date is May 19.
We were over there today to get the old lady cat and some of their stuff. Tomorrow we’ll depart in the dark of the morning.
Home a tad later than usual due to customers walking in the door one minute before closing. Not pleased but I was nice, dammit. Sorry Busi for stealing your line.
The POTUS visit was a big nothing burger as far as I was concerned. It did disrupt traffic and boating bigly. The purpose was to visit JIATFS. That is Joint Inter-Agency Task Force South. The drug interdiction, human traffic interdiction and migrant interdiction plus other things they do not share with us.
For me it meant a slow day in the ticket office so I had time to download and start reading James Comey’s book.
baker, I’m impressed. I can still rattle off the first stanza or two, but never could do the entire poem.
butters, Al Gore used to tie up traffic from BNA to Hartsville whenever he came to town. They would block roads over/under I40 all the way out. When DT has come to town, it’s usuall only downtown, but there are enough protesters/supporters that tie just as much traffic up.
At our all hands meeting today, it was announced that all of us working past security will begin wearing uniforms in May. That sucks. I know that I will need to wear something under a short sleeve tee shirt most of the year.
The Preds are on their way back to town to play their fifth (and hopefully last) game of the playoffs. GO PREDS!
The check was in the mail so I am now appreciably richer thanks to my insurance company. Also got out to pay the gas bill, buy some provisions, and fill the gas tank. The girls did better at soccer practice tonight, so no yelling and I left them a riddle: "I’m something today that I will not be on Saturday (when we play our game). That should hold them a for a little bit. (answer below).
The answer is I am 64 years old today, but my birthday is tomorrow so when I see them on Saturday I’ll be 65.
Day One of [del]PANIC!!![/del] palate change is done and one more day for me ------ unless I volunteer for the weekend. Which isn’t on my radar yet. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow.
Curious. Earlier today my husband and I heard and felt a sound like a roll of thunder or something. No idea what it was. No storm. No earthquake as far as I can tell. The dogs reacted furiously as well, so we didn’t imagine it.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out and clear, well dark, with a predicted high of 73 and N.O.S. for the day. Rain is supposed to move in tomorrow night and all day Sunday. We shall see. Nothin’ much on the agenda today. I shall go to Sam’s to get some salt for the cee-mint pond (it’s on sale and I will be needin’ it soon) and some laundry detergent. No TP will be purchased as I have a goodly supply right now. We shall sup upon majik intartoobz pizza tonight.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, bein’ as I shall go about the public I shall purtify and don goin’ about the public clothin’. Oh bother!
I have no idea what it’s doing outside other than it’s cold.
Nothing much on the agenda today other than going to the college so Sah-son can take a test.
Next week is the last week of school and I have a long list of projects for him to get started on.
One of the more important is for him to get his license, I can’t drive him around forever.
I am up and ready to go but just wanted to check in here and kill a few minutes. Lucky Louie shall be a slugabout again today due to the roofers still making lots of scary noises on our roof at irk. One good bit of news is the employee that is on maternity leave is going to irk today. She is making her hubby do daddy duty. At least today I will be able to at least read my email. I have not spent more than 5 minutes in my own office in over 2 weeks.
With that I shall begin the long commute to irk. Happy Firday to those that celebrate.
Morning all and thank you for the good wishes. Funny thing is, i’m not feeling this one as deeply as I did my 60th, which brought about a fair amount of angst, even those this is one of those ‘milestone’ birthdays (after all, I now qualify for all those ‘senior’ discounts now…). Just seems normal, probably because I am in good physical and financial shape (mental is still TBD), so not worrying about my mortality. So thanks to all and I plan to keep on truckin’ here and in life for quite some time yet.
Other than the above piece of wisdom, nothing much to report. Paper is here to read, sudokus are waiting to be solved, and temperatures are supposed to be in the high 60’s F.
I am at irk and wishing I was elsewhere since the sun’s shining and the weather’s looking very good for a change. The lizard who sits next to me has gone home (she only irks until 1pm) so her heater is off and I have the window open. Yay for small victories!
Busy weekend ahead, I have to go over to my friends’ place tonight to feed the ferrets and let them out for a run around in the house. Tomorrow I have an early gym class, then I need to drop some stuff in to the dressmaker for alterations and general titivation, and I have an appointment in the early afternoon to get my hair cut. Errands and whatnot as well so that will be a busy day.
I’d like to prepare for it with a nap but sadly I am still at irk and apparently nappage during the irk-day is frowned upon.
