Slightly delayed, my tale with a moral; this weeks MMP

Susan Dey and Danny Bonaduce? Laurie and Danny of The Partridge Family. That’s their bus behind them. Get it?

I remember The Partridge Family. $5 and a couple of cans of 211 would have done the trick.

Ok, so what’s 211?

Thanks, anyrose.

Wow, if that doesn’t make one feel old! You had to look up The Partridge Family?!

I guess I really am entitled to say . . Get off my lawn!

Good Morning (and good weekend :p:p:p) all!

What? Waddidisay!? Help!!! Stop Hitting me!!!11!!!11!!![size=1Pleeeeeaaaaase…[/size]

**Haze **-- I’ll only be able to watch the video on Sunday at work – I pretty much only have time for drive-bys over the weekend… but from everybody else’s reaction it sounds promising

Dogbutler, **MBG **-- not only are you giving male oglers a bad name, your giving me lots of work to catch up to you! :stuck_out_tongue:

**Roo **-- if you say I’m a good person I guess I have to accept it. Because… well because you said so! Oh, and good night
And I had no idea about Susan and Danny either, and I am old enough to remember the Partridge Family (but also apparently old enough that my memory is starting to go…) – so we can fight about who gets to stay on the lawn, I guess.

Everyone else – Sorry, can’t follow… y’all survive Friday and have fun on the weekend. You can point and laugh on Sunday, as usual…

Good night, Special1! I was just about to go hunting for you. I have two more minutes before it’s officially Friday, so I’m hitting the submit in a couple seconds. Have a great weekend!

Morning all! I’m at work, I’ve had caffeine and I have a long list of boring things to do today. But it’s Friday and that’s all that matters!

OkY, tonight I can makean authentic durbjen post full of lvoe. I got off work today and one of my friends asked me if I was up for a drink, so I had one cider with him and his roommate, and then That Guy and his roommate (Minister’s Lad) said they were going drinking with a friend that was visiting from Minnesota around the same neighborhood. I’d met their friend before, but I was… ah, somewhat elevated at the time, so I thought I should go and make sure that wasn’t the only impression he had of me. All three guys were very obliging and bought me enough alcohol to make me quite drunk (two shots and two glasses of Guinness). We all stumbled home good-naturedly, and tomorrow I guess we’re going to go see a baseball game.

One thing that worries me is Minister’s Lad. Before I had the whole thing with That Guy, he had hit on me once or twice. He’s a great guy and I love him dearly, but I never felt any sparks with him (I wish I had; it would have prevented a lot of things). He is perfectly aware of what went on between That Guy and me; plus we’re going to be moving in together, along with Mr. Cheerio, in the fall - so I assumed that whatever it was he felt towards me was long gone. Tonight, though, he was definitely hitting on me. Unless running a hand over my leg under the table means something other than “I am hitting on you.” :dubious: He’s never done anything else to make his intentions known, so I feel somewhat safe in ignoring it (and goodness knows, I am discouraging him as much as I can without embarrassing him in front of everyone else) but tonight made me feel somewhat uneasy. I may discuss it with Mr. Cheerio and see if he has any thoughts on the matter. If he can manage to tear himself away from his ex-girlfriend. That’s a whole 'nother story, though. Ah, human drama.

Ooooh, that can be difficult, Hank. Good thing Mr. Cheerio will be there to chaperone. Where’s your brother going to live once you’ve moved?

This not knowing The Partridge Family stuff is making me feel old. AND I’M NOT OLD! Really.

Would this be the 211 doggio was referring to? (I was wondering too.)

OK…it’s Friday and I should get ready for work, right? It’s almost the weekend!!!

GT

Think they’re ex-JW?
I, being from Overseas, have only 3rd-hand references to the Partridge Family, but I absolutely WUV the bus. And I’m not even drunk!

That would be it plantwalker. Is it disturbing that I knew what doggio meant? Is it even more disturbing that I am going to work for the brewery that makes it? In seventy-two hours I will be gettin’ new employee oriented at said brewery. YAY! I’m all psyched about this job.

Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Soon I’m goin’ to purtify and Ima go to the store. I have a list of things to buy along with the cash to buy them. Seems a certain somebody is in the mood for deli type stuff thus the list of deli type stuff to buy and the cash with which to buy them. Yeah, I coulda said, so go buy ‘em, but bein’ as I’m home and he’s workin’ this mornin’ and it means goin’ to at least two different stores, well, I’ll do it. Did I mention he’s takin’ off this afternoon so we can begin the weekend of sloth, gluttony and general uselessness?

Hmmm… reckon I could make a livin’ at the type of door to door sellin’ doggio mentioned?

Ok, I’m off to glam up and shop. Later Y’all!

Happy Friday all! BooFae, what happened with the cat that you took to the vet? Any word on him/her yet? (hoping for the best here.)

BBBobbio, you’ve just had way -too- much excitement down in Hootersville! Congrats on your wings, though, and I’m hoping that the fire stays away from your property.

A local family took their dog, a 7 mo. old Newfoundland (already huge!), down to the Mall for the 4th. They’re training her to be a service dog to autistic kids, so figured that would be a good experience for her being around a bunch of kids. Guess they forgot to figure in the fireworks, though (D’oh!), which spooked her and caused her to run away. They looked for her until 1 AM, but she didn’t turn up until Thursday, and then on Roosevelt Island in the middle of the Potomac! She either swam there or crossed on a bridge. Anyway, she was reunited with her family, so happy ending. Did I mention how -huge- she already is?! laughs

I’m feeling a bit under the weather today, debating on whether or not I’m going in to work. I probably will, at least for a few hours. I still haven’t heard from my endocrinologist’s office, giving me the authorization to have the needle biopsy done. So I’m just trying to not freak out too much. Have a good weekend, all.

crap! I was actually out of bed and medicaed early (read: on time) this morning and I still futzed around too long on the puter. Damn this thing. It sucks up time! It’s evil.
off to work

Herbie - hope you’re soon feeling better!

The kitten is still hanging on although the vets are trying to establish what level of kidney damage she might have. Her results are confusing because they suggest she should be at death’s door but instead she’s bouncing around like you’d expect a kitten to do.

The other cat, Stanstead, is at the vets to be neutered and they need to test him for FIL and FIV as well as getting him some treatment for his flea allergy. I haven’t heard any more about that yet, but the lady who trapped him hasn’t yet come back for the other trap that she left in the garden. I’ll let you know when I hear more about him. If he’ survives, it looks as if we’ll be fostering him for a while. Or maybe he’s just decided that home is where we are!

Good morning, and Happy Friday! I’m all caffeinated up, and thinking about frying up some bacon for a BLT for breakfast. I haven’t gotten off my butt, however…

Not a lot planned today - I may go shopping later. I’m so lazy…

Let me introduce you to my latest addiction!

The only thing disturbing my sleep last night was the dogs wanting out at 0100 for their midnight pee, and the alarm clock at 0500. Thank Og.

Evil evil woman! Did you not just see me complain about how much of my time this machine sucks out of me already!?!?!?!

The show was broadcast from 1970 to 1974 people. And you have to remember I have two things against me - I don’t really know much pop culture from before 1980 or so because I wasn’t old enough, and my parents didn’t know any either because they were immigrants.

Really, it makes for a big hole in your background and I’ve often noticed this…just a huge gap in knowing anything about my parents’ generation because they didn’t.
Swampy, thanks for the info!

It’s 9:15, and nobody’s tried to sell me door to door anything. Maggie’s had her morning stroll, and I am caffeinating.

gt, that’s what I was talking about. It’s also the neighborhood nickname for the crazy lady across the street.

swampy, door to door beer would be cool, but a beer truck would be really jake.

Special1, you’re just jealous. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ahhhh. Fridays. I just love Fridays. Especially every other Friday, which comes with money. Bills are all paid up for the month, which always leaves my bank account pining for Prozac. But at least it’s all out of the way, which means my next cheque is mostly mine. Caffeine is administered, work has commenced, day is growing hot. It’s gonna be a steamy weekend.

Herbs - When my dad and I shared a townhouse with friends of ours, they had a huge female Newfie dog named Porgie. (As in “Georgie Porgie”) She was big, lumbering, and about as gregarious a pooch as you’d ever want to meet. She loved it when you smacked her hindquarters like a pair of bongos. (Although, phrased that way, it just sounds wrong.) Great dogs, those are. I don’t think there’s a violent bone in their bodies.

Doggy - Door to door … hookers? Really? That’s pretty ballsy. And by “ballsy” I mean “stupid.” Reminds me of that New York kid who made up business cards and handed them out to just about anyone advertising his little capital venture in the, uh, herbal business. Naturally, one of the people was an off-duty cop. Any cops in your immediate neighbourhood?

BusDude - Groovy bus, man. Actually, the first thing I thought of was “The Magic School Bus.” Is there a pair of wings stashed under the chassis?

Heff&Roo - Ah! Well, that changes things then. Yeah, ignorant, arrogant, and/or potentially hazardous neighbours can be a real pain to deal with. I’m glad that nothing happened this year though. Perhaps, if you maintain the same neighbours next year, you might be able to go out and see the spectacle without worrying that someone will inadvertently turn your house into a roman candle.

Hank - That was…um. An, uh…interesting…uh…
