Whenever I hear about “family sleeping” I always wonder about that…
Up, sheveled for 32° which includes winter coat.
Just saw a neighbor pull out; ain’t that big of a street for 2 of us to be out this early.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
They should probably close the bedroom drapes.
Next month. Neither parent is in shape for the long trek - both are sleep-deprived and unable to drive that long safely.
Her doctor advised against family-sleeping and she is in full agreement. So one or the other of them will sit in the recliner with the baby snuggled in while the other attempts to sleep in the bed. They’ll figure it out.
Right now, we’re scheduled to return on May 18 for a quick turn-around to bring them home. Of course, it’s all dependent on their collective health states.
It was glorious waking in my own bed - no back ache!! Plus I had a *gooooooood *sleep. YAY!! All critters have been tended to, including Miss Cleo, who will remain confined to the blue bedroom at least one more day. I’ll hit the shower shortly and head out for groceries.
It is truly a Happy Saturday!!!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 74 and cloudy for the day. Rain is allegedly movin’ in tonight and it’s supposed to be rainy Sunday and Moanday. We shall see. No huge plans for the day for either of us. Food intake will be via forage. I got some stuff from the Pubic Sto’ deli to make sammiches. Starvation will not ensue.
Glad y’all made it home safe GrandMOOOOOOM! Ain’t nuttin’ line one’s own bed. Glad Roxstar is doin’ well.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, well, onward into the day!
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
I got up early and I drank some coffee. I’ll try to get some work done, and then I have plans to meet up with my sister.
We grabbed a McBreakfast, then **FCD **dropped me off at Food Lion while he took care of some banking and a stop at CVS. I’ve started the laundry and I’m assembling my daughter’s glider.
Happy Saturday
It’s a nice day outside, I sat out for a bit.
It’s only 50 degrees, but the sun is bright and there is no wind so it was pretty comfortable on the front porch, except that the asshole next door was blasting rap.
Lots to do today, so much that I don’t know where to start.
Welcome home FCM
Thanks, **sari **- it’s really great to be back. I’ll be glad when we get the rest of them here.
The glider was a real challenge to assemble, but it’s done and in the nursery. Third load is in the washer, and at least 3 more to go. Busy day, but not hard labor busy - just lots of little chores busy. It’s sunny but too cool outside. So easy indoor chores are good.
Make sure you get those wings on good and tight.
Had a neighbor do that to me once. I treated him to a few minutes of Bach on the Pedal Harpsichord at full volume. He never did that again.
Nothing on the schedule today except maybe finding someplace that sells pre-made won tons. I have a craving for won ton soup.
I also need to at least make a start to finding my desk. I know which room it’s in, I just don’t know which pile of [del]crap[/del] rare collectibles and important papers it’s under.
Idi Amin asked the guy he bought MIGs from to procure and aircraft for hi ten year old son, “that flies slowly and not very high”.
In this episode of “where’s Sunny going now?”, we may be moving back to CA. My parents are moving up to the Northern Bay Area to be near my sister. There’s a house for sale across from them that I will look at in a week. If I like it, we will buy it and move back. We’ll keep the Oregon house and rent it out again. The Oregon weather, unfortunately, does not agree with my migraines. Now that the kids have them too it makes sense to leave the area while they’re still at home. Moving back to the Bay Area will also give more options for finding a more appropriate school for 'Beamer.
Other than that, hubby is still sick. I foresee that today shall be quiet.
Butters what happened with the presidential visit?
Is there a tv for her to watch? There’s really not much to do while breast-feeding (or just feeding) an infant at all hours. It’s hard to manage a book. Just a thought.
They’ve got a TV for the nursery and a Roku box for it. We were discussing this while we were there.
But she can surf on her phone while nursing.
:dubious:
:dubious: :dubious:
Are the :dubious: for surfing while nursing? She’s done it easily. The baby is supported by a pillow and one arm, and her other hand is free to swipe. Easy-peasy!
Baby’s clothes and bedding are in the dryer. I’m about to rotiss a chicken. It’s been a lazy/busy day - spurts of each.
Howdy Y’all! I’ve actually accomplished stuff today. OK, not a lot, but stuff. I cleaned the cee-mint pond, well, let the robot pool cleaner thingy or whatever it is run, and skimmed off a buncha pine straw. I added salt and it’s lookin’ pretty good. After the rains are over tomorrow and Moanday, I shall add some algaecide and the cee-mint pond should be in shape. Da cave was a little dusty so I dusted as well. I also made N.O.T. sallit , deviled aigs and a pound cake. In addition I made up a pineapple casserole, got a ham ready to go in the oven early tomorrow mornin’, and cooked some green beans. All this will be N.O.L. tomorrow along with some rolls. JDD and Partner are comin’ over after deheathenization to partake. JDD is handlin’ his mom’s death well. Sad, of course, but glad she’s not feelin’ so miserable now. The funeral will be at the Methodist church in large and in charge Parrott due to the fact it will be rainy on Moanday. The church is next to the cemetery which makes sense. So we shall have a Presbyterian funeral in a Methodist church. If you hear of an earthquake in southwest Jawja on Moanday y’all will know why.
Laundry is done and baby stuff is stowed. I expect my daughter will rearrange things, but everything is clean and put away, so there’s that.
Used chicken is rotissin’. I figured out why it was reduced - one leg is broken!!! Poor crippled chickie. Sides are carrots and instant smashed N.O.T.
Tomorrow, we have to retrieve my car - 90 minutes there, 90 minutes back. ugh. We’re thinking about going to a place in Annapolis for breakfast to at least break up the trek a little. Nothing else is planned, so it should be a chill day. I may rake out some garden beds if it’s nice enough outside.
Have I mentioned that I’m glad to be home? Because I’m glad to be home!!
Went to a new barbecue place for lunch and was not impressed. I had rib tips and burnt ends and both were tough. And expensive. $27! I won’t be returning. Dinner is a steamed artichoke and a burger patty. Rode Miss A., swept the garage, cleaned my bridle, vacuumed the downstairs, and vacuumed my girth and saddlepad. Tonight I am vegetating either in front of the teevee or with a book. And Ursala Kitteh on my lap.
