Slightly delayed, my tale with a moral; this weeks MMP

We had a good dinner - poke chops, N.O.T.-n-onions, and slices of fresh, yummerrific 'maters. And all of a sudden, I feel totally beat. Methinks this’ll be an early night.

Speaking of craft shows, yesterday I checked on the stuff I threw at the last show and never got around to finishing. I think it’s all gotta be trashed. Well, not trashed, exactly. I’ll try to pulverize all of the pieces and wet them - maybe I can reclaim the clay. If not, it’s maybe $8 worth of clay…

Still no peanut brittle, damn the luck.

haze, that is the most disturbing thing I’ve seen all day.

Charlie!!!

I like this definition of middle age. (Cuz I’m starin’ 50 in the face and I AM NOT OLD!!!) Now get off my lawn! P.S. to Bobbio: :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep…that recurring acne thing sure is a disappointment, isn’t it? Mine was never incredibly bad, but I’m always :frowning:  when I get those occasional zits. And Meeks, I’ll bet you’re the only one who notices the scarring.

meli, congratulations on declaring your independence! And may I just say that I am shocked…just shocked…that you and that nice young man would consider cohabitation without the benefit of that important piece of paper.

An Arky…so how did you explain to the kids…?

So, didja run into the guy who didn’t call you back, MBG?

Glad to hear AC finally got her just desserts, even if it was way overdue. Any clue what the last straw was? Yes, this is national nosy MMPers day.

The Origins Game Expo is going on right now near where I work. Went for a walk indoors today (too hot and muggy to walk outside) and wandered through the convention center. Wondered if any of the crowd was someone I knew from the Boards. It looked like a fun set-up (I’m not a gamer, but I enjoy board games and they had places all over the convention center where people were playing those…).

I’m hungry. I think I ate too much spicy stuff yesterday and my tummy was kinda rumbly (not in a good way) this morning, so I’ve had two cans of ginger ale and am eating only bland stuff tonight (a piece of baguette with butter).

So, what’s left over, SCL? I might be interested in some items as well…

Gotta go find dinner.

Back later.

GT

We tried out the new Chinese place just down the road tonight. Not bad pricewise or foodwise. Kinda good to know there’s a place not far away. Then we came home and had a dip in the pool. I have convinced ol’ y’all know who to spend the night.

Haze I’d seen that already. It is one of the freakiest things on teh whole wide internets!

The guy is the manager of the health club/gym I go to. I wanted to sell him as a sponsor on our “SMARTY” bus, which is an old bus we had converted into a neat-o educational platform. New paint, decals, interior - we’ve already started using it at summer day camps - we do bus safety, walk safety, bike safety programs for kids out of it.

See?

Anyway, the gym is owned by the hospital, and I’m trying to line them up as a sponsor - the whole project is done with sponsor money, the labor to convert the bus was donated - everything.

Well, he saw me when I walked in waved me over and apologized - he had a spot visit by the mucky mucks. He’s out tomorrow, but I’m going to drop in and talk to his assistant, and she’ll get the stuff to him and the mucky mucks after that.

Which works for me, cuz while Ed’s a nice enough guy, his assistant is a really nice looking lady, and if it comes down to that, I’d probably rather spend a few minutes with her than with him.

Ya know?

Ok, off to feed Wife - she came home not in the mood for the tacos I made myself.

I get dessert.

And beer.

In the next few days I am going to be unpacking the boxes from the show and taking pics to post on the internet site; I’ll post them on WebShots first and give ya’ll first choice of anything you are interested in. Everything from this album is still available except for #029 - that is one of the pieces that sold. They run from $12 to about $22 including postage.

I am still a hurting puppy. My feet have not forgiven me and my legs are sore from being on my feet all day, but at least I can walk. Crawling seemed like a good idea about 11:00 last night.

Cricket was so funny this morning. I didn’t even come out here last night; I took a bath and went to bed. This morning when I came out she was really giving me the cold shoulder - “Have we met? I don’t believe we have been properly introduced.” She seems to have forgiven me now, though.

Talked to George’s owner’s mom - the family seems kind of flakey and I don’t know if I will ever see the cat or not. Owner and her dad had to go out of town this morning and won’t be back until next week and Mom can’t give me the cat. So if I hear from them I do and if I don’t - oh well. It’s not like I was emotionally attached already or anything. I just think it is kind of weird to advertise the cat and then not want him to go to the new home.

Hugs to all who need them. I need some dark chocolate or a drink. I’m having to settle for Tylenol Extra Strenght.

Mork, oh man, I know I was stressed last night, but I guess my writing was pretty awful. If you got that I’m house-bound, I really need to re-read my posts. Let me rephrase slightly:

What I meant was that I feel forced to stay at home when they’re creating a danger to my house and blocking my driveway at the same time. I feel like I have to stay at home to protect my house. So on that day, I feel like I don’t have a choice about leaving town or not. Most of my other neighbors don’t want to deal with the hassle, so they leave town during that time. I feel like I don’t have that luxury.

That said, I’m doing a BIG snoopy dance today. :::Snoopy Dance::: Nothing happened last night. I can’t tell you how grateful I was. It was a huge relief. And I was able to get to sleep by midnight and got everything done today that I wanted to do. Yahoo and then some!! Maybe it helped that I told my neighbor that I’d call the police on them this year if they did a repeat performance. (This part is a really long story. . . old neighbors were the ones causing the trouble. But they’re gone now. New neighbors are nice; they just didn’t know it bugged me. So I’m really hoping that I’ve seen the last of it.) I also told them they could have it in front of someone else’s house. And that didn’t happen either. So that was good.

Jahdra, I hope Santa Clara Univ. made it. I love that school. Beautiful campus.

I had no idea there was white chocolate Reese’s. YUM! I can’t do too much sugar, but a teeny bite could be fabulous.

Special1, you’re not a terrible person. You’re a good person. . . because I said so.

Haze, a white chocolate whore? :dubious: There’s just too many jokes to even start.

And yes, that youtube was really disturbing.
**
rigs**, you and FCM and Taters can have my milk chocolate. I’m allergic. I can still eat white chocolate though. No cocoa in that.

Rebo, wow alphabetized DVDs. You guys amaze me. I’m just lucky to have all the DVDs in one space or even in one room. Your place must be as neat as a pin.
**
meli**, congrats on the move! Where is Sin? :stuck_out_tongue:

Special1, there’s a difference between non-believers and infidels? Wow, I can be in all kinds of stuff I didn’t know about.

Egad! that’s seriously warped!

Wow, I wasn’t alive during the 60’s and I never did any drugs but I think that lack was just rectified. Holy crap!

gt, I have no idea why AC was fired. The decision to hire her was one of the first decisions made by someone bucking for promotion, and letting AC go wouldn’t reflect well on her or *her *manager. I’d be willing to bet that whatever the final straw was, it was unreasonable and irrational on management’s part and had nothing to do with performance.

It was definitely summer today. I hope it cools off soon. 80s are fine, 90s and 100s are too hot. Of course, my crazy cats are sleeping in the sun, because it’s just not hot enough in the house.

I saw a fleet of school buses this afternoon, all Laidlaw. I miss seeing school names on buses, especially when they were from out of town.

Naah, that’s way too much work for you. Not a problem, I’ll just keep doing what I’ve been doing, listening and enjoying!

Hey, watch it whippersnapper…
The best reaction to the bus was one of my principals. Looked at it, turned to me and deadpanned “Susan Dey and Danny Bonaduce called. They want their bus back”

I think I just had a run in with door to door hookers. I just had two women ring the door bell and ask if I wanted to have a good time.

Well, that’s a new tactic, doggio.

What…MBG likes talking to pretty ladies? Who knew?

That’s sad, Jah. I was hoping for a tale of AC going out in a blaze of…hmmmm…something spectacular.

I’m tired. Maybe I’ll crawl into bed early.

Almost Friday!!! Yay!

GT

And you said no? :smack:

Or you said yes and you’re not sharing the story?!! :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. No money.
  2. I’d probably wake up in a bathtub full of ice and a little light in the renal department.
  3. Hi Opal!

Doggio, I have about $5 in my wallet. I’d be glad to donate it for a good cause.

MBG, I had to go look those people up.

dog I sent them to you, and you sent them away?

But, how will they pay their way through art school now?
