All of a sudden, I want peanut brittle. I can’t recall the last time I had some, but I want some NOW!! How weird is that? It’s not even chocolate! :eek:
And I’m tired. I see me crashing early. Weeping in my pillow because I don’t have peanut brittle.

Jah the decision was beerverages tonight and beerverages tomorrow. It came down to a matter of practicality. See, I had baked beans in the oven and martinis and cookin’ do not mix. Martinis are for when one has nuttin’ else to do but sip a couple/three martinis and retire. The ones we make tend to be potent. Any news about the goin’s on yet?

BBBobbio even though you won’t see this til sometime tomorrow, here’s hopin’ tonight’s shift if filled with sleepin’ and lots of butt pickin’. Here’s especially hopin’ none of the good residents of Mayberry and surrounding areas feel the need to blow themselves up with fireworks and such.
Looks like storms are on the way in here. Even though I hope it does not rain tomorrow, at least it’d keep the local [del]idiots[/del] residents from blowin’ themselves up/settin’ fire to the 'hood cause it’s still really dry around here.
where did “Mooooom” come from - sounds like a cow with pursed lips. Cashew brittle is pretty darned yummful, too.

I predict a very prolific week for the MMP (again :)). Thanks for the compliment, MindDude; tarragon is a nice, aromatic spice/herb - it’s my favorite spice/herb, which is why it’s my online persona. 
Yay for AC techs finally fixing FCM’s AC! And thank goodness that the root canal is turning out ok for Kai–a double thanks that it’s relieved her pain.
To tune up the grill for tomorrow, we had kebobs of steak and veggies; I ate one that was mostly veggies (yellow squash, green pepper, and onion) with a toasted onion/whole wheat pita bread. Boy it was good! I’m going to have one burger and one hot dog for tomorrow and have gotten some Ben & Jerrys strawberry Light ice cream. LOL I don’t know what that’s going to taste like, but am willing to give it a try. I’ve been eating the light yogurts the past couple of days (those are the ones that are the fewest in calorie, sweetened with splenda); they’re not too bad, although they do leave a bit of an aftertaste, which I’m getting used to.
My boss gave us 59 minutes of administrative time today! I’m so glad tomorrow is a holiday; I do have to work on Thursday & Friday, but it should be quiet around the office, I think.

Yay for pain relief from root canals and PT/drugs! Weather changes are annoying, aren’t they, [color=magenta]Rosie[/color? And just wait till it gets cold and your new knee feels even colder than the rest of you! :eek: That was more than a little disconcerting, to say the least.
Now, of course, that the knee is no longer being quite the barometer that it used to be, my bad foot is taking over the job – when the barometer starts changing and the humidity starts going up, it starts tingling and burning all over cause the nerves are fried and apparently even the slightest swelling can affect it. It was so much easier living in NOLA where the humidity varied between a low of 78% and a high of 1000%; at least there it never went down so low that you really noticed it going back up. And so my foot didn’t react this way. Stoopid foot.
You’re making me want nuts, Mooooom, with *or *without the brittle. And I don’t think we have any nuts. Or brittle. Phooey.
Ooh, but we have ice cream! Ding ding ding! We have a winner!

I only wish I knew who the artists were because it would be nice to know who’s who so I could try more of their music – I’m really enjoying listening to it! Looks like I got here at the right time–peanut brittle is one of my specialties! My grandma used to make very good peanut brittle. I’ve tried to make it, but it hasn’t turned out right. Who wants to help me test it next time I make it? Any volunteers? If I could figure out how to do it, I could make a Rainforest Crunch-type thing with cashews and Brazil nuts and macamadamia nuts. And if I can do that, the next obvious step is Rainforest Crunch ice cream. Then I will have true power!
Mmmm…that sounds nice. Are they chocolatey and caramelly?

kai, I’m glad your root canal went okay. I hate root canals, but it’s better than getting wisdom teeth pulled.

tarra - FWIW - since tarragon is the leaves of whatever plant it comes from, it’s an herb - spices come from seeds. I learned that from Alton Brown.
Usually, on July 4th (and Saturday night of the Columbus Weekend festival in October), there is a fireworks display in the center of town, and I can usually see it over the treetops out one of my front windows. I thought it was goning to be tomorrow night, but I heard all the booming tonight. But I couldn’t see anything, so either they moved the launch location, or it was an unofficial display, or the clouds were low enough to block the view (but that’s not likely - I would have at least seen the glow within the clouds, wouldn’t’ve I?) we’ll see what happens tomorrow night.
The ice cream bars were yummy. Well, are yummy- I’ve only eaten one. The other might be awful. I’ll have to quality-test them.
Best Friend is here, the train was 1 1/2 hours late, and she’s doing tai chi with Mr. Lissar right behind me. Dinner was wonderful pub food, and it’s almost time for bed.

Bookcat, sorry you gotta work. I’d love to have an airshow at work tomorrow, but lots of aircraft in the neighborhood=Very Bad Things. Actually, you and BBBbobbio need to be on call for the MMP, as bad as we feel tonight. :eek:
Nothing much to report on the neighbors. Schizophrenic Dude, that’s Screaming Neighbor’s brother, escorted the EMTs into the house, the ambulance arrived, and the paramedics loaded somebody into the van and drove off. I’m guessing it was Screaming Neighbor’s boyfriend, the Drug Dealer, because I think he and Dude are the only ones that live there. It couldn’t have been an overdose, that would have required noise and running, not silence and moseying, right? So it must have been a broken leg or something. It must not have been a fight, because the cops didn’t show up. For all I know, Dude was seeing dead people in his bathroom again, but I don’t think that’s likely, as he’s not been off his meds since he’s been back. Believe me, if he’d been off his meds again, the whole neighborhood would know.
I think tonight is terrify the cats night, but I haven’t heard anything yet. Usually, the neighborhood kids have started with the firecrackers already…oh. Maybe they’re still in jail for joyriding. I wonder how noisy it will be tonight? I guess not very.
One hour later
Who was that woman I just spoke to on the phone? She said she was my mother, but she was…almost normal. And sober. I can’t remember the last time I spoke with my mother in the evening while she was sober. It was ok, I just feel a little discombobulated right now. My mother, drunk and nasty, I can deal with. But sober and nice? Polite? Very weird.
